  • Bergen Belsen concentration camp was one of the largest concentration camps within the boarders of Germany during World War Two.
    It was liberated by British forces on 15 April 1945. Amongst the 54,000 people who died there, Anne Frank and her sister perished during a typhoic outbreak towards the end of the war.
