I'm a noobie just now getting into KJ. This chap is so friggin talented as far as song writing and lyrics go. Amazing the sounds they created, especially when compared to the shit cherry auto-tuned crap big business pumps out thesedays.

I walk down amongst the ruins and past glories shattered me Elysian decays, answers that we are finding Waters of perfection fade You'll never see the water flow You'll never see the water flow You'll never see the water flowing.
My brother played this for me from the Goodbye to the Village EP when it came out. I seriously got into this band, in all of their different eras. I'm mostly interested in 70s progressive rock, but KJ is in my top 3 of all time, they blow my mind to this day, yes, even the newer stuff.
Temazo!!! Brighter Than a Thousand Suns, junto a Night Time, a mi modo de apreciar su música, es lo mejor, definitivamente. Debe ser la influencia new wave, lejos!!!
great thing about BTATS, is that it is an album where there is no happy ending. especially on the cd version, combined with return to the village, and ending with this .its just a cold grey grim album from start to finish.
I originally got this song on the b-side of the Adorations 12". Although quite uptempo I find it one of the most cold and depressing KJ songs ever. If Joy Division would have still been around in 1986 they could have sounded like this. Maybe the only contender would be "Solitude" from the "Extremities" album.
This one reminds me of their Goodbye to the Village. A kind of intangible nostalgia for an earlier time in history. Sad as hell but so emotive. Maybe one of the rarest beasts in rock.
@@Emulous79 ...I gotta revamp my Killing Joke collection, everything I own by them is in LP or cassette. It amazes me how great they sound on UA-cam of all places, I'm still in analog mode with the Joke...lots of snap crackle & pop out of my turntable, and the constant hiss on tape in the background.
@@krasteff are you serious? Basically, the entire post-punk/goth scene, which in turn is responsible for every single indie artist that followed. The chain of influence JD started by itself is fucking huge.
My favourite song of this 1986 Killing Joke album 😊
Adorations level❤

@@somnium789 the problem is not autotune it is that talentless people without any musical sense overuse this to earn easy money...
When they were live it was incredible, ive never had the same from any other band, unbelievable ❤
my god this is amazing. that dissonant interlude always gets me
Master piece....
I named my son Keith-James, we've always called him "KJ" Killing Joke is my favourite group from the 80's and I love them ❤️ 💕

I play this over and over...
I bought this on vinyl. This is from CD and a brilliant song. The great thing about BTATS was every single was pure genius.
Yes I know what are you talking about. Thank you
It's kj's best album in my opinion mate
@@itsalondonthing9562 Spot on. One the greatest albums of all time.
Beautiful song of beautiful exile.. Kj pulls my adolescent feelings out of the water flow
This guitar riff is hunting me with its light dissonances.
I finally found a post-punk band that I'm able to put next to Joy Division. Grand :)
KJ are so much more than post punk
The song that plays when going for a drive at 3 am to clear the mind
This is where Killing Joke were improving on their kick ass music, intricate stylings on their noise, plenty of great lyrics to boot.
My song of exile....

Cuando eschucho esa música,me quedo triste y feliz al mismo tiempo. Killing Joke ❤
yes! i havent heard this in so long but its still soooooooo good.
Amo demais 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

It is their BEST album bar none!
My favorite song of KJ
It's on vinyl, just not on the album. It was the b-side of the 'Adorations' single, on both the 7" versions and both the 12" versions.
Doble single too poseo Cindy palmano picture💪

Never nobody going to make music like that.. today is only shit
If it was from Queen it would have 100ml views
KJ just can't write a bad song
Good
This is the best album from killing joke
Very good
Bien bien.....
Question for the fellow synth nerds: is the synth you hear a PPG or maybe something else??
Not 100% sure, but I don't think it's a PPG. I know Jaz used an OB-X on a lot of the earlier stuff.
aaamazing . not on the ground.....
Dude, i totally know what your talking about there. it doesent stop at KJ for me. how about you?
That's a BIG stretch!!! But Killing is a great band (Just not Joy Division great!!!)!
KENO SIMS That's debatable and up to opinion. Both bands have influenced leagues of musicians. It doesn't help anyone to compare them this way
Rubico, can you name one band influenced by JD outside of Factory, e.g. Abecedarians etc.?
@@krasteff are you serious? Basically, the entire post-punk/goth scene, which in turn is responsible for every single indie artist that followed. The chain of influence JD started by itself is fucking huge.
Killing Joke of course and by far .
lol killing joke is one of the best bands with the most unique sound i have ever heard joy division is not even close to killing joke
