    This pedal is very sophisticated, the A.I.R.D technology is very natural feeling and of course, it wouldn’t be a BOSS product without being 100% customisable!

    Love the video Rabea. There are a bunch of videos out now for the GT1000 but it's terrific that you chose to spotlight the flexibility aspect primarily since the other guys only touch on that briefly. Good one mate!

    For anyone who is interested, I have just started using my GT1000 thru two BOSS Nextone stage amps using 7 cable method and the pedal is finally sounding like it should. The latest update adds the nextone stage as an AIRD output option and it sounds incredible and feels just as good. Tons of grunt, I can't wait to get them cranked on stage, it's a pretty killer rig now. Not ultra cheap but for a pro player it's well worth it IMO. Also the nextone is a pretty decent amp on its own and can be tweaked and customized to sound and feel real good. Highly recommend giving this setup a go if you are a tone hound, it just works.

    Excellent video, this is the first one that I've seen that showed how to maneuver the model without a long speech and that the speaker blocks can be moved closer to the amp blocks which for many would not be obvious. When I first got my GT-1000 I had already been using a Helix where these blocks are close by. I have two major gripes about the GT-1000 user interface.
    1) When in memory mode one can see the patch numbers but not the names, so you are flying blind. The Helix or Headrush provide both.
    2) One can't get rid of the blocks that are not used, like that long chain of delay blocks. I guess the reason is to preallocate DSP resources. There are better ways to accomplish this without screen clutter. The Helix and Headrush do a better job at that.
    I ditched the Headrush and kept the Helix. Now I've got the GT-1000 and expect to keep that and the Helix. The compressors on the GT-1000 don't thump and pop at high compression ratios and gain, which is a very good thing and the competition could learn about.

    Haha I bought the ME-50 in the early 2000s and still use it! Can't get rid of the damned thing because it just does everything well as a parallel effects unit. I don't use the distortions anymore but the Tone Mod section is key to getting a close match to your amp's tone so that the effects are pretty transparent when I put the pedal down. Actually I lied, I do use the distortions when I run it straight into the input of my practice amp for on-the-go demonstrations and those are still very useful, since they basically built all of the Boss distortions and then some into that distortion section. It's still a great floorboard!

    The main thing here is that the presets actually sound great. The Helix has absurdly bad presets and takes ages to learn how to get the right sound from it. I was a big fan of the boss MS3 when I used it for gigging. Boss has super good effects and drives.
    I run Helix pre-amp models through a Fryette Power Station into a Marshall 2536A cab. Can you take the cab sims and power stage off of the presets?

    Sounds great, but Boss seriously need to up their UI-game. Showing all possible slots of the chain and scrolling through single line parameter pages is just awefull. They obviously have great engineers, they need to hire some interface designers ffs. The mobile app looks awefull too. They only got it right with the TONE STUDIO software.

    • @GuitarsAndSynths
      @GuitarsAndSynths 4 роки тому +1

      Same with Kemper. Kemper has the best tone but worst interface from 1980. I think that Kemper and Boss need to hire better UI engineers to create a better color screen and user experience.

    • @DKprojects9
      @DKprojects9 3 роки тому

      This is probably my biggest hangup on purchasing. I debate if its just worth waiting for them to release a new multi effects board with better UI but that could be many more years for all i know.

    • @TheDilligan
      @TheDilligan 3 роки тому

      Agreed. I want this thing for the sound and processing power but every time I look at how bad the UI is and how much of a pain it is to do literally anything, I think about the easy-peasy ME-80 (which I already own) and consider buying a Helix LT, which is intuitive as heck.
      My one issue with the helix is the processing power. It doesn't work at 97khz. And if they wanted to in the future, I imagine they'd have to release new hardware to handle it, and it would probably be like $2000. Meanwhile Boss already has the processing power and they could potentially release a major update that fixes all of the UI issues. More processing power = more headroom for updates with higher quality modeling over the next decade.

    Hey there,
    Just a couple of comparison questions between the GT100 AND GT1000.
    First, on the 100, the Sub Control/Out allow you to add a Switch such as the Boss FS-5....or 6.....can't remember the number, just the FS part.
    This allows to to add 2 more Control Switches/Footswitch's to the GT100 making it possible to set 1 Switch, let's say, a Tap Tempo and the 2nd for a Tuner.
    That way you don't have to hold down 2 Switches at a time to access the Tuner.
    Are you able to add the FS-6 Switch to the GT1000 to give you even extra On/Off or Tempo and Tuner access?
    If you can add this Switch, it DEFINITELY frees up what's on the 1000, giving you 2 more access areas.
    2nd question: The GT100 also gives you the ability to press 2 Controls Simultaneously, allowing to to view the unit, making it look EXACTLY as a Floorboard would look.
    It lays out your Effects with the corresponding Control Switches underneath, allowing you to view it as if you had a Complete, 100lb, Multi Thousand Dollars of Pedals at your feet.
    Does the GT1000 allow you to change what's shown on the Screen?
    Basically, giving the opportunity to actually SEE your Effects as if they are the actual Pedals.
    I'm ready to snag one of these as of like, as soon as my local BIG BOX STORE opens up Monday morning.
    I'm tired of lugging around my 2 Ton Pedalboard and 1 Ton Amp, along with the MULTIPLE Axes!!!
    I'm ready to snag my GT of choice and my Guitar, hop on a Jet back home to Memphis, TN to jam with some old friends!!!
    Thank you for your time, information and for making your Videos!!
    They're a TREMENDOUS job!!

    which one would you prefer the helix or the boss ... Ampsoundwise?

    Rabea I always respect your honest opinions in your videos. In the other videos I have seen on the GT1000, including yours, the tones sound pretty darn good. I am at the point of comparing the AXE, Helix, and now GT1000 for purchase. How do you like the tones from clean to high gain and all the mods and delays?

      @LeviBulger 6 років тому

      Jack Price just don't get a helix. They sound awful and grainy. Boss if you want boss exclusive algorithms like a fantastic chorus and rotary. Or axe if you want a great interface

      Felix, thanks for the input. Since you mentioned it, that was the impression I have been getting on the Helix tones. Definitely the AXE UI is amazing. Lets face it, if you are a performing musician, the primary reason for getting a multi-effects board is the ability to tweek all of your tones and signal chain on your computer. You don't want to be messing with menus during performance. Boss in that sense needs to work on the UI. But I am still really liking the tones. :-)

      Yeah you cannot go wrong with boss when it comes to reliability and tones. There's a reason pros have been using them for years.

    Hi Rabea,
    I did not find any video on fractal ax8, neither in your channel nor in andertons music. I wonder if it has to do with sponsorship. If possible here is a request from me on ax8 and how it compares with multiprocessor like boss gt1000 or may be line6 hilux

    Rabea, I have rented the GT1000 twice and each time I haven't found the amp models flexible enough to cover a wide range of music. All the digital multieffects seem to be focused on high gain where lots of mistakes can be covered up . There is no attempt to cover low to medium jangle and crunch sounds convincingly . And even with Heavy OD, the sound is always harsh. I have used tons of eq cuttoffs which never rid the sound of the annoying fizz. Also, boss hasnt provided an output selection for FRFR powered and running through headrush monitors is as bad as Helix, Headrush and to a lesser extent AX8. Is there any real convincing Digital multi effects out there or coming up?

    Can I connect an electric violin to GT-1000 and then connect the GT-1000 to the guitar amplifier or does it damage the GT-1000?

    I had the Boss gt100 and it was probably the the easiest to operate, and I’ve owned several other floor units, now I haven’t actually tried the new boss Katana stuff or this unit, but my main gripe about the gt100 was it sounded kinda sterile as compared to the Hd500, so I did end up selling it and buying a Hd500x but I have simply grown tired of the way the editing works, I’m the kinda guy who likes to do all the editing on the unit itself,
    I think I’d really like to try this unit, seems kinda pricey for a couple hundred more I can get the Ax8 used so idk 😐

    Hello! I want to ask 2 things about GT-1000.
    First, Im rarely using the bluetooth function, but yesterday when i was practising and I wanted to use metronome, i was trying to control the metronome via bluetooth and i coulnt see any choice that you could control it, even turn it on or off. Im the only one that cant use the metronome via bluetooth or its not an option at GT-1000?
    Second, Its really weird for me that i cant store 2 patches with different output select. For most of my patches i use the "Recording" OUTPUT, however I really love the cleans of the JC-120 with the output of JC-120 return (its a lot different than when i have the output on "recording") , but seems that i cant store it, as when i change the outpout , it goes for all the patches.. Is it strange that such expensive unit doesnt have this function or I am doing something wrong?

    Are your trem springs muted on the N4? I thought I could hear them ringing early in the video that I've not noticed before. I might also be full of shit though.

    Im happy to stick with my Gt100 ^_^ (+ my Zoom G9 in dual multiFX rig)
    I dont see such huges improvements on that one
    The Gt100 has two big screens which make it so cool to use without hooking up on a PC
    Of course the ToneStudio editor is a really top notch piece of software
    The design of the Gt100 is more part of the Boss signature than this new one (more on the Helix side)

      @@johang.5776 Simply because you dont know how to tweak your signal chain o_O (as most of folks out there)
      You just rely on a single piece of gear N your R expecting that it will deliver by itself a killa tone straight out of the box ...it's just impossible m@n even with the most expensive units because it is digital simulations...
      That's why professionals use the expression 'coz it is a succession of gears which will create one by one your personal tone ...the Gt100 is no exception !! (as other pieces of equipment)
      If you R aiming for the sound of a particular real amp ...just buy the real amp ^^ (N break up the bank)
      If you want a "palette/range" of mythic guitar amp/pedals/cabs/N such which sounds really close to the originals in a easy to carry or small format (N ways more cheaper) just get a cool multiFX unit +++ It is so simple +++

    From what I hear, it sounds approx. 500x better than the Line6 Helix. UI surely is better on the Helix.

      Christoph K. Agreed. Helix sounds awful. These actually sound like legit fx and not artificial like line 6 garbage. Wish the interface was better. But then again, how often am I looking at the interface when playing a gig.

    This unit sounds really great but it's seems not that intuitive to dial in :/, not as an helix or an headrush (which i must admit as less possibilities). Great playing as always Rabea ! :D

    I don't know if it sounded in the room like it does through UA-cam, but this sounds surprisingly good. I'm kinda shocked because I didnt expect that good of sound quality.
    Hmmmm
