Season 1 episode 2 starved for help is literally my favorite episode out of any of the seasons the whole cannibal theme was done so well and the vibe the episode gave was just disturbing

I think it would have been better if instead of Jane they added Christa back and she had this trauma with her dead baby watching the pregnant lady of the group, and also by knowing Kenny from before, their conflict would have been more interesting.
I think kenny's reaction to sarita's death was poorly written because kenny blames clementine just the same way no matter your choice.
Would've made much more sense if he only got angry if you chose to cut off sarita's arm which caused her to die on spot. Completely irrational how kenny would blame you when you just killed the walker that bit her.

I think the writers and developers had a miscommunication. The characters say that the lake is way too huge to walk around, yet we can clearly see that it isn't true.

4:22 I picked doug on my first playthrough solely because I thought that Carley could face off against one more than doug could face off many trying to drag him through a window, I also thought it would be one of those things where somebody else would save them when you pick the other person.
Interesting format tbh usually I see people judge the game as a whole but dividing it into sections really helps to put things into perspective
I agree with you with pretty much everything except for Take Us Back being A tier , it’s most definitely a S tier , that episode did feel like a finale and had a lot of tense moments like Clem getting bit and that barn scene where we get to control AJ by closing the fences and making a choice to either kill her or let her turn giving us a callback to Lee’s death was spot on and then realizing she survived had me filled with emotions sadness and happiness and a very good heartfelt finale to an a amazing arc with Clementine. If the people who worked on TWD still operational then it would’ve been a perfect chance to create an AJ spinoff where we play as AJ and we see what they saw with the caravan and maybe we get to see Christa. W video btw
For me its B tier because of some of the bad writing like Clem surviving the bite. Even with the explanation of how she survived, I still don’t buy that a 5 yr old boy would be physically capable to haul Clem in a wheelbarrow all the way back to the school through a herd of walkers. Also the Minnie singing on the bridge scene was amazing but it made no sense how the walkers weren’t attacking her at first when she was shooting at us and yelling but then when we shoot her, they start biting her all of a sudden. All the AJ and Clem stuff is top tier though which really carries the episode
The ending of season 2 where Kenny leaves Clementine and AJ at Wellington was the saddest ending in the entire game. Sadder than Lee dying, in my opinion. Me and my wife ugly cried.

It's definitely sad but Kenny is much more controversial person than Lee, I personally support him but and chose him over that girl, but besides cries, I felt a bit of relief since the obsession of Ken with the mission was too much and dangerous for ppl around
Haha totally agree about 400 Days being the worst. I was so disappointed the characters from there did not fit in better in the main season. I felt like the whole DLC was a huge waste of time and money
They were definitely planning on doing more with the characters but scrapped it for some reason which sucks and makes playing the DLC pointless

On its own I like it. But they shouldn't have propped it up saying it'd matter in the future, or maybe hold up at that end make it mean more in Season Two.

S tier predictions before watching:
Starved for Help, No time Left, Broken Toys
Now after watching...that was a lot more S's then expected! I guess I consider episodes like In Harms Way and Long Road Ahead to have very good individual parts, but they had a lot of filler that uninterested me which made me put them lower. While my top three are episodes that have my attention all the way through. My biggest issue with Long Road Ahead is the very long and mostly uneventful train start up. While I felt In Harms Way was very quick and a lot of characters didn't have time to shine, I always thought the break out was too fast and easy. House Divided was also a cool episode with a lot of setup but I felt like it was very low stakes until it amped it up at the end. In general Season Two just had a lot of ideas that never made it into the final production.
This left me with a lot of think about, nice list!
While I do agree that Starved for Help is a very good episode, I kinda think it was a filler episode in a sense that the story could have progressed even if Lee's group didn't meet the St. John brothers and went to their farm, while as Long Road Ahead (my favorite S1 episode) was still an integral part of the story. I also hated the fact that a lot of characters introduced in SFH only appeared in that same episode (ex: Mark, Travis, St. John family).
The reason why I loved Long Road Ahead so much is because it introduced a lot of different facets and problems regarding the group and the story itself. Examples are first time major interaction with Lee and Duck, Carley having feelings for Lee, the supposed leader Lily either leaving or being left by the group, the motor inn falling apart thus them inevitably leaving, Lee and Kenny's huge fight, start of Kenny's downward spiral due to Duck and Katjaa's death which I believe is one of the focal points of the episode's story, Chuck and his guitar, Ben backstabbing the group by giving the bandits supplies, Lee teaching Clem survival tactics, meeting Omid and Christa who took care of Clem until the first episode of S2, and the overall atmosphere which was sad but also calming at the same time because of the train. The ending was also such a cliff hanger since they were convinced that the walkie-talkie doesn't work and some guy is actually talking to Clem.
But overall, those two are definitely S-tier!
Out of all the seasons and episode combined, s1 e2 “Starved For Help” will always be my favorite one.

i agree with most of your list, but i would put S1, S2 and The Final Season's first episodes in S tier, i really liked those introductions, i also would put pretty much the entire New Frontier at C tier

In my opinion the new frontier was like a boring season but there were some parts that was mid and I mean there was just one death that I felt a little sympathetic about too but for the rest I didn’t give a crap because I wasn’t really that invested into it so I also agree that it should completely be in the C tier
This game series brings back so many memories. My personal all time fav is Season 1 Episode 2.
Done Running is S tier for me. I love the introduction of Clem and AJ with Clem being a parental figure for him like Lee was for her. Also the introductions of the characters at the school were top tier: Louis, Violet, Tenn, Marlon, etc. I loved the plot twists of Marlon giving Tenn’s sisters away and AJ shooting Marlon. Its definitely my favorite introduction episode of all the seasons
i loved the final season it was my favourite of them all i think that done running was deserving of A tier and take us back was S tier that finale made me more emotional than any other episode of the series

Not really? Why cut the whole arm when you can just cut the hand. Him being angry is understandable as he just lost his wife because of Clementine, you don't think when you're angry. It's shown later as he apologizes.

Replaying this amazing game series rn. Such a well made game.
I just completed the series for the first time! I played S1 back when it was new then life happened and I never got around to the other three seasons.
Having played through them all back to back… wow. Clementine is one of the best characters in gaming period. Seeing her growth through out it all has been amazing. The switch up from S2 to S3 was really nice, Javi and his family I really liked, and getting to see Clem from the sidelines was a fresh change at the perfect time. S3 episode 4 was by far the lowest point of the series for me, by god I don’t know what they did with the writing and gameplay there but it was a CHORE to play through.
And then, that final season. I did not think they would come as close to topping S1 as they did and tears were SHED. Then I was okay. Then I was crying again. Wow. Genuinely shocked me three times in under ten minutes.
Life is Strange 2 is one of my favorite games ever so seeing them take that mechanic of your actions affecting how another character turns out is so brilliantly done in both of these games.

imo bonnie had to be the worst character to be given an actual role in s2. so many other characters had a much more interesting background (i’m biased for wyatt and eddie) and they seemed to have an actual goal. (not sure about vince but he was so much more appealing than bonnie regardless) bonnie was too boring and her being the mistress and accidentally killing her lovers wife was just lame
I have to be honest I love season 2, it was the first english game i played. Way to young to play it, most defintely under 12 ( I grew up with Zombie apocalypse things like Resident Evil games/Movies and the Walking Dead Games/Movies). But I loved it and it motivated me to learn english to play games in their original language to not be hindered from playing games that aren't in german. It was only available in English and I could barely understand it at that time but loved the first one and got the second one as a gift shortly after release. But episode 1 is my absolute nightmare and I despise it the most out of all of them. Only because of what happens with the dog. Played it once, and since then always skip it when I play Season 2. I cried when that happend. Never again.
Reminds me of that old telltale TV series you did a while back. Miss that series.
I do miss it. If I ever get free time in the future, I might sit down an actually write a full script for the first few episodes or something (making adjustments and such)

@@RowdyHumanity that’s awesome to hear! I had some really interesting ideas for seasons 5-8 (8 would be the last) but it was so in-depth that it would just take too long to actually write it out in a well written way. Maybe one day I’ll share those ideas too

I bet the games will get a slight bump in popularity because the final season just dropped onto Game Pass. That's why I've just played it.
Season 2 episode 3 was somewhat of a turning point for me. Characters were being killed quicker than they could be developed. They were really stretching the believability of what adults expected from an 11 year old. And the game leaned on the preestablished character of Kenny until Clementine, the player, and the game studio began developing a toxic relationship with him. I really enjoyed the episode, but many of the deeper problems I have with the franchise can be traced back here.
Edit: and I don't mean Kenny was poorly written. Highly recommend this video essay about his character by Innuendo Studios. If the writers intended it or not, Clementine and by extension the player, became invested in an unhealthy relationship

Season 2 was just god awful because of everything you mentioned, and season 3... ohhhhhh don't even get me started.
I think even Kenny realized how toxic he was which is why staying at Wellington is the best possible ending for Clem and AJ. I love Kenny but he was a loose cannon. Would still choose him over Jane any day though
I think Season 4 was amazing with how much emotion is draws in playing it
I feel like season 4 is just alright overall but it’s definitely elevated quite a bit for ending things well for me especially with how often the ending of things gets messed up

I've only played a chunk of season 1 multiple times because each episode costs money instead a lump sum purchase of a season. But I've watched entire playthroughs of the four core seasons because I was addicted to the storyline. I need to get all the games so I can have my own choices but luckily the playthroughs all sided with Kenny at the end of season 2 because of course. And luckily the season 4 playthrough I watched shot Lily because sparing her would have pissed me off.

So I've had an idea for a new TWD game. So when clem shot lee she looked away and the gun veered off to the left, what if she missed but didn't want to see lee shot so she never looked back and she didn't see that she missed, and when lee passed out it was either due to blood loss if you cut his arm off or if you left it on it was cos of the bite but he hadn't died yet and then molly finds him and either chops off his arm and does the heat thing AJ does to clem or just finds him n does the heat thing and then they leave the city once lee is well enough and start their hunt for clem.
Along the way lee finds christas body and Mike and the Russian guy who remember clem and Kenny talking about lee, they decide to help lee and molly by taking them to wellington but they soon find out it's been destroyed. Soon after they stumble upon Richmond which has been at war with the delta for a long time. Lee meets Javier and finds out the deltas been using kids to fight, Lee asks if he's seen a girl with a blue hat with a D on it. Javier instantly knows he's talking about clem and takes him to see Lily if you let her live or a new character that they found at the wreckage of Lily's boat. They tell lee about the school. Immediately lee and his new group set off to find clem and along the way they meet some new people, some good, some bad. But eventually they find the school. The RV that is mentioned at the end of season 4 contains Lee, and they are reunited after 9 long years of searching.

Interesting idea but I personally wouldn't like the idea of Lee still being alive. He had a great ending, and it meant a lot to the story. Now Kenny on the other hand should return. Because in some of the Season 2 endings, he does remain alive so they should just make one of those canon.

I actually thought Starved for Help was the weakest ep from S1. The Larry decision was the highlight but other than that I didn't really buy into it, the other choices didnt seem very good. The first episode I thought did a great job introducing the characters and shouldn't be demoted just because it's an intro. The worst part was the motel infiltration but otherwise was pretty solid
No Television program has this many seasons of storytelling and two incredible PlayStation VR2 games, in the home console space. None. The Walking Dead has the most seasons and the best games on home consoles. Now Saints And Sinners sequel is launching with the super advanced PlayStation VR2
To say TWD doesn't have the greatest story and games in the home console gaming space is so absurd. When you compare to what BB and Game Of Thranes got, they got nothing on PlayStation. TWD has 4 full seasons and the PlayStation VR2 games
Telltale TWD and Saints and Sinners are great but every other attempt at video games from TWD has been AWFUL. I would like for them to develop a first person (or third person) open world survival game set in the universe. That would be nice.
@@Xpertfusion Those you mentioned are MOBILE games. Mobile is always garbage and they are for the Casuals. The home console crowd doesn't touch or care about mobiles at all. All the "awful" attenps are mobile and mobile is always garbage for everything.
@@Xpertfusion You got Dying Light 1 and Dying Light 2 for that. It's the ambitious open world zombie game to date, though graphics fidelity are pretty last gen and average at best. Is Dying Light series' storytelling on par as Telltale TWD series? No. Telltale's TWD still has dramatically superior villains, characters, and storytelling.

I didn’t realize how little I liked season 2 until this video. Episode 2 was also S imo but 3 was more like A for me. Beyond that, 1 and 5 were B at best and 4 was one of my least favorite episodes in the series

Season 1 is easily the best. Season 2 is my least favorite. Season 3 gets way too much hate. I'm one episode from done with Season 4 but it's been excellent so far. Still haven't played the Michonne miniseries. 400 DLC is neat with the whole interconnectivity via minor details, but beyond that it was was just meh on how it only resulted in tiny cameos in Season 2.

tbh I was really disappointed with season 3 and 4, whereas 1 and 2 are definitely the best ones.
Mind explaining why? I understand for season 2, but not season 4. Do you not like the new characters?
@@Xenorvya I mean the story felt pretty routine like the other seasons and moreover why I really liked the 1st season is.... First, it has a really good balance between the characters surviving against both the dead and the bad people which was kinda good for ME to connect in such situations... And also the unexpected twists at the farm, at that bandit group and at that final town where Lee ends up with that guy who kidnapped Clem and his back story... I mean come on who would even expect these to even happen..i haven't actually thought that even these small things which I choose can lead to these consequences ...and that time when lee'e group in that town makeup a plan and splits up to find the gear for the boat... Wow, that I really liked.... And the emotional connection btw the characters really felt out of reality for me. And same goes with season 2, clem's story had similar situations as the 1st one but this time it felt new with a new surviving group and enemies. I would say these two seasons WILL definitely engage any player to sit until it's done as it was obvious... But coming to season 3 , it had completely different characters from the first 2 like once I was connected to those characters and now end up playing as new ones...well that wasn't that engaging for me🙄...and moreover it felt like the people were only trying to survive from these stronger communities and fight among themselves and even though it got the walkers, that balance got slipped from its path as it had in season 1 and 2(that's what I felt).... And finally season 4(devs finally brought our lovable character back) which was a good thing but come on man I personally hadn't found the story that engaging... Same as the 3rd one that balance(now they introduced the new concept of living with dead and to feel them as people) which was kinda okay but a zombie game feels better the way it should be. And I don't find much twists in the plot like it was really predictable....it was pretty obvious that Lilly wouldn't give up so do the kids and like there were only few unpredictable scenarios that too revolves around AJ....and rest of the story only focuses on the peers and knowing about them was actually good but yeah it felt like everything just runs between the same group against the same group thoughtout the season... Like were there any characters like that cannibal family at farm and that like old doc who would eventually betray us, Jane and the group and many other.... I felt that such things lack in season 3 and 4 which eventually felt me bored will playing them. Hope you got my opinion.

3 isn't as bad as people say. I think most people dislike it because of the characters.
If I were to rank the seasons I'd go Season 4 - Season 2 - Season 3 - Season 1

My season rankings. 4.Season 3(It was a good game but everything was to short how they play Clementine was pretty good I'd give it a B+ I HATE GABE
3.Season 2 (After my amazing experience with season 1 Thai game blew my expectations out of the water and I love how Clementines is not some tough big rock and she still a little girl how's seen hell break loss and I didn't like Kenny in season 1 but now I love Kenny and cried when he died in the flash back from season 3
2.Season 4.(I thought season 2 was the perfect sequel but aless I was wrong in this one I loved the characters Lilly's return was good Clementine is fire as always and AJ I don't think some of the things they do with him are kinda unrealistic and well you gotta love Louis he's so freaking funny.

400 days would of been good if the episodes were like an hour an a half or two hours, u get like 20 - 30 minutes max for each story so how can u care about them?
Season 1 Episode 4 is by far the most boring episode in the entire series. Introduced pointless characters, the environment was terrible, and there was no significant storytelling. Literally the only important moment in the entire episode is once we discover that Lee gets bitten.
Season 1 is by far the best. Then season 4. Then season 2. Then season 3
the fact that the final season allows you to have an optional relationship with both genders is a great detail
might be unpopular but for me the seasons from best to worst would be 1, 3, 2, 4
