My Dad helped to build the first Empire Boats, and I have an original painting of Canopus, G-ADHL. This video broke me up!

What a beauty and a fine tribute to those who flew on them. My dad worked at Shorts in Rochester on Sunderlands during the war. To see these big boats taking off from the Medway must have been spectacular.
I used to watch at Rochester. I’m 91 now.

Beautiful to watch. My grandad was on the short Sunderland's in WW2 and covered the middle east like Mike's father. Particularly Singapore I believe. If Mike reads this I'd be interested if he has any further information as I'd love to know more about my grandad service. Take care all.
