I had to take a two-week break due to problems while I am building another super detail model. I needed a simple and beautiful kit that I could build in those two weeks; and I chose this. Let me point out, this model and the video were finished in two weeks :) It has nothing to do with any other video or channel. Lots of navy aircraft videos will come later. Thanks for watching!
Oh right I see, very nice model btw !! Both of you're two different approaches are interesting to see Keep doing such great videos dude :) Greetings from France
Lol, my first reaction was "I've already watched this". I mean what are the chances? Great to see how each of them tackled this kit, though, good stuff! 👍
Love seeing this kind of detail building. The landing gear spring is out of this world! I play guitar, so whenever I change strings, I keep the old ones for this kind of detail. Easier than making from scratch, but I certainly appreciate your work!
Just love the “old school” way of building...plenty of detailing WITHOUT getting all the expensive super detailing add on kit(s)....Just proper model making that is using “old school” techniques...BRAVO...I HAVE SUBSCRIBED...
I love these types of videos. Aftermarket is great and has it advantages but it comes at a price. Scratch building is more satisfying and a lot less expensive. Thank you for doing this video!
This is really an inspiring vid, as the unrelenting pressure to buy, buy, and buy more and more aftermarket products has become so overpowering (to me, anyway) over the years as to discourage many from even getting started. While they may be great products, the costs are well beyond many of us. Imagine a $125 model airplane! You've shown us that you don't have to go that route to enjoy the hobby and get great results! Many thanks.
Ahahahaaa! And that, mates, is modeling! Fantasy, inventive, impromptu ideas and a lot of scratch-built details! Otherwise, what's the fun? Don't misunderstand me, today's models are in a whole different cathegory: when i started kit building, they were toys, now they are truly magnificent pieces of work but...i still like turning a decently shaped toy into a true, realistic model. That's is how it all began, after all! BTW, absolutely GORGEOUS results, Scale!!!👋👋👋
Very nice build, mate. I like this old school modelling so much. It reminds me my teen years when I had so much time for modelling. :-) I salute to Your airbrush skills, It's amazing to just sit and watch it.
I really like the way you build your models and how you add additional details. I really enjoy watching this video. Thank you for making them. I learned a lot from your video.
I love how you use your artistic licsence to bring about the scavenging and replacement the crews had to do. Absolutely love old school, very well done, thankyou!!!
...indeed, that's how you would measure ability, ingenuity, craftsmanship of a talented modeler. Yes, PE took it all to the upper level, but there is still so much fun in the DIY world 😉
@@andreagiordano2689 I'm also from Ye Olde School (I began building kits in the early '70s) but I also see a place for newer tech, such as photo etch and the like. It's great to see such a huge resurgence in modelmaking and if photoetch and resin and aftermarket options are helping that then I'm all for it! :)
F**king magnificent! The steadiness and precision with which you work is jaw-dropping! Old school = more than awesome. There are not enough superlatives in the dictionary...
This is just phenomenal! I just bought a Tamiya Corsair and was watching this for some tips and tricks! This might sound strange (hope not) but you voice is so soothing to listen to when watching this.
Brilliant I love your work and follow you. THIS IS MODELLING! Not simple sticking Hundreds of pounds worth of the latest can't live without resin, etched and 3d printed parts onto an already very expensive and detailed kit.Outstanding Bravo!!
Hello Rahmi! I love the old school! 🙂 This kit is in my stash too. I have a soft spot for the Corsair. It was one of my better models in my 1:72nd scale collection as a kid... Another one was the Fairey Firefly. I wished I had access to Tamiya kits back then (in the eighties, behind the 'iron curtain'...)
Thank you Radu! Yes, The eighties were really tough for some countries. We also had access problems to some products in those years. However, it is still missed.
Beautiful build! It doesn't matter, A or B released what... Its a master piece and i had tremendous fun watching This One (and all others wich i always watch), being built and painted! Stay safe!
Dude.... oh my gosh. This is just pure Art. Good Job man. Awesome!! Thank you for sharing. God i want this on my display so bad. Greetings from Germany.
Well this is beyond impressive. Superb modeling skills! Very impressive how you added all the small details. Against a backdrop, one would have to wonder if this was a real aircraft. Excellent. Thank for sharing your talents!
It’s great to see models built without having to buy EXTRA kits (photo-etch, 3D printed parts) - thank you. I don’t always have all that extra cash to throw down on those things.
Congratulations on the beautiful creation. Can I add a challenge to your skill? Starting from the idea that hiding detailed parts is almost a crime: the cut of the fuselage at the inner edges of the cockpit to be able to show all the details at their maximum splendor ... naturally making sure that the cutted piece can then return to its place leaving the cut as less visible as possible. I don't think it's very easy and I can't tell you if you've already done it in the past years, in the last 3-4 I haven't lost a video of yours and I don't think I've seen it; if so, please tell me which video to see. Hi and keep it up: your every video is a marvel!
Great work mate! Thing I didn’t like: decals have no weathering effects. One of the best F4 builds imo though. Love the paint job. It would’ve been perfect if you had added photo-etched cockpit. Cheers!
Great buit! Actually, almost all airplane without hydraulic control systems will stay with the elevators on the down position while parket. But dont forget to put the control stick on pich down. And the rudders pedal as well. Thank you!
You must have much patience. I bought this model ( Tamiya F4U 1-A) after watching the movie: Devion. And I am doing this in part as a tribute to Jessie L. Brown. My ex- brother-in-law served on that ship.
Wow, truly amazing, great video, great talent and knowledge. I really enjoyed it, I've built two of these Corsairs, thought they came out pretty decent, but when I see what you can do, it just lets me know I have plenty to learn. Thank you so much for such an incredible build, done the old school way.
absolute amazing! I'm old, I remember making airfix kits back in the 1970s and 80s. Been thinking/looking at getting back into the hobby as an expression of art within me still .. THIS is incredible, thank you. Goddam, wish we had youtube, and artists like you (and plasmo) back in the day. Freaking awesome man! Thank you.
I enjoy watching, but I'm learning the basics from some other modelers, who model like I do , my planes will never fly, but I do enjoy watching the magic 🎩
Is this a Baa-Baa-Black Sheep conspiracy? Scale-a-ton, Plasmo AND Becker's Models, all at the same time, more or less :-) :-) . Great build, and getting back to basics is so refreshing (although your skills are hard to match), thanks so much!
Thank you! I don't follow UA-cam so much really. I spend my whole day working on the new build and editing its video clips. I have a build schedule and I follow it. Seems like people think I summon the model and its video with magic in few hours.
Excellent build! I wish I knew 1) what all those lines in the landing gear wells are; 2) the measurements of each; 3) what colour(s) each is, etc. And similar for the engine, cockpit, and the like.

Imagine a collab where they both do one half of the same model
This is one way to test physical laws. Bravo.
Can you build Lexington 1/700 fujimi? I think can be a good video
Plasmo and Scale-a-ton? This is a dream come true
Yeah I got a tad confused that they both uploaded today and of similar models
@@BaDArxz Like deja-vu.

And both of them are corsairs too
Double trouble..... it's hard to pick a winner.
Just a 12 year old dude from India in Asia, love your builds, it helped me a lot while building my B5N2 1/48 :)
The antenna work is truly unbelievable. You have immense patience and eagle-eyesight.

Maybe the best weathering of an f4u ever done. You really captured the beating these birds took
It's very nice to hear you speak while modeling. Explaining what you are doing. I learn much more than just watching a video,
I love these types of videos. Aftermarket is great and has it advantages but it comes at a price. Scratch building is more satisfying and a lot less expensive. Thank you for doing this video!
I really like your irregular paint effect (22:48). It seems better than black basing.
Another OUTSTANDING build, "Thank You" for sharing this with us...
I admire your appreciation of details and you patience !
Insanely good! thats what you can do when you dont have the extras, but ace the technique!!!!!! congrats...

Just found this video. Best paint job and weathering I've ever seen. The detail is staggering, this is my new standard to try and achieve
Best OOB 1/48 F4U-1A Corsair! The music during the build is excellent! Much better to watch with the new background music! Keep it up!
Thank you for the feedback about the music!
Stunning work on the fading and variety of blue hues on the camouflage - and the extra work on the gear looks stunning! Thanks for sharing!

I used your video and followed your painting tips as a beginner modeler and OMG! My model looks amazing thank you for the help ❤🎉

The engine was my favorite part. Those wires made it look so real
Really amazing. Thanks for showing. I really envy your steady hands. I love the use of different materials rather than etched parts
