  • This is my second virtual walk through the (in)famous house located at 112 Ocean Avenue, Amityville. Again, my intention was to recreate the house based on the photos taken after the murders that happened on November 13, 1974.
    Facts behind this: In the early morning hours of November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr. killed his mother and father, two brothers and two sisters, while they were sleeping. On December 18, 1975 George and Kathy Lutz and their children moved into the house. 28 days later (January 14, 1976) they fled in terror.

    Update, December 7, 2008: I have replaced the audio (loud footsteps). I hope you like it. I couldn't find anything better in AudioSwap.
    ---
    Update, December 18, 2008: The Amityville Horror House map is now playable! To play it all you need is SWAT 4 pc game. You can get the map at:
    www.hot-swat-mo...
    A big thank you to "blackleon". He had hard work finishing the map, fixing all errors that I had left and making it playable in singleplayer as well as multiplayer.

    I lived in an apartment whose mood was not good. One night I lay down and when I was almost asleep, I heard a voice whispering words that I did not understand because they were said very fast and I only understood when the voice asked me for help. My dog snarled twice at nothing and he looked scared in the first month we lived there. What I mean is that I believe that spirits can continue to live in some places, but not everyone has the sensitivity to feel paranormal energy.

      I loved the original mismatched interior. I like the 70s style. If I were to move in I'd want the interior to be basically the same and definitely keep the creepy windows. I would live there if I knew I never had to spend one night alone there. I think my imagination would run wild. It's not practical to think I'd never spend one night there alone so that's out of the question.

I was conceived in the 70s but I was 9 at the end of the 80s and I wish I remembered more about how the styles were. I love watching horror movies from the 70s and 80s because it seems so much creepier with the bad quality. There was most definitely something strange about the murders and I don't neccesarily agree with all of your theories but we are entitled to our own opinions. I gave my opinion of the Lutz family on a another video and how I felt the Defoes were exploited in the book and movies and I was viciously attacked by a commenter for my opinion. He got down right nasty and said my husband probably fantasizes about going back to Afghanistan to get away from me, as if war is something to joke about. I ignored him and he still keeps carrying on and calling me names simply because I stated my opinion about the Lutz family and how I felt bad for the family and friends of the Defeos. That's why I'll just agree something was definitely off about the situation and leave it at that. On another note, Butch's room is so damn creepy!

    I never understood why would anyone need such an enormous house. It is way too big to feel confortable, it is unhelathy. No wonder that they are mainly people living in such houses who come up with ghost-stories. They feel lost and little and scared and haunted in such a huge labyrinth. I agree. The kitchen is small and thought perhaps they could blow out the DR wall to make it larger but then it would not be practical. I thought the dining room could possibly be used in the bar/sunroom but who wants to traipse food all that way?! I had relatives in a beautiful apartment in Brooklyn on the tenth floor with great views of Manhattan. They lived there from 1929 until they died in 1984. The kitchen was small, dimly lit and L shaped to accommodate the housekeeper live in they had. It sold about six or so years again and they did a great renovation and am grateful they didn't open it up but modernized it.

    • @fifteenbyfive
      @fifteenbyfive 2 роки тому

      @@OSTARAEB4 I can't stand the open designs of modern homes because of how noisy they are. More recent owners of this famous house added a 2nd sun-room right off the kitchen and dining room. This could enhance the kitchen if it was so equipped with appliances etc and it'd certainly make an awesome dining room. They also tore down the wall between the master bedroom and what the Lutzes called the "dressing room" (Defeos the "TV room") and made it all one huge room. To amend my comment last year, I have to admit even worse than the kitchen was the closet sized master bathroom. I suppose that's really the worst room in the house (this time not referring about how haunted they are lol).

      @OSTARAEB4 2 роки тому

      @@fifteenbyfive Thanks for clarification as I missed which was the master bedroom. I saw a different site where the dressing room, TV room was opened up to create a big master as I wondered where they were in house. The master is now apparently the two windows above the sunroom when one looks directly from street. I’m binging this lately. It would also be nice to know how many families lived there from 1927 until DeF‘s moved in in 1965. I don’t believe it’s haunted but I wouldn’t be comfortable there either. I also wouldn’t want to live in the immediate neighborhood as any drive by one can’t help but be reminded of this tragedy. I wonder where the religious statues and squirrel lamppost are? Were they stored away in PD warehouse or thrown out or sold or provided to other relatives? It’s such a beautiful house 🏡 but there’s no way I would live there.

      julia E For a house that big, it only has 3 full baths and one half bath. Most people think the house is located out in the country away from other homes. It is actually in town with houses very close on each side. So there is no septic system - it's hooked to city sewer. One house next to it was vacant at the time of the murders and the neighbors in the house on the other side said they heard nothing. A lot of people question, "How on earth was Ronnie able to kill all 6 members of his family within a 3 story house, all within a matter of 10 to 15 minutes?". Well, if this replica is showing the true locations of every individual's rooms at the time, how would it not be easy for Ronnie? 5 of his family members were all located on one floor alone, and were all so close together in range for God's sake. How do some people out there still believe it was impossible for him to be the only killer? The answer is it wasn't impossible. It was quite an easy task for him.

      The real question is how did 5 family members not hear gun shots going off. If I could hear a gun fire from outside while sleeping in my bed I'm pretty sure I could hear a gun fire from inside the house. A lot of it doesn't make sense to me

      +DieHardRomantic63 It was because it was raining and there was a storm and I believe they could not hear it because they assume it was thunderstorm...so he shot them after the thunderstorm made it sounds to make it sound like thunder...but it was is gunshots. Maybe I picked this up from the 1979 film. But there can be many reasons why they never heard the gunshot sounds...maybe the rooms was insulated with soundproof or maybe they were drugged? But I think the autopsy toxicology report found no drugs in their systems. Or maybe they are heavy sleepers? You..know Italians are deep sleepers and can sleep to anything even if there was a storm.

    Nice 3 D look at the house. RIP to the family. Our government would never admit to building over a burial ground or cemetery. Big fine for the city or town ship! We lived near a cemetery and our apartment was haunted but not by evil demons. Even the cat was starring at the dam ceiling all the time. Foot prints with leaves leading from the patio door to the front door?!!!!! We would hear sounds talking things open by them delves. Items missing. We moved out after 6 years. I worked for Nation Security and armored car at the time. We had the cops there fire dept. When I slipped and Fell in the kitchen tearing my ligament. We took our bible went through every place and leaving the spirits food. Just a negative place. Glad were gone. Pirry the next family that lives there. No bullcrap either. I know how the Lutz's felt. I believe them. But I thing George was practicing the black art. He opened up the door or what ever bad energy was on that lot. The landlord never told us the old guy before us died there and was buried in the cemetery next door to the apt. Complex. No wonder why the plaçe was çheap. Lol.

    Dawn may have once shared a room with Allison but from the pics it looks more like the guest
    room had become her room. Makes sense that Dawn would probably have wanted her own room
    at that age. Also theres the story that Allison would lay her clothes out on the extra bed in her room. She couldnt do that if Dawn was still her roommate.

    @aftershock71 I was wondering, the room on the 3rd floor has four doors in it, 5 counting the door to get into the room. Wonder what they all were, rarely do you have four closet doors in a room. The wall paper could make anyone go a little dizzy to say the least.

    I lived in that house a while ago. Looked very different than in this video though, went through lots of renovations, I guess. My mom's friend owned it, and we stayed there until my mom could afford her own place. I was disappointed to see that it didn't look like the creepy house in the crime scene photos with the black paint and eye like windows LOL. It was instead beige and had square windows up top. The address wasn't 112 Ocean Avenue like in the book though, it is actually 108 Ocean Avenue I believe.
