    Thanks, I hope you do not mind.

    Really enjoy your product and how to videos! There are many good project videos out there but many of the channels never really dive into the products and uses that make the process easier and higher quality. For those of us who aren't "in the business" everyday but serious hobbyists many times aren't exposed to new and innovative products the "pros" use, so huge thanks for your efforts!!

      Im glad that was helpful. It all adds up when you are grinding 10, 20, 30 welds. Like I said in the video, if you are grinding down thick welds this will do it, maybe not as fast as a regular flap disc. The beauty is having the option in one product

    I like the specific stuff, maybe for future videos you can do some wheel dressing tips or other stone grinding related tips. I don't see a lot of content in regards to grinding with stones or carbide burrs. These are things we use regularly in the die room, stone choice and dressing make a lot of difference. Granted there's not always a ton of reasons to need to know it.
    Drill bit sharpening is always fun to learn as well. Looking for when and why to sharpen or change bits perhaps.
    Thanks for the content though.

    Will these work on aluminum boats? Smoothing out rough welds, gouges scratches etc?

  • @ardvark84
    @ardvark84 3 роки тому

    This kind of things have to have some disadvantage and it's the time. If it takes 1 minute to grind that short weld it's already to long. Normally im using 2 grinders, one with course disc and the other with something softer so I don't have to swap discs all the time. It will take maybe 20 seconds to flat that weld with 40 grit disc and 10 or 15 to smooth it out so I will be faster by 20 - 25 seconds per weld. That's over a minute on 3 sided part like you have in the vise. I'm all in for new stuff but only if it's actually better than what I allready have.

    • @MakeEverything

      When I’m finishing and grinding steel I almost always remove the guard and use a slower speed variable grinder. The guard will typically interfere with the grinding discs full size. Thst being said, always use a guard when cutting with a cutoff wheel! Good luck!

    By grinding stainless steel pipes to satin or a mirror, do you also do it in a minute with the effect like in the movie? Because if so, such a surface finish is only suitable for paint, and then for a thick layer that will cover scratches. Man 3M Cubitron for the first cut, and then Norton H821. And only later something for satin or a mirror. Greetings from Poland, we already have this technology, it is a pity that in the US there is no ...

      It depends on the paint process and what I’m going for. If it can be bondoed I will use body filler. There are also high temp putty you can use for powder coating. I usually try and dab a little more weld in there if there’s a gap or low spot.

    so here is the problem, Abrasives themselves work in balance, if you get finer finishes you give up material removal rates, if you get higher material removal rates you don't get good finishes. Now really the BEST way to do the corner weld he is doing is to use a 60 grit resiin fiber disc to remove the weld, (resin fiber discs keep the grind area very flat and consistant) then use a 120 grit to remove the scratches then paint, any skill at all using a grinder and your finish is spotless and you shouldn't have scratches even with spray cans. In a production environment the best thing to use would be the 60 grit flap disc only, a skilled grinder can do this easily. Stainless is of course a different operation. Combination flap discs have their uses but they are very limited to specialty applications

    Grinding off welds is something one might do for architectural structures that are supposed to look pretty. Obviously you will lose a degree of strength in the joint. This aesthetic touch up grinding should not be used in critical structures that require the ultimate joint strength.

    • @maxwijnand7771
      @maxwijnand7771 3 роки тому

      Given proper penatration a ground down (flat) weld is actually stronger in many cases as it creates less of a stress concentration. Avoiding any sudden changes in thickness of material (e.g. weld buildup) will make a structure way more resilient to fatigue.
