So here is my 5 cents. Spark plugs can be changed by anyone with no experience they cost $30 each= 180. Belts $200. Front rotors and pads = $700. Oil change= $130. Air and cabin fiters= 70. If you have patience you can do everything on this car yourself. If u want to spend money for no reason the total cost for these repairs will be around 5k.

I can do my own mechanical work, so long as the price of parts aren't bad, cars like this don't intimidate me. In fact, the spark plug job on that looks like a dream compared to the 1/2 hour I spend trying to get a swivel socket with swivel extension past the header on cylinder 8 in my firebird when the back half of the engine is buried under the cowl lol. I'm actually looking at a Quattroporte as a possible daily. Thanks for posting up, these videos are very helpful.

My Ghibli was leased through Ferrari-Maserati of Ft. Lauderdale. At the time of delivery, a service package was offered to me. The package included the first 3 annual services over a 3 year period for an astonishing $1200! I also opted for the road hazard warranty for an additional $1800. This one covered the tires and rims from any type of road damage. I replaced 2 rear tires and had all 4 rims resurfaced. All at no extra charge and w/no deductible whatsoever. There is a catch though. Both of these packages expire at 36 months. Seeing that my lease was for 39 months, one could easily lose track and miss out on their last covered service if they’re not careful.

Great video, I hope everyone watched the actual maintenance, I can assure you its really easy to change out your own spark plugs and filters. They did not do $280 worth of work, it takes about maybe 40 minutes. To put in perspective, you avg Doctor makes $85/hr. This Mechanic who simply unscrewed 6 spark plugs and screwed in 6 more spark plugs, made 3X's that much. Pay for this service if you are only too lazy to do it yourself.

Olivier DeVries Yeap and cars are different. Manufacturers have their specs. I think it’s BMW that has the 100,000 mile spark plugs. I can’t remember.
To a Maserati owner, is worth the price you pay for the “there can be only one,” stigma. I like it personally. Yeaaap, speed costs money, how fast ya wanna go?
If ya think the price of plugs is bad, try finding fuel that’s 95 or better on the octane rating. Speed has it’s own challenges. Aviation fuel, or AvGas, works well, but pricey!
I had to look up AMG. So Mercedes has a fancy car too? I’ll keep that in mind. I still love my Maserati. I’ve not been real impressed with Mercedes in the past, but the AMG is a sharp looking car. “Fun” sure has a new meaning...

Personally I do all my own work on my 2006 Maserati GS coupe, the dealer is a rip off at $170 an hour for labor. That little maintenance warning would piss me off, it's only there to force you to go to the dealer to get it reset and get the work done by them.

And l changed my brake pads from semi metallic to ceramic and there's a world of a difference between the two. With the semi metallic the brakes were grabby and they produced a lot of brake dust taking away the clean look of the car just after driving the car over 30 miles. The ceramic pads gives you a smoother grip when coming to a stop and they give off very light dust that you dont really see.

Any car in the price range will outperform a Ghibli and do better than it in the long run. If your wife wants more power, a Charger Scatpack or a Hellcat will demolish everything and anything in that price range and still more reliable than a Maserati.

I have had numerous Mercedes-Benz products and have never had any issues with the service nor with the vehicles themselves. It sounds like the Maserati has a lot of maintenance problems. Is that the correct interpretation?
