Hi Mike, thanks for your videos!!! I just have a problem now... I need you. I'm trying the same with assemblies in linked models. Did you try this before? Would be great if you do a video of this case

Great video! I am wondering if this can be achieved at the structural model instead of get the view ready from architect by custom host view. Sometimes, the architectural drawing is revised many times, will be easier just re-link to the view with the view template set up. Thanks!

Yes!!! You can pull a view from any linked model to use as a Linked View!

Thanks. How can I see the floor plan - furniture etc - of a linked file as an underlay in my ceiling plan? underlay under properties does not seem to work for linked files.

I have an architectural model that has floor plans and ceiling plans made in it. However I can only see the floor plan links in my own mechanical model. Any idea why the ceiling plans won't show up in the linked views?

Hi I keep setting up and open my sheets and if process or electrical changes their model when I open my model view templates go back and all annotations and things I turned off reappear. Sometimes my model is changed after I submit and all my sheets are messed up. what causes this?

The issue I am having is taking over other Architect work, What would be the best way to standarized all several project to one drafting standard?
I originally think just create a template with all the elements in it such correct font text size, to all building symbol. Then link all the project to it + explode it. So this project will have all the necessary template it in. But than I loss all the views + sheets. have to recreate it. Not an efficient way.
How would you deal with this issue?

That’s a tough situation, but we’ve all been there.
Best thing to do is start a new Template for your office if you don’t have one. Copy/Paste the standards that you like into it, and delete all the things you don’t like. Then use this for ALL new projects.
As for your current projects, you can’t copy into them what you like and then finish the project out. You’ve got to get those done and gone. And always start with the new Template!

so for example, how to copy and paste building section symbol from my template to inherited project?
I think that is the best route, rather spend time re creating views

Linked Views ONLY show up in the one view that you turn them on. They will not show up in the other views.

This guy must work with some pretty pessimistic structural engineers. I particularly like the column in the toilet pan.
