He dances with such ethereal lightness and grace... a dying breed of dancers.. beauty doesn't need high jumps. And o top of that my favorite Chopin's waltz.
This is beautiful - music, pianist and dancer.
I watch a lot of ballet because I absolutely adore it and this has just become one of my favorite performances of all time. The way the piano piece and his movements tell me a story! Wow! Such a flawless performance, I was almost convinced it was effortless!

Love this interpretation by Lang Lang. Such a graceful and spritely touch, and well-mirrored by the dancer. It isn't as deeply melancholic as other interpretations, but it is nice to hear this lively interpretation for a change.
I have the DVD of the whole ballet, features Derek Dunn, also, can highly recommend it, Lang Lang is superb as always! Australia

Wonderful to watch. They seem to be very much in sync and it appeared so smooth and effortless (which, of course, it isn't). I would imagine that playing for a dancer is different from playing this piece at a concert. I wonder whether Lang Lang paced the piece by following Joseph's execution of the choreography or if Joseph just ensured that he kept up with Lang Lang or maybe a bit of both? The slowed approaches to the piano at 1.05 and 1.26 are perfectly timed.

Haha since went critics of any kind must be better themselves in the skill they're criticising? You lot need to step into the real world! I can understand people like LL, just like I like Britney Spears. But that doesn't mean I'm blind, I know what's what. LL is a mediocre pianist, his interpretations are not even interesting for the most part. There are good pianist out there, they just don't get all the attention this clown gets. That's the power of media, but media isn't always right.... is it now???
langlang plays this piece beautifully but I still prefer sokolov's version even better
