Thanks for this video. Had no idea how to open the cover and to get rid of the clean heat exchanger prompt on the screen even after I've cleaned it but you laid it out very clearly. Great work.
We have the same dryer and even with regular cleaning the fins will eventually get packed with cement like lint. We are trying to clean between the fins, but they are very fragile. This is a horrible design. The heat exchanger on the Bosch condensing dryer comes out and you can rinse all the lint out. That is the only reasonable solution to this problem. Samsung should have developed a removable heat exchanger, which wouldn't be easy as they are dealing with refrigerant. Even I can imagine some ideas that might have worked. What they came up with is a machine that will not function in 2-3 years. Samsung needs to admit this failure and do something for customers that spent a lot of money on this design flaw.
I had the same issue , cleaned this exchanger with a clothe really carefully but some of the fins got damaged and now the insurance won’t cover the repair . I’m so gutted .
Tip: clean it after a few minutes of drying damp clothes. When the lint is damp, it seems to come off so much easier compared to when dry like concrete.
Hello. Same problems on mine. I build a frame from scrap wood. 4x15mm . And a pice of an old pantyhose pulled over the frame. It fits very exact in front of the heat exchanger. Works very well. The dirt doesn't get wet an can easily removed by a Dyson. Good luck to all.
Thanks for the video. I had to actually see a dirty one because I couldn't tell if mine was dirty or not but it has never looked like this so I guess I am cleaning it right?
I just bought the Samsung series 9 heat pump tumble dryer, I agree it’s a horrible design & you have to be so careful cleaning the heat pump filter. A removable one would be a much better design
put s kitchen filter in front of it because dust go deep inside and gons build up in a couples of years it will not dry no more and will take longer times!
I've just bought one of these and am now worried - I thought of a vacuum too but the heat exchanger is damp at this point where it collects the lint overflow. Hence the concretion. Maybe leave it open to air out for a couple of hours then vacuum it using the brush supplied. - Update - I've bought some filter foam and cut it to size over the heat exchanger - it catches the wet dust and I change it out after every use. Doesn't appear to have any downsides except I resent having to do this as Samsung have shown themselves to be a lazy useless company designing obsolescence into these machines.
I used vacuum. Worked better when it’s dry. But then I pressed the vacuum on the fins and it’s pressed them a bit. They are soft. I’ve had to straighten them with my fingers. Or try to. Mine did not come with the brush.

cant agree more! horrible design
I am already worried and feel sorry that I paid £900 for a drier . I will never buy any Samsung product..

Did the dryer fail? What happened to it?
My dryer still works but I don’t imagine it is at all efficient with the heat exchanger plugged up.
WW90M740NOA/ZE for $450 just died. Same shitty design. But thank you for the video.

What is pantyhose?

Omg I just realised I've been pressing later every single time. Thankyou!
You didnt realise that you pushed later and then didnt clean it until now?? What did you think you were doing?

How do you clean the tap? 🤔
Why they not design a 2nd filter in the condenser to protect from dust.
Bosch did
Yep, pretty retarded. Just did this process and thought exactly the same. Thanks Samsung....
I'm planning to buy vent filter that you can cut to size to put infront of this
is there no other lint filter in that machine?
I have the same dryer and i've solved this problem by putting a kitchen hood filter.
All the dust remains in that filter, not on that condenser.
Can you explain how you did this?
Explain please
How??
put s kitchen filter in front of it because dust go deep inside and gons build up in a couples of years it will not dry no more and will take longer times!
Mutvak filtresi nedir ?
so it's not obvious for samsung to add filter for the dryer 🤦♂1739
There was a lot of water in mine, any idea why?
Mine has water too, and smells horrible, I don't know why. The sad part is that I bought it 3 months ago 😓
I accidentally damaged the fins. So what to do 😢😢😢
Put cut to size vent filters infront that you can buy
Vent filters for like aircons
Surely a vacuum would work better ?

no, it is not lint. It is lint+detergent mixture that is stiff and almost needs to be scraped off. Design sucks.

Don’t buy it
Absolute stupid system.
