Ganon is always so fun to play!
In a future video, it would be really fun to watch you cycle through characters online -- randomly pick one character to start, and for every successive match, switch your character to the opponent you faced in the previous match. It's like squad strike -- except the opponent decides your roster!

The reason I'm always excited to see a new video from you is your commentary, insight, and great attitude while you play. While I don't hate combo/montage videos, I don't think that's what I would want to see from your channel. Things like your movement and recovery tutorials are definitely something I'd be more interested in seeing from you in between the Elite videos and character guides.
I'm not sure if this is something you even do, but uploaded coaching sessions are always a great learning experience for me as well, and I think your teaching style would help people out a ton.
Just my 2 cents, thank you so much for all of your work that goes into this channel. I know it's helped me improve as a player.

  • @culex582
    @culex582 6 років тому +1

The reason I subscribed to your channel and check everyday for new vids from you is to learn the game. There are plenty of youtubers and streamers who play to entertain their viewers, but your channel is valuable to me because you play to teach, to share your experience, and to walk us through your thought process as you play your matches. Your positive attitude is also very good for the community.
I enjoy your Elite Smash series as well as your Competitive Tutorial series of videos and I do hope you continue to make those. At this point in time, I and many other people are looking into finding a second or third character so those series of vids are also helpful in finding characters that people can get interested in picking up. Some people don't have the time to experiment with every character or reach a certain skill level to gain a good understanding of the character, so your vids help people to see the potential that a character has and if it will mesh well with what the player wants.
I would love to see you do a video concerning advice on picking up a secondary or advice on character types and matchups. Since the game is still in its early stages, I understand that this sort of thing will probably not be easy or feasible until later on.
Another series that I would like to see from you is your commentary of pro matches. Some tournament matches involving pro players are covered by commentators who are more focused on entertaining the audience, so hearing your thoughts on these matches from a technical and teaching standpoint would be great.
Thanks for your hard work. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us!

  • @thayerbirch4847
    @thayerbirch4847 6 років тому +40

I think the elite smash videos you do are a good format. The content I would personally like to see would be an extension of what you're already doing in the elite smash videos. I think the comments on the match ups and on how you're interpreting your opponents play-style are particularly helpful (for instance the comment on trying to DI Zelda's kick but being too big addressed playing against Zelda both in general and as Ganon, and the comments about Zelda rolling after any commitment for an example of play-style). I think returning to characters for extra "episodes" of a character in elite smash could also help get a breadth of matchup knowledge. Another thing I would personally find interesting: occasionally walking through replays of your matches after the fact to break them down in an environment where you can pause the match to finish thoughts or focus on aspects of match that would ordinarily pass to quickly to say much about.

I'd love a video about punish game/ limiting options. I feel like I don't know exactly how to box up close (especially online), and I'd just like to get more efficient with my coverage.

LyricalTree 68 Combo tutorials tend to be a bit useless. Trust me when I say Smash is not just about combos, it is also about predicting what your opponent will do next and knowing how you can punish their mistakes. Yes you can learn a few tricks from combo tutorials, but you also need to get creative with your own style instead of depending on what others do. That’s how you get better at the game.

    • @jayaveNB

I would love to see high tier counter videos if that makes sense. I don’t know how economically your time would be spent, but for me my brother always seems to be a step ahead with his Main compared to mine. I would love to see a “Counter Cloud” style video, for example, all about the characters short comings and how to punish players using said characters. Not to mention I believe it could be very good content for you because I don’t see anyone else doing it, so it would be very individual as well. You could, for example, take clips of how you punish characters from your elite smashes and what not. Love the elite smash videos as well and would love to hear your thoughts on the video series idea!

To add to that, instant dash attack (input dash + c stick) covers no tech, tech in place, and roll away (the timing is kind of strict because you can't really buffer the dash). The only option it doesn't cover is roll behind, which can be covered by dash attack behind, down smash, or another flame choke.

    - high level player character reviews and explanations (example: Tweeks Wario and what he does well that the common player can adopt)
    - High level gameplay vid reviews (genesis etc)
    - character guides always great whether elite smash gameplay with commentary or more structured guides
    - concept guides
    - top ten lists related to smash education (e.g. top ten situational moves, top ten moves you should avoid in ultimate, etc.)
    - elite smash iron man video (would be a longer video) where if you lose you have to use the next character in line from a roster of a size of your choice

After a great tournament match, pros go over those videos again and again and you could give us a window into that process. Get a hype tournament set, and go play by play on top players decisions. More in depth than live commentary, keep the focus on teaching about why decisions are being made.

I really like this kind of video. This is my first vid of yours I’ve watched, and I really just enjoy learning from how you play. If you kept uploading videos like this, I’d be happy. If you take character requests, I love me some Game and Watch

The videos you have now are great and maybe you could do a Pichu elite smash or guide vid soon?

To answer your question, I really like your instructive commentary that you do doing your videos, you do a great job of explaining your rationale so I'd like to keep seeing this sort of video. I think if you want more subs and to grow your channel you should probably do combo montages and some more clickbaity titles (it's sad but there's a reason people do that). That being said, I'd still love to see this sort of thing as well since you're a very smart player and do a fantastic job of explaining things as you're playing rather than just shouting stuff at the game like a lot of more popular channels do. It's important to note that you'll have a hard time growing your channel if you aren't doing anything original or contributing something unique to the community, and I think your commentary style while you're playing does a fantastic job of separating you from the crowd and losing it would harm your channel in the long run. I'd like to see your channel grow since I really appreciate your videos, so I've been recommending you to some friends as well. Good luck!

I really love these elite smash videos. They're very informative and helpful. I'd love to see a pokemon trainer elite smash video at some point.

I like the guides. I mostly play Ganon, but I'd like to have fallback options. With this being my first smash game trying to play semi-competitively, its nice to see ideas on how I could approach playing other characters.

In addition to combo tutorials like mentioned before, also just a (categorised) combo video where you show all/most combo's a character can do, in rapid succession without much explaining except for some important pointers. Basically a video compilation of a character you can scroll through while practicing and picking one "Okay now I'm practicing this one".

I'd love to see a Sheik video. She's so much fun to play but I find it hard to find her kill options. Also feel free to revisit these Elite Smash videos, more matchups would be interesting.

i really enjoy the elite smash vids with the commentary.
Character match-up videos could be interesting too, but would require more set up.
    For example:
Young Link vs Pichu what each character's strategy is regarding the other and the correct ways to subvert that plan

I would like to see some videos of combos/ bread and butters of the characters you know. Similar to character guides, but more streamlined and offers a groundwork for a character that can then allow for people to understand what it useful and spend more time labbing

A suggestion is you could try doing a combo exhibition to show off common ways to deal damage or kill confirms.

I only play Ganondorf, Ike, and Sheik. I do not play seriously, nor do I even own a Switch (my friends have them so I get to play here and there), but my one buddy cant beat my Ganon. I can get him stuck on the stage using just Flame Choke. He would either role behind me, or recover with a hit. I would track him/dodge and Flame Choke again and again. It was entertaining. My roommate says Ganon cant win in 1v1's, buuuuut I do alright and have fun.
Appreciate the video, learned a lot more about Ganon!

I love your vids as they are, but if you added maybe a 5 minute guide at the beginning of the elite smash vids talking about bread and butter combos or really important things to do on a character I think that would be awesome
