Chris GIlbert was such a good HB, he could run, block and catch. Moving Street to QB and Bradley to safety was an excellent switch. And the topping on the cake was the wishbone. Which revolutionized the game.

I never saw these highlights. What a good team that was with RB Chris Gilbert and Comer at TE. Plus Leo Brooks and Attesis at DL. GIlbert was so nifty and smooth with good speed. Plus they had Speyrer at WR. I think this was the first season with Street at QB.

A lot of people don't seem to know that it was this 1968 season that springboarded the Horns into the successful 1969 National Championship Team!
It REALLY would have helped the technical directors of "My All American" to WATCH this video so they could have had a LOT more accuracy. They didn't have anything right on the Texas vs OU game on this season, as they had the Horns in orange and Sooners in white. THAT is only on odd years. Besides, that was a tough and pivotal game, and Freddie had a hand in winning it. His presence was quite apparent in the whole season. So if any of you technial directors want to get accuracy, JUST watch the films!
I wished they could have shown the Texas vs. Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl - Texas won 36-14!
But thank you SO much for this historical document! I had the privilege of meeting Bobby Wuensch, and if I ever meet him again I'm going to exclaim what a TERROR he was to the opposition!

awesome. thank you for posting this! It s/b remembered as well that this was the era where the teams only played 10 games and the bowls didn't count toward the season stats, making the rushing, offense and points scored numbers all the more impressive.

I love watching college football highlights in the off season. It keeps me hyped up. One note, it's interesting to see they didn't have wide-angle lenses. They had to back up to get a wide-angle. This team was very influential as they developed the wish-bone. And I believe that the evil one, Barry Switzer, tried to copy this Texas team as much as he could.

This is a very underrated Longhorn team. Except for us old hats that remember. By the end of the season they could've beat anyone.

UH should have kicked a FG to win 23-20..
