I don't mind Doug Demuro trash talking the Maserati Ghibli because of him some people don't buy the Ghibli anymore =>which means soon I can get the Ghibli for around 40'000$. Always stay positive.
If you watch Autotrader closely on a national scale... base Ghiblis drop into the 30's all the time. Youd have to fly somewhere to pick it up and then drive it back
Loris if they make a 40,000 ghibli you can be sure it won't be a maserati any longer. This one is already pushing the limits of bad engineering and quality.
He´s not the only one questioning the craftsmanship and build quality of the Ghibli. If the thing starts groaning and rattling after only 30,000 miles, you have a right to complain. It may be relatively cheap for a Maserati, but it´s still an expensive car.
I find it extremely funny to read all the hate about the Ghibli. It's always "it has buttons from a Dodge or Jeep" or "it's an overpriced Chrysler". Like Maserati is the only one doing this. Nobody mentions the the virtual cockpit in the Lamborghini Huracan is the same one you can get in a Vw or the navigation system in a rolls-royce is the same thing you get in a 2 series. Everyone likes to give Maserati shit for having a few buttons but no one mentions other brands. The way I see it is haters gonna hate. Love your car. It's gorgeous.
@@Timesplitter888 Doug DeMuro critized pretty much all Maseratis he had! I've watched every single video! He never said anything bad about any of the engines! He loved the sound and liked how the cars drove!
I agree. This car is in a class by itself, you buy it for its unique personality. For the 2017 models, they now have all the "basic" safety technologies that you need like blindspot, 360 camera, and adaptive cruise control. The people who are in the market for this car don't want self driving or self parking. They want to enjoy the cars and drive. Thats why people buy these cars.
You are right, when I ordered mine in 2015 the lack of driving aids specially ACC bind spot or park assist bothered me because of future resale value but finally if you need all this electronic stuff to drive tired and drunk, you should not be driving it: a Ferrari type light and powerfull hydraulic steering with variable ratio, a pure mechanical self locking rear differential by GKN is not an Audi type high tech electric steering with intrusive ESP grinding rubber at the heavy front, but the best of old style, fully balance front/rear 50/50 is enjoyable and damm efficient once you got used to such high variable ratio, a feature testers hated when BM introduced it but that users loved and ordered massively. You miss all that fun with a self driving function and self steering car. Got a fully loaded Golf R used daily for that and despite being 17% lighter, 25% less powerfull, such hot hatch is great and relaxing but only a pale placebo of a Ghibli..uncomparable.
Many people take reviews in a single dimensional perspective...the day i drove the Ghibli SQ4 was the day i dumped that narrow minded manner of viewing cars. The experience is what makes it all worth it, that given experience cannot be relayed through videos or pictures. Go out to the dealerships and ride/drive one. This is such a unique car and I am so happy to see the shared values that you have of it. Great video and keep it up!
Online, Ghibli shit talkers are super freakin common, they fill up comment sections on just about every single vid or article . They are keyboard rangers who thrash it...yet drive civics, optimas, altimas, etc in real life. What's funny is that if you actually have a Ghibli in real life you are an all star and no haters are really anywhere to be found.
I have 2016 Honda Civic sedan as my daily driving car while my wife has a 2019 Ghibli SQ4. Does that qualify me to negatively critique her car based upon your perception of Maserati naysayers?🤔🤔
As a Ghibli owner, and a huge FCA fan....I know my car isn’t perfect, but i still enjoy the other 1000’s of reasons why I love it, and not focus on the imperfections. I also own a Audi A5 which has a lot of VW parts in it,and its not perfect either so....keep up the good videos Ron! Thank you
Maserati time, Maserati life. Good bye BMW, Mercedes, panamera , this car has class and they turn head on the street if is Chrysler who cares is MASERATI. Sorry hate's ✌😛
i feel you on this one. Car guys are always telling me how my Ghibli S is less powerful than a lot of other cars in the same price bracket but at the end of the day i would much rather have a Ghibli s than anything else. The reaction people have when you say you own a Maserati is so much better than if i were to say i own a BMW 5 series. Power and Tech aside, the Ghibli is so much more interesting and better looking than a 550i so Doug DeMuro can do one.
Furthermore, i also own a Lexus RX450h 2017 with all the tech on it you could ever need; 360 degree camera, adaptive cruise control, HUD, BSM, it is a great car but my Maserati is just so special to drive and makes me happy when i am in it.
Thank you for getting me back on track I was so upset watching dougs video I am saving for my maserati and in a few months I will be getting one keep up the good work I watch every one of your videos.
what Doug and so many fail to realize is that the windows switches are a carry over from the previous Mercedes Benz models during Chrysler Daimler. The Ghibli is spec sensitive and does have some quirks but it's a beautiful car to drive and makes you feel special. rationally it makes less sense but that's the beauty .
Davide F. ....... It's like owning an Alfa Romeo..... They made a car as good as a car can be.... Briefly 😂😂.... You buy a car for the drama and emotion.... Getting from A to B is just so boring
The Ghibli is an Italian work of motoring art. Along with the new Alfa Romeo Giulia, these two exceptional performance sedans are revolutionizing the mid level luxury sedan market. They are a breath of fresh air for the tired German threesome of Audi, Mercedes and BMW. Which are all excellent cars mechanically in their own right, but lacking something in looks, performance or overall pizzazz. I am very pleased FCA decided to return to the US market with two medium to high priced sedans that now offer the consumer an opportunity to own and drive something Italian. With so many cars from Asia, Germany, Mexico and the USA, the only thing lacking here were cars from Italy. There is no reason to hate on these cars. They exemplify taste and elegance, high performance and unique Italian styling. No car is perfect and neither are cars from Japan.
I had a Benz A45 before getting my 2019 Gransport S. Yep the Benz was very reliable and fun and yes they are 2 very very different cars but my gosh driving the Ghibli is a whole different world to any car I’ve had before. They make Benz feel very sterile, I absolutely bloody love it.
Saw Doug's video. It pretty much aligns with the majority of reviews in papers and magazines over here in the UK. It doesn't have a whole bunch of features such as lane warning etc etc. Great, all true, all facts. What it, and most of the reviews, misses is that none of that matters. My Ghibli S is a 177 mph Maserati powered by a Ferrari built engine. It has an engine note to die and people look when you drive past.
Ron I just became a subscriber sir. I can appreciate your level headedness. Also I can appreciate the fact that just because a guy like Doug Demuro bashes your car you got the balls to say "Hold up bro...my car ain't trash." Good on you.
I totally agree with you, you cannot understand the brand until you have had personal experience with it, I love my car and I'm sure many other owners do too! At the end of the day it is not for others to call someone's purchase "idiotic" etc... As personal money as been spent on it, buying the car doesn't hurt or offend anyone, people just seem to get offended, but I am thoroughly enjoying your channel keep up the good work and informative videos! (This is also not my channel, it is my sons I do not have my own, just so you know I'm not "BOOMDEAD games " or whatever it is lol).
Lmao thanks, hope your son doesn't mind but thanks for chiming in, love hearing from other owners because that's who matter most in my eyes. Owners and curious future owners so thanks again for adding to the comments!
Rons Rides I hope my son doesn't mind either lol, but it's no problem, it is interesting for me also seeing what other owners thoughts are with the brand, and yes, I too agree that those who already own and are looking to own in the future get all the information and help they can get, be it with problems with the car, the best options and so on. I try to help people with these choices but no near as a scale compared to you haha.
Ron loved your take on this. I myself own a 2016 ghibli sq4 which you actually showed a pic of in your video here (black one/3 pics in photo). I seen that video you spoke of and was actually pretty shocked at that review. I've had mine a little over a year and have put nearly 18K miles on it without any issues what so ever. Yes, they're are a few things I agree on in regards to that video review so I get that. When I was looking for a car I could have bought any model of BMW or a Benzo but when it came down to it there is plenty of those on the road that all look very similar and to be honest nearly everyone including myself just totally ignores. I wanted something different and me being sort of different from most made sense in me getting one. Every single day I drive my car it turns heads, people (friends) tell me OMG can't believe I am in a Maserati. It sounds amazing and looks so damn sleek/mysterious & the ladies love it haha... Hey to each his/her own, I'm making the payments so why even care what others think. The guy who did the review is actually very smart car wise and love watching his reviews, funny dude to so no hate on what he said about the car. I really appreciated you coming out on this video and speaking out for us Ghibli owners. You did it with a touch of class homie (classy car translates over to classy person). Stay up and have an amazing weekend. Love yo whip to!!! #PeaceOut🏎💨💨💨 ✌️😎
Thanks Paul and I'm glad you didnt mind me using your message! Yeah no hate, hes giving out facts but he won't be able to tell you what its like to own one. Both the joys and pain so thats why I stepped in. Just was trying to let everyone know before they got on my videos talking trash lol. Really dope hearing about your experiences with the car and even better than you're loving the shit out of it. Stay up man, enjoy!
Driven 93'000 kilometers (58'000 miles) of pure enjoyment without any flaws. The only thing I had was a broken indicator and that was it. Still enjoying it, still looks good although without the higher end entertainment section (being the first series produced). My highlights: the smooth operating and powerful engine and a fantastic sound! Don't understand the critics at all.
I agree with everything you said I have a ghibli with blue interior and had multiple luxury cars The Maserati ghibli is great and a treat to drive.i haven't had a problem yet and Maserati has treated me like royalty.
I have just bought a 2016 Maserati Ghibli S over the weekend, I loved the feeling I had when driving it!What helps my piece of mind is that I bought it from the only Maserati dealer in the south island of New Zealand, and it came with full service history etc
Somebody must really hate Maserati to talk so much trash about the ghibli. Ron at least you are honest and now I am really considering buying one. My entry level sport car. Thanks again. Keep up with the good work.
As a Ghibli owner, I was quite disappointed with his review. His Ghibli didn't have many options and because of that, he trashed the car as though the options didn't exist. In the review he does say a few good things but imo, it was just so that Ghibli owners don't go all out and trash him.
I honestly love the Ghibli, it's like a dream car for me, i only started loving this car from your first Masersti from your RPO channel as you give an owners insight! Also you probally see me on every video commenting here on your YT videos just on the looks of your Ghibli ! 😂
I appreciate the comments and glad after watching you still enjoy the car. Can't wait until you get one of your own one day so you can enjoy it even more!
While your videos are not perfect I really like that your channel is focused on FCA cars specifically Maserati. I really think there is no one else doing this. I truly hope your channel and you have a lot of success in the future.
Hey brother, I just bought a 2014 QS4 with 14K miles . $37k out the door. Now , for that money this car is amazing ! You got to remember, Doug’s video is reviewing the car from a potential buyers perspective. For $88 grand new I could be sitting in a B7 alpina, or something like a year old S550 . He’s comparing what you get for the price and I’m with Douge. This is not the car to get the most BANG for your Buck new. However , for sub 40K and adding Maserati’s new CPO 6 year unlimited mile warranty , This is a hella Bargin . And I’m with you now , I love my maserati😀
eddieJDM100 thank you. Doug was talking about how the car wasn’t worth the price and compared it to luxury cars with a similar size (the 5 series). It wasn’t just bashing, he tried to make his review objective and gave it a similar run down as all his other videos, only this time he compared it to cars that do luxury better. He even said it was one of the best handling cars in its size and class, but he couldn’t think of a reason to buy it over a 5 series. He even said this car is tempting for the prices you can get it for on the used market. It’s not that he just hated the car, it’s that he couldn’t understand why it costs so much. I’m taking Doug’s side in that this car’s quality and features aren’t at the level of its price point, but that also doesn’t mean I don’t like this car. I can’t justify it costing $80 grand because at that price I’d rather get a well speced 5 series or e class, but a CPO one at half that price is extremely tempting.
To be fair his title states why NOT to get one. Hint he is going to talk about stuff he doesn't like about it. I like his videos but I also like your video. People that plan on buying one need to see multiple reviews And better yet go try the car and test drive it around town.
Yeah I def get where is review is coming from. Since he has a large audience I feel everyone is going to assume that the car is trash and nothing else you can tell them is true because what he says must go, but thats not the case.
I get what you are saying! Thanks for the reply. I like that you reply to us! Can you please do a video on how much money you pay In maintenance services. Thanks keep up the great videos!
I have a 2015 charger R/T grey on red. This thing has the same buttons as my car. Like the window and lock/unlock and start engine is same in my charger. My red on black interior kinda reminds me of his only he got the more luxurious seats and steering wheel.
There's the thing that people never understand about the maserati unless they own one. I got mine 2018 ghibli month ago. Now I 100% feel you what you mean.
I think his issue more than anything is the price point for brand new ones. Which, I agree with. The sweet spot is getting one in the $30k range that still has warranty time left on it. If you don't like it, resell it after warranty period is up. You'll lose some value, but it's not nearly as much as buying it new. And it won't be at much risk cause of carrying the warranty.
Great car Ron I Love it i Got my 2017 Ghibli SQ4 because of watching your videos. i was on the fence about it but they sealled the deal for me( i had to get white also ) .. Its my daily driver I love the look feel and drive of the car. Turns head every day not just because of the looks the sound is sick .. I See BMW and Mercedes everywhere .. you dont see many of these.. and it out performs my wifes C 300 AMG in the snow hands down .. All those haters need to drive it... It is a entry level supercar not the fastest but beat 95 % of the car's out there .... Thanks again Ron
NR 29 ive always been confused as to why reviewers and keyboard rangers call the Ghibli slow. I have never heard any other 4 door car that has a 4.7 sec 0-60 time called "slow"
I am just an average guy, loves cars, buys and collects cars too. For Maser, I bought both Quattroporte and Spyder when they came first came out, kept them for about 2 years and sold them. When Maser came back to US, the reliability, depreciation and other factors weren't that great but witnessed things got so much better over the last 10 years. I took a serious hit on depreciation when I sold those 2 Masers. I'd not buy a Maser for this reason where I am happy to get a good lease. Ghibli is a volume mover for Maser right now. I will be looking into replacing my DD and company car in a year and Ghibli is on the top of my choices. I kept my Audi S8 and leased a fully loaded KIA K900 V8 for a change and ended up with a lemon plus there are so many things missing in a luxury full size sedan. I regret that I did not pick up 7 series, another S class or a Lexus LS460 but WTH, it is done and I am stuck with it for another year. The only reason I picked up a K900 is I like to experiment new things as I did when Maser came back to US and this time was a disaster and can't wait til I return that thing. I think Ghibli is perfect for my needs to commute, not too big or not too small with a little fun in it. All I need is to upgrade exhaust system to make it sound better (I'm a engine sound guy). I see that Maserati moves aggressively on Ghiblis so good deals are out there. For exterior, it is hard to distinguish whether it is Quattroporte or Ghibli from a distance same as Audi A6 and A8 these days. I personally think Ghibli is a great looking, fun car as OP says. Levante is another option in my head but who knows.... So far, I have my eyes on Ghibli. I will have 3 Italian sisters in my garage from the same factory.
Really good to hear from you seeing that you have a rich history in the brand and know what its like to own these cars, you also know the market and how it works. Like you said, the Ghibli is a volume mover and doesn't fit in a specific market but has everything you need, not everything you want. There's a difference, I just dont think everyone realizes that. Thanks your words Brian.
Hi, Italian cars are little temperamental... I have 2 Italian cars in my garage right now from Maranello and had few others before. You have to accept that.. If you do not like it, then go to Honda, Toyota and whatever. They are all boring but extremely reliable cars that you will never have to worry about little problems. I am personally sick of MB and BMW's poor quality these days as all their focus is pumping up cars and throw them on the streets. I sold my last SL in January and plan to stay away from MB or BMW for a while. I think Audi is doing better but their prices are creeping up to MB and BMW's level now. When did this happen? MB and BMW's have too many models, options and sooner they will hit the reality if things don't go as planned. There is no more special about owning a MB or a BMW anymore. Therefore there is a PERFECT excuse to go Italian !!!! Ghibli is a nice car for sure and she is Italian !!!!! Maser currently has Ghibli, Quattroporte, Grand Tourismo (Soon to be replaced) and Levante... A great line up... Mid size sports sedan, full size sedan, Coupe and an SUV... I am ready to go back to Maser again...
That's the biggest misconception of youtube and other social media. Because you have a large following doesn't mean you have credibility or expertise on anything.
I agree with both sides. The ghibli is low on the stuff it needs, technology wise. I feel that they need to work on that and they did in 2017 but still missing a few things. Its also very much needing a interior refresh for the buttons and nobs cause I believe if i maserati fixes these things like technology, reliability, build quality, pricing. It could be one of the greatest cars. I have heard and seen a maserati in real life and it sounds AMAZING and looks AMAZING. Overall just a few things need to be fixed but still this car is beautiful, unique and amazing. Love your videos ron!!
Thanks Logan, I agree, car has only been out 3 years and they've made tons of changes. They are improving it every year so Masi is moving in the right direction.
Ron whats wrong dude.... Doug states in his review that "if you are the kind of person that cares more about image than pricing, reliability, build quality, performance, horse power, safety features equipment....bla bla bla"....then this car is for you. Your response is only serving to prove his review is right on the money. I mean you yourself admit at 5:04 that "he knows what he's talking about"....its hard i know.... i too was mesmerized with/by the name Maserati. I'm just happy n fortunate i got to see his video....yours too
I wouldn’t worry about what anyone has to say about something that I choose to drive and purchase with my hard earned money. If you love the car that’s all that matters. I bought an Alfa Giulia ti sport because of your videos and I love BMWS. I think I made an incredible choice and I love my car.
I think the lens flare adds to the look of the car haha. I still love the Ghibli no matter how much slander it gets and it'll still be my first new car in the foreseeable future
Demuro and few other youtubers are sponsored by BMW, Mercedes so no suprise they bash Masserati. I realy like it how they own the car for 5 minutes and know everything about it.
It took me around 12 months and thousands of miles to learn how to drive it, how to fix it, what to look for. Even here in Europe Maseratis are considered as exotics, they are more rare then Jaguars, Porsches etc. Don't worry that Maserati shares some parts with other FIAT models. FIAT cars are very known for it's reliability, so if they put some parts in Maserati they do it because it works great not to cut costs.
Marianek Kowalski i agree with most what you say but just so u know it: doug doesnt get sponsored by anyone, he said it in many videos that he accepts no sponsoreships from car manufacturers to stay neutral in his reviews.
I think Ghibli is a niche car, it sounds nice and it got a beautiful exterior. However, I still think it needs lot of improvements in order to compete with the bests from Germany. It is a big mistake for Ghibli to share parts with Chrysler and the techs in the car are outdated.
Agreed and they've been making so many nice touches and improvements over the years, the parts sharing happens with a lot of big companies, I mean Ferrari develops their engines but buttons by Chrysler lol. Just saving costs where it matters. I'd rather it this way than the other way around.
I agree with cost sharing with other companies to reduce cost, but sharing parts with an economy car brand will hurt the image of Maserati and make them look cheap. I think that their biggest problems.
Just bought one 7 months ago… car is awesome.. Don’t know why everyone is hating them.. drive it everyday 15k i put on it.. and the car is totally great.. bought it used cheaper then most cars out there… and believe it or not… it smokes most other cars out there..
I must admit I was a little harsh the other day. Must have had a bad day at work. Sorry. BTW i test drove a new quattroporte gts the other day, and although there have been many significant quality and technology improvements with the 2017 facelift, i still noticed that the finish was a little poor in some areas. Cheap buttons, and some of the trim did not line up on the dashboard. It is frustrating that Maserati can't quite get the finish of interior quite right, as I'm sure if they did, the improved reputation would help them sell more cars. Yes - it handled and sounded like a dream, and is a lovely looking car. I am probably a little bias, as i drive a CLS 63. But I'll be honest, my car has been in for warranty work 3 times in the first year. So even Mercs aren't perfect ;-)
Haha thanks for chiming in Larry, all love. Was just using your comment as an example of how you can sway an audience one way or another depending on your opinions. Masi def has a long way to go before they get it right, they are working on it though. Love the CLS 63 though so I'm sure you're having a good time with that!
Love the vid. My only issue with this car is 70 plus thousand and the window swiches head unit plus controls and seat controls are the same as what is in my 45 thouand dollar Ram crew cab. I just wish they would have put more thought into those touches especially since they did such a nice job on the the rest of the car inside and out
I wanted a BMW 5 series but after watching your videos I'm considering a Maserati Ghibli or Granturismo.. I'm a fan of Doug's videos but I have a mind of my own.. I take in everybody's perspective then do due diligence myself
I saw Dougs review and he mostly trashed it for being a 80 - 90 grand car. I recently drove a 2017 and Started to wonder why he talked smack about it. The SQ4 felt much lighter than my 2002 porsche 911 turbo but its heaver by a large margin. But why does it feel so light? Sure footing surrounded by a great interior I found myself thinking this is a actual useful car. The 8 speed is quick and I was smiling the entire time I drove it. The navigation kept telling me that I was speeding almost all the time. But I felt great with the leather smell and the sound of the exhaust. Its appointed better than any of the jags I've been in and simply felt great. The maintenance is costly even compared to the porsche. I liked the Maserati better, and it will fit the whole gang. This is a great car and it will get you into any of the italian car shows right next to the ferrari clan.
Bruh when you pay 80000€+ for a car that runs agains M5s or A7s and even AMG E class you expect to get something special. That’s what he says. For the money you pay you can get much better on other brands. With Maserati you pay for the looks that the brand gives you on the street. With Maserati you pay overprice for a badge.
The video I'm talking about he released on Apr 19th of this year and already has 814k views but yeah I totally agree, its a completely diff car from when it was first released.
Yes, I was also talking about the video of April 19, but I wanted to say that his criticisms of the Ghibli 2015 seem outdated, the new Ghibli has almost completely filled the technological gap with its competitors.
The car does not need all this useless mumbo-jumbo. Design and driving experience in cars is so overlooked today, that we tend to get only boring-ass cars filled with useless tech. No, thank you - i want my plastic dodge button Ghibli more than a high-tech 5 series that has one or two better looking plastic. Why? Attention to design detail. Not sure how italians do this, but if a car with a bit of cheap plastics tend to makes me smile more than a precisely engineered car then there is something wrong with how other manufacturers make their cars. Tend to get bored with car reviewers and their ''smart'' criticism. Just enjoy the damn car. Nobody in high school wanted to date the boring ass nerd girl that knows it all, everybody wanted the hot ''dumb'' cheerleader.
Well said. "Useless tech" and "better looking plastic" don't make a car enthusiast happy, that's for sure. The design, engine sound and driving pleasure make this Maserati a great car.
Hey Ron, how hard is it actually putting the car in Reverse gear because Doug DeMuro said it's hard. I would get really annoyed if I had to do a u-turn and couldn't put it in reverse only to hear the guy behind me honking with rage.
No its, not, this is a guy who had the car for one day and isnt used to driving it. The gear shift is like a joystick, something that you'd get used to in a week. I back my car in everywhere I go when I park.
Michael N 3 hours ago DeMuro is not a real car reviewer, he is an entertainer, focuses on stupid features and not relevant details like window switches apparently from Chrysler, funny cause Mercedes GLS AMG uses the same swishes and nobody online is criticizing this, (: DM never commented on the fact that this car has great feel, performance, and refinement, all quality Italian and German components like Koni German shocks, ZF trans Maser/ Ferr engine, best Italian leather Paltrona etc Should talk about what really makes great cars GREAT like an engine, suspension, steering, paint quality, leather quality. Why Mercedes had a great reputation in the past is because it stood out among other cars precisely because it had better quality components ie great German engineering and material quality . Now reviewers do not give a dam about things like that but review entertainment systems in a car....SAD PS Had few new Mercs, BMWs, Rovers and and an Audi over the last 15 years and now have a 2017 Ghibli 30 K from new and would never trade it in for a German car of this era. The feel and refinement is a step above current Germans. Most people do not know what they talk about when they slam these current Maseratis. They are expensive sure perhaps not the best value for the money from the practical point of view but so is ROLEX it does not keep time better than a cheep watch but look at the quality of materials, same with other luxury items not worth the money from the practical view but oh so desirable by most of us (: Ghibli is a step up in overall refinement, feel and old fashion quality from 99 percent of the cars on the road in my opinion.
@RonsRides : Doug Demuro wasn't a long term user in this Maserati (as in many cars) so it's not an expert-long term user (as in many cars). Maserati are very beautiful cars but they carry with them some ''issues'' as any italian made car, if you maintain it well and show some tolerance to some problems (''beauty has a cost") then you will have a smile in your face every time you drive it. I don't know now in 2024 you still have this car?
I had sold my ghibli b4. Have a few parts you may be interested in. Rear lip spoiler in black. Small maserari emblem I had put in place of the ghibli emblem where radio is and looks much better and classier. As well as black emblems and the floor mats w black w red edges and red maserati emblems on all 4 as well as complete oil change kit. 8 quarts of ferrari pennzoil oil and new filter w ring for $300. As opposed to spending 800 at dealer and u can just pay labor. As well as 22' black concave 5 star rims with tires an extra rim that can be used if needed for emergency has small bend. Only 3600 miles on them. If u look on my page u will see video of car
I knew you would talk about Doug Demuro. I hated his video!!! It's clear he does not understand who Maserati is for. As someone that thought about getting the BMW I just didn't like it but I loved the Maserati. Maserati is for a specific segment of the GT market.
and I should add that I am on my second Ghibli. Had a 2016 base then up'ed to a 2017 S. The tech update from 2016 to 2017 was amazing I can't wait to see what they do for 2018 and beyond.
Haha yeah you know me, of course I had something to say and sense we have both had 2 Ghiblis, we can vouch or discredit anything being said about the car.
Most of the time people are taking other's opinion and not test driving it for themselves, honestly I like it, but it something about that Quattroporte........especially the 2013 body style.....
Really need your help as I own a ghibli and Maserati does not want to honor my warranty because my vehicle is US spec but I am in Italy. I am a Army Soldier and I did not move here on my own but military order. Can you please help?
As Ghibli SQ4 owner I fully agree with you it is a great car. I do not agree tough that D.Demuro would be competent, for instance he criticizes climat control ONLY from the screen BUT this feauture is duplicated by buttons below the screen incompetent or liar.. who cares: Getrag 8TC gearbox he denies is still the best TC gearbox on earth, the Skyhook by ZF sachs standard on all Lambo, still best rheolitic syst.. etc so these Demuro statements are simply non senses all over. the same switch in a 116 and M5 is no problem to him but a just similar chrome plated dood switch set in a Ghibli and plain black in a Chrysler 200 is a huge problem. ridiculous and bias is how i describes his video
"If you don't own a Ghibli then you don't know" Statement of the fucking year, well obviously if you are trying to DECIDE to buy a car you wouldn't own one, as someone who has €80,000 in my hands I want to decide whether to buy a car or not, and as someone with that kind of money I expect a Car to have the latest equipment in them, best quality build and the performance to be worth my time, those "quirks" Doug was talking about are actually deciding factors, because as he said other cars have it and the Ghibli doesn't, believe it or not the Ghibli is competing against other cars for my money, its a damn fine looking car, but its gonna need more than looks to justify the price because €80,000 is a LOT of money, you may Own a Ghibli but don't pretend its the only car on the planet that exists. I came here expecting a good rebuttal but the gist of your video was "ts my opinion man", you didn't refute Doug's points in anyway.
Sorry if I didnt deliver what you expected. Point is, I love the car and to each his own but cant judge a book by its cover. Go test drive on in Sport/manual mode, you'll be surprised.
I don't mind Doug Demuro trash talking the Maserati Ghibli because of him some people don't buy the Ghibli anymore =>which means soon I can get the Ghibli for around 40'000$.
Always stay positive.
lol another way of looking at it.
Loris Ruffino u can get one for less then 40 now
He´s not the only one questioning the craftsmanship and build quality of the Ghibli.
Thanks! And yes! Audi and Lambo share parts, etc. Everyone is owned by everyone when it comes to car brands, people just like to pick on Masi.
Lamborghini performs like a real supercar, Rolls Royce has the excellent interior & features, what does the ghibli have?
@@Timesplitter888 Doug DeMuro critized pretty much all Maseratis he had!
I've watched every single video!
He never said anything bad about any of the engines!
He loved the sound and liked how the cars drove!
@@salmansengul exactly
Exactly, you said it better than I did, glad you agree!
THIS! Thank you!
Haha yeah the irony, a wise man once said "Grapes are sour when they're out of reach."
They are sponsored by German automotive industry. Germans automakers are masters in propaganda.
because most of the people in real life are not car people
I have 2016 Honda Civic sedan as my daily driving car while my wife has a 2019 Ghibli SQ4. Does that qualify me to negatively critique her car based upon your perception of Maserati naysayers?🤔🤔
@Star Wars 2018
It most definitely won't say "Mazaratti" anywhere on the car.
I picked up the 2015 quattroporte sq4 because of your videos on the ghibili and I love this car.
Thank you
Well said! If I hadn't bought a Jaguar, I would have definitely purchased one of these beauties. Enjoy your ride!
Maserati time, Maserati life. Good bye BMW, Mercedes, panamera , this car has class and they turn head on the street if is Chrysler who cares is MASERATI. Sorry hate's ✌😛
Haters gon’ hate!
i feel you on this one.
If your soley buying a car to impress people, that's purely proving a point of what doug made.
Thank you for getting me back on track I was so upset watching dougs video I am saving for my maserati and in a few months I will be getting one keep up the good work I watch every one of your videos.
Really glad to help! Good luck with everything!
what Doug and so many fail to realize is that the windows switches are a carry over from the previous Mercedes Benz models during Chrysler Daimler. The Ghibli is spec sensitive and does have some quirks but it's a beautiful car to drive and makes you feel special. rationally it makes less sense but that's the beauty .
Very well said Davide.
Davide F.
Right Mick? You cant just state facts without mentioning actual ownership experience.
Haha thanks for your reference to my comment! It made me have a laugh seeing it in your video as I wasnt expecting that lol
lol no prob, glad you didnt mind me using it.
Ron I just became a subscriber sir. I can appreciate your level headedness. Also I can appreciate the fact that just because a guy like Doug Demuro bashes your car you got the balls to say "Hold up bro...my car ain't trash." Good on you.
1:07 I just noticed your license plate, and that is HILARIOUS lol!
I will buy one this month
Ron thanks for your videos. They helped me buy my Ghbli S Q4 in Canada!
I 100% appreciate this video, my dad is also counting on getting one pretty soon
Awesome, you know what color?
Bianco Alpi most likely
Driven 93'000 kilometers (58'000 miles) of pure enjoyment without any flaws. The only thing I had was a broken indicator and that was it. Still enjoying it, still looks good although without the higher end entertainment section (being the first series produced). My highlights: the smooth operating and powerful engine and a fantastic sound! Don't understand the critics at all.
Good to hear and thanks for chiming in, also glad you're enjoying your Masi man!
I agree with everything you said I have a ghibli with blue interior and had multiple luxury cars The Maserati ghibli is great and a treat to drive.i haven't had a problem yet and Maserati has treated me like royalty.
I have one and I love it I don’t care what the heter said
I have just bought a 2016 Maserati Ghibli S over the weekend, I loved the feeling I had when driving it!What helps my piece of mind is that I bought it from the only Maserati dealer in the south island of New Zealand, and it came with full service history etc
Yeah, I'd like to see the review again with a top level Ghibli and see what he'd have to say then...
daveangkl ...... Well it's like he shat all over the new Honda Civic Type R .... And he knew nothing about it from an owners perspective
Because Doug DeMuro said so!
I think Doug has it out for maserati, he's had 3 different models on his Chanel and trashed every single one.
He said good things about the levante trofeo and the ghibli ss
Hello Ron, I think your videos are badass. I recently bought a 2020 gibli SQ4 black on black . And I love my car.
Loving your videos. Awesome car!!! Just a quick question, is it normal to not have front number plates in the USA?
Only some states in the USA require a front plate. Florida (the state I live in) doesn't require it. Thanks so much for love.
In my opinion the ghibli is a great car considering the fact that I own one. People don’t like the ghibli because of Doug’s opinion
Much love and thanks for another owners input on real experiences with the car. Thanks again and enjoy your beauty!
NR 29 Same. I have a 2016 Ghibli S and I absolutely love it! Everything about is great. And most of my friends have one.
NR 29 ive always been confused as to why reviewers and keyboard rangers call the Ghibli slow. I have never heard any other 4 door car that has a 4.7 sec 0-60 time called "slow"
you don't see many of these probably because people know it's shit, also, there's no such thing as a C300 AMG you dumbass
I've long graduated DDs shallow focus.
And that means more time to binge Ron's Rides. 😁
Rons Rides yeah, good video. I really enjoy watching videos about this car. Exotic and amazing!! I watch each and every video. Good job
Sorry for the lens flare everyone, just cleaned off my camera lens after seeing it so much in this video, should be good by next video.
I think the lens flare adds to the look of the car haha. I still love the Ghibli no matter how much slander it gets and it'll still be my first new car in the foreseeable future
Awesome to hear!
Rons Rides your good man👍👍.....Maseratis and Alfa Romeos have got to be some of my favorite cars of all time. Keep up the good work 👍
The ghibli can pull bitches faster
Lmao word!
Demuro and few other youtubers are sponsored by BMW, Mercedes so no suprise they bash Masserati. I realy like it how they own the car for 5 minutes and know everything about it.
Yeah I wish they could get a top spec for at least a week to try to experience everything the car has to offer.
@@RonsRides they get it for a week
Marianek Kowalski i agree with most what you say but just so u know it: doug doesnt get sponsored by anyone, he said it in many videos that he accepts no sponsoreships from car manufacturers to stay neutral in his reviews.
they're still the best looking cars
I can agree with you there haha.
Nice review! Just came back from Davenport, I kinda miss Florida
I’m about to cop one of these
Just bought one 7 months ago… car is awesome.. Don’t know why everyone is hating them.. drive it everyday 15k i put on it.. and the car is totally great.. bought it used cheaper then most cars out there… and believe it or not… it smokes most other cars out there..
doug demuro has no bottom teeth
Plus, NO BALLS!
Ttttttttthis 😂
Love your car man I see them Here in California a lot that baby purrs so loud I'm still saving till this day lmao
Thanks! Yeah the sound is the best part.
love your vids man keep it up been following you sonce your other channel
Thanks for sticking with me, trying to make better content with the limited time I have. Appreciate it!
Love the vid. My only issue with this car is 70 plus thousand and the window swiches head unit plus controls and seat controls are the same as what is in my 45 thouand dollar Ram crew cab. I just wish they would have put more thought into those touches especially since they did such a nice job on the the rest of the car inside and out
Right, def understand that. But hey you get Brembo brakes, Italian leather, Ferrari developed engine, etc. So the trade off for me is okay.
Beside the Doug talk... GREAT VID BRO!
Nobody who spends $500 for an oil change on any car.. "knows what they are talking about" when it comes to cars. :)
Owners love it so who cares what others think. I’d trust the people driving it daily.
This is an awesome car, despite its flaws. If you buy a low-mileage pre-owned example, I guess it's a great deal.
Doug's video is two years old, Ghibli 2017 has definitely improved and it is still work in progress.
Hey, can you share some experience you made on reliabiliy ? I hardly find any longterm experiences on the ghibli in the net...
Yeah no problem, I'll post a video soon if you want to check back in.
Love this interior!
Thank you Steve!
The more people hate the more i love my sq4
Haha spot on with the high school reference, I totally agree! Thanks Vladimir!
Well said. "Useless tech" and "better looking plastic" don't make a car enthusiast happy, that's for sure. The design, engine sound and driving pleasure make this Maserati a great car.
just drove it GREAT GREAT car for mom dad + 2 kids
what a beautiful car !
Thanks so much!

DeMuro is not a real car reviewer, he is an entertainer, focuses on stupid features and not relevant details like window switches apparently from Chrysler, funny cause Mercedes GLS AMG uses the same swishes and nobody online is criticizing this, (: DM never commented on the fact that this car has great feel, performance, and refinement, all quality Italian and German components like Koni German shocks, ZF trans Maser/ Ferr engine, best Italian leather Paltrona etc
Should talk about what really makes great cars GREAT like an engine, suspension, steering, paint quality, leather quality. Why Mercedes had a great reputation in the past is because it stood out among other cars precisely because it had better quality components ie great German engineering and material quality . Now reviewers do not give a dam about things like that but review entertainment systems in a car....SAD
PS Had few new Mercs, BMWs, Rovers and and an Audi over the last 15 years and now have a 2017 Ghibli 30 K from new and would never trade it in for a German car of this era. The feel and refinement is a step above current Germans. Most people do not know what they talk about when they slam these current
Maseratis. They are expensive sure perhaps not the best value for the money from the practical point of view but so is ROLEX it does not keep time better than a cheep watch but look at the quality of materials, same with other luxury items not worth the money from the practical view but oh so desirable by most of us (:
Ghibli is a step up in overall refinement, feel and old fashion quality from 99 percent of the cars on the road in my opinion.
What window tint percentage is on the back windshield?
ask your mom
3% purple tint
This car is so beautiful
@RonsRides : Doug Demuro wasn't a long term user in this Maserati (as in many cars) so it's not an expert-long term user (as in many cars).
Maserati are very beautiful cars but they carry with them some ''issues'' as any italian made car, if you maintain it well and show some tolerance to some problems (''beauty has a cost") then you will have a smile in your face every time you drive it. I don't know now in 2024 you still have this car?
U can get nice one for around 40k, I wish they came with F1 transmission like u can get on granturismo.
As long as Ghibli owners don't say it's a Ferrari, I think people are not gonna hate on it.
Demuro is one of the reasons that Americans overseas will tell you that they are 'Canadians'.
What?
Most of the time people are taking other's opinion and not test driving it for themselves, honestly I like it, but it something about that Quattroporte........especially the 2013 body style.....
The Quattro is a lovely machine and yeah that body style. And the GTS is just on another level.
would love an update on this car including service history repairs needed.......then you answer your own question
Really need your help as I own a ghibli and Maserati does not want to honor my warranty because my vehicle is US spec but I am in Italy. I am a Army Soldier and I did not move here on my own but military order. Can you please help?
Brand new for 80k ..no thanks! Used for 30k no thanks! Rent it on Turo for a day for 200. Sure
That's not a problem, nobody is going to decide to wether buy it or not on the basis of a YT video.
Think a Porsche uses it's parts from Volkswagen and y'all complaining about ghibli uses chrysler
porsche does what it's supposed to do very good, the ghibli doesn't
people do thumbs up all the time when I'm driving around at least 10 a week
you have very nice car dude!keep it up it's a drivers car!
Thanks a lot, I love it so far!
Because it's beautiful.
People talk smack about it sharing parts from other brands yet Lamborghini shares parts with Audi.
Lamborghini delivers all it's supposed to deliver, this car doesn't
Whats the name of the beat at the end? That was serious!!!
Its a remix from 64 Zoo Lane. I put the link of the song in the description for ya!
Maserati can sing and dance. BMW is just a mad machine.
That’s not a cheap car, new and used, both similar money to BMW7 or Benz S
But much worse
I love it, but the rear is lame though
Definitely Philippe, seemed like more of a 'bashing the Maserati Ghibli' style video more than anything.
You’re video is way better thanks
"If you don't own a Ghibli then you don't know"
Statement of the fucking year, well obviously if you are trying to DECIDE to buy a car you wouldn't own one, as someone who has €80,000 in my hands I want to decide whether to buy a car or not, and as someone with that kind of money I expect a Car to have the latest equipment in them, best quality build and the performance to be worth my time, those "quirks" Doug was talking about are actually deciding factors, because as he said other cars have it and the Ghibli doesn't, believe it or not the Ghibli is competing against other cars for my money, its a damn fine looking car, but its gonna need more than looks to justify the price because €80,000 is a LOT of money, you may Own a Ghibli but don't pretend its the only car on the planet that exists.
