Incredible craftmanship & cool puzzle! Personally I would prefer a puzzle with less "pushing and clicking" and more "mental puzzle solving" but I'm still in awe over this box!
even today, I am thoroughly impressed by the craftsmanship. So many other puzzle boxes have awesome mechanisms, and intricate little quirks, but the storage at the end of the puzzle is a fraction of the size of the box itself, because the mechanisms take up so much space. Its literally box after box after box, and the magnetic mechanisms dont used up any space at all. I'd say it was worth the 10k you spent, exceptional carpentry.
Yep, I don't know much about puzzles, but I know a little something about woodworking, and that puzzle has more than $10K of work in it. It's a piece of "furniture," and it's not the size of a piece of furniture that dictates it's cost/value -- it's the time needed to make it, and to make it very well. Even if the craftsman worked at Alex's $12/hr McDonald's rate, it would be way more than $1,000, and although it may be a surprise to those with few skills, people who can do this kind of work are paid more than minimum wage. Count the number of dovetails, etc. You do know that each one is hand cut and hand sanded to an exact fit, right? Chris clearly got a deal because they enjoyed working on the project. They had way more than $10K in it by the time they were done. If they just slap-glued some boxes together in a pre-determined design (using plywood, instead of beautiful, solid maple and cherry, or whatever it is), then it might cost your $100. But that's not what they did.
@@alexkillick6392 it wasent made by a company. It was made by one person. They had to create the design from scratch and come up with the idea. It was worth the 10,000

This isn't a puzzle box. It's a trial and error magnet box.
Great craftmanship.

Brings a thought, make a puzzle box that has two solutions... one obvious and one not so obvious - candy obvious, actual ring for not so obvious :-)

I don't watch a lot of puzzle videos, but the craftsmanship of that box was jaw dropping. 10/10 would buy one of my own.
10k/10k you wouldn't
Incredible craftmanship & cool puzzle! Personally I would prefer a puzzle with less "pushing and clicking" and more "mental puzzle solving" but I'm still in awe over this box!
That was insane craftsmanship! The whole time I was like "how is he ever going to get that back together?!"
even today, I am thoroughly impressed by the craftsmanship.
No it's not worth 10k. It probably cost the company little over 100 dollars to make.
It was worth the 10,000
Imagine the 3d architectural drawings for the construction of that device.
kummer45 I would have give up making the project. I hate planning for something so intricate and complex and never get it done unless it’s mandatory like a commission or a school assignment. I started like a animation for a personal project like 3 months ago and I only have like 2 frames done.
@@mundanemonday46 Thanks for describing the reasons why we have engineers and craftsmen out there 😂😂 don't like that planning and designing part to much as well
@@mundanemonday46 yes this is the beauty of it. You keep doing that over and over again and eventually you'll find a project that just encaptures you. Key words just keep trying creating over and over again.

Holy crap Mr puzzle
he obviously cheated. he knew the blueprints. to me this is just a video where he can get tons of views by slapping a (one of a kind) and ($10,000 dollars) tags on the title. he didnt care about solving the puzzle on his own, he cares more about the subscribers earned from this and all other one of a kind expensive videoes he uploads. and was hoping that he would always come out on top in the end for gaining some or all his money back from trying to get quick and easy subscribers this way. and thats the real puzzle :P no cheats involved.

I feel like the one thing that would've made this puzzle perfect would've been to not have to lift it. Everything else is so smooth, and the lifting the box takes away from that, giving a clunky feel to an otherwise pristine and elegant piece. Even still, amazing craftsmanship.
