Garter snakes!!! They're communal, they do better with other garters, there are so many different colors of garter snakes. They're harmless and fun to watch because they're inquisitive and active. Everything about keeping them is simple.❤
That’s a thought. It’s been a while since I’ve had snakes. My very first snake was a garter snake. Still thinking. Thanks for the suggestion! 🤓👍🏼
Very well done for educating the children and their parents, you have possibly stopped them from ever being scared of spiders I wish someone had took the time like this with me when I was a child as growing up I was terrified & couldn't even look at photos of spiders but luckily I over come my fear and now live with over 100 new world species, you are ace 😊❤

That repacking the car bit was hilarious, I too would of made it all fit as well no way not taking all that incredible stuff, kuddos to the wife for getting all to fit. Well done with all the impact you had at ur table it was incredible to watch. Love your videos keep up the hard work.

You need to come to the conventions over here in the uk, bcoz ive never really seen anyone who is that nice and feel connected to people who want to try and hold one.

Hey Alex, first time posting a comment on here. AnimalCon seemed real fun. I would go with any tropical snake/lizard, a Brazilian rainbow boa would look nice in there.
Wish I could stop spending money all year on Tarantulas so I could afford to fly to Florida for animalcon next year!

My suggestion for the big tank is an isopod and millipede bioactive terrarium. you could do a multispecies communal.
That’s a thought. Although if I have dart frogs I could have isopods in there. Food for thought. 🤔

Thank you! It was fun making people smile and helping them overcome their fear. They are a beautiful species and pretty inexpensive. They are slow to medium to grow but I enjoyed raising mine from a sling.

Anoles maybe? You just have to be careful and only have one male. I have an anole that was a stowaway in a flower arrangement from Florida last year. I didn't really want it, but have since gotten quite attached to it. 😆
LOL! I had one as a pet when I saw 10. I felt so bad because I had no knowledge on how to keep them. The poor thing died after a couple of weeks. They’re all over the place here so I’m always looking out for them. The green ones are sacred at my house because they are outcompeted by the brown anoles. I don’t think I could bring myself to keep one in captivity again. 🥹

Thank you. Yes, I missed it last year and had a bad case of FOMO. I stayed the extra day this year and it was worth it. Love Brian and we’re all hoping and praying but he’s got a really tough fight. I may have to make plans to go to the grand opening.

No. It was a UA-camrs convention so there were no animal sales. I should be getting some new additions pretty soon, so keep posted for that. 😉👍🏼

I’m sorry but I don’t know if there are going to be any. I know some go to the big ones like NARBC at Tinley but I don’t know of much else. 🤷🏻♂️
@TarantulaHaven That ok, I was just wondering. Lol, since this will be my first time at a reptile show, i don't even know if there will be tarantulas there. I know that I will enjoy it regardless of what they have there.

Idk how big of an enclosure it is and I know u need to have a bunch inside with them otherwise they will create territories which can end in cannibalism
I already have a balfouri communal, so no I’m not going to use this enclosure for one. I don’t believe in huge communals because it’s impossible to tell how many you have and if everyone is getting fed. Not to mention the amount of food you have to drop in to make sure everyone is fed. I’ll keep a small communal but nothing major.
@@TarantulaHaven yeah honestly I was wondering how people were doing that myself I cud see if it was like 10 or so but the one person who had hundreds I couldn't imagine he could say with any certainty that all the baby's ate so I'd have to agree with u there I am still very new into arachnids I have been caring for reptiles for a lil while now tho so I'm super excited to get my first t's which is going to be within the next week or so but I'm waiting for the enclosures first before I pick up my baby's I want to minimize any issues and have absolutely everything all ready to go
@@TarantulaHaven it was also very hard to tell how large the enclosure was it cud have been a 40g or a 120 I couldn't tell I was thinking more of the 40 g sized communal
I still haaaaaate when they tried to put your tarantula baby on their face 😡😡😡 so uncool - without even asking - and when you were obviously uncomfortable and said that but they carried on!!! Ugh. Hated it.
Yeah, I vowed I wouldn’t allow that again. I did get one person try at this one but I shut it down real quick. Did you enjoy the people handling at this one? 😊🤔
