Hi Zilla, thanks a lot for this video about my game. IMHO, the average gameplay length is closer to 3 hours than 2 if you play the 16 turns. I can't wait to see the next ones 🙂.
Thanks for the update on the game length, Laurent! I was wondering about that a bit, 2 hours seemed fast. Great to know. And thanks for making great games! :)
Love the Orioles hat! Just wait until next year! 👍 I picked this game up a couple of weeks ago, but I'm in the middle of a Western Front Ace campaign I want to finish first. I've been using your videos as well as Poindexter's videos to learn almost all of my new games! Great job!
Sounds like you've got a great lineup of games in front of you? How's that Western Front Ace campaign going? And glad you are finding the videos helpful. :)
Very interesting game fueled by your great overview...and looks like it could be expanded to different modules - events like "Blackhawk Down". Well done video.
I just finished my first play through last night, almost ready to start recording. It’s a fairly long game, so I’ll need to think about how to show the play through in a reasonable time. :)
Great overview. I have not had time for this one, but I played the first edition about 10 years ago and loved it. It looks like they cleaned up the map graphics. I like the feel of the old one, but that may change after I start playing this version. By the way, the MOG also has this style of map, and I love that one as well. This map style is really immersive. I'm really looking forward to your playthrough.
I'm excited to give it a shot. I'm curious to see how the house-to-house nature of the battle works. I agree that the map just draws you in, looks like fun!
Mine's preordered at NK. I actually remember reading the USMC Lessons Learned document that inspired this game back in the day! One thing that became dominant was that you fixed the enemies with ground forces but destroyed them with HE - bombs, tank fire or the like.
I’m so glad you are doing this game. I have been playing for a couple weeks now but I still rely on you to make sure I am playing correctly ha ha! So far I have been diggin this.
@@ZillaBlitz I’ve found it a challenge but the truth is I haven’t had a lot of time to dedicate to getting in the groove of play. I’ve kinda had to pick at it here and there so I’m still kinda plinking away instead of really getting it and playing through smoothly. As I said I am about 2 weeks or so into it and have not gotten through my first run through yet. Dang work! Always gettin in the way ha ha.
The components, especially the map, certainly have the feel of The Mog (which I love), but I’m sure there are some significant gameplay differences. Looks good.
There was a minor map fix they released - some icons that are missing. I think you can get PDF of the icons on BGG and then print them out on sticker paper to affix to the map.
Can I sue you Zilla for reducing my bank balance?!! This is not the first time I've been enthused by one of your excellent overviews and rushed off to buy the game! Luckily, Second Chance Games in the UK have got this in stock, so I've just banged in my order. Fallujah here I come (metaphorically, thank goodness)!
Oh, very nice! I hope you enjoy it and I'd be curious to hear how you like it. I'll be in Fallujah metaphorically tomorrow, if all goes well. And sorry about the bank account! ;)
We Are Coming Nineveh (Nuts!) and Manila and Stalingrad (Revolution Games) have similar urban themes, but are at a higher level of combat. I'm sure they are out there, but offhand I can't think of a dedicated solitaire urban wargame at this level of tactical. ... I got at the rules question in a roundabout way there, but I think you get the idea. :)
Yes, there are a number of clever design ideas that feel fresh to me in this one. The turning of the counter with Fired and Pinned like feels like it gets rid of a whole level of markers too. I mean, there are games where you turn counters to indicate strength, and I bet this has been done before, but I've not seen one yet.
@@ZillaBlitz Do you mean the next video about this game or? 4 months later, I'm wondering if this is still on your to do list, or if I missed an announcement.

I've not heard of this game but it looks very nice! I'm always glad to find more solitaire games 😊
I'm a big fan of "paint the map" type games too, so I'm guessing I'm going to enjoy this one.

My German pilot got his first victory when he was attacked by a French scout during a balloon busting mission...Onward and Upward!
I love the passion and enthusiasm of your videos. This looks good and extremely tempting!!!!
Thanks very much! I'm looking forward to digging in. :)
Excited to see you give it a playthrough! Visually it's fantastic to look at.
Still weird to see games being made about battles that I was alive for.
Yeah, as we get older we become part of history, don't we. :)
Great first look. This is right up my alley. Looking forward to the gameplay video!
Thanks! I'm on the road for a bit now but will be back and working on it as soon as I return. :)
@@ZillaBlitz safe travels. Enjoy your visit, I know it will be a busy weekend

I'd think the system could be repurposed in a lot of different scenarios, yes. Exciting idea!
I recall the first printing being rather hard to find for quite awhile. Good to see a new printing.
Definitely good news on the new edition, yes. I can imagine the original would be hard to find. :)
Omg, I can't wait for you to play this

Good introduction, Zilla. Thanks a lot.
Thanks! More coming soon. :)
Ooooh, I like the looks of this one! Looking forward to the gameplay.
It does look good, doesn't it. Really excited to give it a shot.
This looks awesome.
I agree. I'm looking forward to playing. :)

Nice! There are reference connections in the rules too, where they add some quotes from military sources about the campaign. It's a nice touch.
Excelkent explanation! Thank you
My pleasure, thank you for stopping in. :)
Great review as always!
Thanks Bill! :)
got this from Nuts, took 9 months to get ,haven't played yet ,look forward to your gameplay, keep up the good work
Thanks! Yes, it's just coming out now apparently, so people are starting to get them. :)

My pleasure, and good to hear that you're liking it! Our troops should hit the outskirts of Fallujah tonight. :)
@@ZillaBlitz shoot straight and move fast Zilla. Can’t wait to see how you do!
I feel like it's going to be challenging. That's a fast pace to clear the map. Have you found it hard?

looking forward to seeing this one played
Should be about a week if all goes well. :)
The older I get the more I appreciate 5/8" counters.
Haha! I hear you, can relate. :)
I hear you, this is part of the reason I love Flying Pig games with some 1 inch counters
Looks interesting and solitaire!!!
Be still my rattling dice tower...
It’s my not still credit card that usually gets me in trouble. :)
Looks very interesting!
I'm excited to play. :)
Looks great…will be a good addition to We Are Coming Nineveh
Yes, that's a good point, a good bit of thematic overlap there, although the scale is different.

I'm not familiar with that game yet, but I as well like the look and feel of this one.
Have bought this game on pre_order through an Australian Distributor. Heaven knows when it will srrive down here. Cant wait to see your playthrough.
Hopefully it's not too long to get there, and I hope you enjoy it when it arrives. :)
This look’s like Stalingrad and Manila from Revolution Games and I have both. Can’t wait to see the play through
Similar theme in offensive urban combat, for sure. This one's at a more tactical level, to be fair. :)
looks good

Ah, got it. I see what you mean. Thanks! I'll make note of that in the next video.
Does this one ever look fun. I love the puzzle aspect to each zone and I'm looking forward to seeing some gameplay!
I'm looking forward to playing. I hope to have a learning game going tomorrow. :)
Just bought this yesterday

Interesting battle. I would love to play it.
Enter to possibly win. :)
