I stood next to this car in the Lemans pits before the race started in 94. I think it was the hottest Lemans race on record? Great race and great memories 👍
Interesting, if this is the IAA 1993 and later Brunei one it should be Chassis number 133. 141, 151, 172 and 175 are in the Brunei as well. Chassis 141 might also have a identical chassis number brother car. The Striped one was first sold to sweden and has 884 PS. I think it now is in germany. Some people say it has TP1214153400 as the Chassis number. Chassis 169 was a road version at one point and was used as the homologation model for the Le Mans Version. It was converted to race car spec with the parts of Chassis 176 which was one of the two Le Mans Race Cars. The other Le Mans race car was Chassis 173 which either belongs to Jochen Dauer or Porsche themselves. Chassis 169 with the build to le mans spec is owned by porsche too. Chassis 176 was gifted to Joest which ran the Team in 1994 and later sold to FAT Turbo Express. As to how many were build, its very difficult to determin. Dauer himself claimed multiple numbers. Sometime 6, Sometimes 13 and sometimes even more. Dunlop made a press release in 2002 that claims 11 Dauer Porsches being made ans 3 of them Sold to the Sultan of Brunei. In 2003 the german car magazine Autobild says that 13 of them were build. The true number is probably between 9-13 (7 confirmed road cars 133, 141, 151, 169, 172, 175, striped one maybe TP1214153400 and two confirmed le mans cars 173, 176)
I am probably 100% certain that this is not the Brunei/IAA 1993 Dauer Porsche. I have Fotos from the 133 Chassis with red interior, Black wheel dishes and a tinted windscreen which matches the modifications that were made in 1997 when the car was brought back to Dauer. "In 1997 the car was returned to Dauer where it was re-upholstered with a red interior. At the same time Dauer fitted a semi-automatic gearbox, tinted glass and black centred wheels"
Im not to sure on my previous Statement anymore. Looking a bit deeper, some sources claim that the 169 was not only the homologation model but also the IAA 93 model. If thats the case, Dauer kept this model and probably sold it 2010 when he went into legal troubles. That would also indicate that the model at Porsche is not a conversion.
Wow, remember reading about that in one of the magazines at the time. Was definitely a yellow one they tested but not sure if would have been Performance Car or EVO magazine
Amazing bit of engineering! If Steve is not willing to see it through, I can only imagine the cost associated. Take some serious commitment and money to get something like that sorted!
Aww Adam great video bud but jeepers you make me laugh!! Oh do you have a CNC machine 😲 Yea that’s it there 🤦🏼♂️🤭🥴🥴🥴 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Bloody brilliant and in your defence it was behind you 🤣🤣
Very interesting video! What became of this project? My father actually worked for Dauer as an external developer (electronics for a tiptronic version of the car). This was shortly before all went down the drain and Dauer ended up in jail for tax fraud and some other scams. Kind regards
The reason why most of these types of cars are “parts bin specials” are because the parts are already type aproved for safety, same reason Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 used Nissan 300ZX headlights as they couldn’t get their own design type aproved in time.
I can’t even explain how jealous I am right now. This ha been my favorite car since I was a child!
Awesome video Adam. The 962, the 917 - not much more you can say about them. Works of engineering art and unbeatable. Thank you.

You've got to do a couple more follow-up videos that guy is so knowledgeable of cars and how things work amazing
Great video Adam, really interesting content. That Steve really knows his engineering, love the attention to detail. Top class!
Wow.....rare as it gets....was wondering where they were hiding.

OMG where'd you get a bodywork like that?!
imagine if Singer built one of these!!!!
The reason why most of these types of cars are “parts bin specials” are because the parts are already type aproved for safety, same reason Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 used Nissan 300ZX headlights as they couldn’t get their own design type aproved in time.
Another good content video.
These were insane at the time top speed was 250 mph
Class..!
It was Lola who modified / remade the body work to make the road cars and entry into 1994 Le Mans
Only thing I want to know is who the hell gave this vid a thumbs down 🤔 Another great vid bud 👌
Min 6.33???
