- “Israel is a culmination of a hope that Jews have kept alive for such a long time.” - Susannah Heschel
Heschel discusses learning about Israel and Judaism from her father, renowned theologian Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, who walked arm-in-arm with Dr. Martin Luther King in the Selma Civil Rights march.
As a non-Jew, I just have nothing but admiration and respect for the great Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel. If only we had a time machine and could go back in time. I would have loved to have met such a giant as him. Such a beautiful mind he had.
Beautiful video. Susannah, you have a truly joyous and light-filled disposition.
Love that however it was too short, the richness you have inherited should be shared widely ♥️
Why am i crying when i listen to her words?
❤❤Very impactful 6 minutes ❤❤
Really well done, worth listening to.
Shame that you didn't grow up like that but became a feminist who puts an orange on the Seder plate! Your daughters will probably know and keep less. Shame.
Rabbi Heschel's teaching is so deep and important - 'The Sabbath' is truly revelatory - yet Suzannah seems to imply that Israel - a place - took priority over Time in his life. Did he really abandon his great insight. Sad, if true.
Thank you
God blees you
Welcome to israel
Well done Sussna
