Wilkens played a lot of NT with the Dolphins, which made it easier to double him. In my opinion, the Raiders should play Wilkens at 3Tech on 1st and 2nd down and rotate him and Butler at the tackle positions on 3rd down
As far as being over paid, I’d say that is a ridiculous claim. Is he Chris Jones? No, I don’t think he can dominate the same way. However Wilkins is not far off. Plus we still have 30m+ in salary cap and picking up a FA DT allowed us to get a possible “generational” TE and a day 1 starter at OL.

It’s because you’re a Raider fan, if you’re a fan of any other fan base it’s all good, any team could have given Wilkins more and it would have been a “steal” even if they don’t have a plan at QB it’s only the Raiders who are the bad guys

DT is important. No more stepping up for mahomes and run for a quick first down and our defense ends will have the perimeters on lock so he or any qb is going to be forced to throw or take a sack

Hey Sanjit, this is unrelated to the video but after watching the tape on Dalton Wagner from last years preseason, I was pretty impressed at his ability to get to the second level, play strength and overall performance. I do get it was against 3 stringers but still I think enough isn’t said about him and how eager we should be to see him and his progression. I’m curious of your thoughts?

We have needed a dt for a long time, i bashed the raiders for missing out on javon hargrave, Only player i think is better to have is chris jones, since donald retired.

Totally support the swing for the fence right off the bat by Telesco. Wilkens is big and fast and is going to scatter the pocket. Our defense is really going to have a chance to shine. Can't wait for the season to start!

Agreed. Any other team or let’s say if the Chiefs gave him that kind of money it would be considered another brilliant and coveted move by Andy Reed. Since it’s the Raiders we get ridiculed and degraded constantly on every move they make from DAs contract to now Wilkins. This is nothing new. Bad publicity since around since 1960!

Raider's hve gd depth and quality talent across the D-line, they will show up this yr, jus need the LB'S & CB's to show up as well. I think another Vet CB would serve us well jus in case, couldn't hurt!

To me, both Jacksonville Jaguars players were overpaid. Yea, Josh Allen had 17 sacks last season. But what about the year before that. And the year before that. Both, Josh Allen and Christian Wilkims both has "breakout' years last season. But mind you, Josh Allen main goal is to rush the QB. Wilkins is a run stopper first ( top 3 DT) and then pass rush second. Every year " sports experts" talk about how much we need a DT to help out Crosby. It makes me wonder if these reporters would have written the same article if any other team signed him for the same contract. Every year it feels like the media praises the Broncos and rips us apart.
