    I work for an engineering company and was struggling with links to other models showing MULTIPLE layers. Understanding the "By Layer" piece of Revit Links was essential in helping isolate the models i needed to work off of.
    Thank you!

    Really good. I saw a 35 min video on this and it was a bit much to keep up with at once. The two together are perfect.

    I am using this technique very similar , I am reporting the schedule of the linked inherit view and using 1 file that has multipe work set for floor plans within the linked view- it is very helpful if you want to make a mirror of a assemblies version of sheets without having to re-annotate

    Thank you for your video! I have a question in regards it. I'm wondering if there is a plugin to manager the visibility graphics of multiple link at the same time?? For example. I work with multiple links(5 or 6) and I have to untick all the boxes in the visibility graphics on the annotation tab for every single view template that I use. It does take a lot of time doing that. Therefore, I'm wondering if there is a plugin which I can achieve that quickly.

      I should link it in the video but it's all about view templates:

    Great Video... Just wondering if you know why i can't see all the layers on the link files even i already press the + botton and did the custom tab?

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  2 роки тому +1

      if it's a Revit file, you would not see true layers. If it is a CAD files, then I would look in the imported categories tab in the visibility graphics.

    Hello, have a question. In case I wanna link a structural file with columns and beams how can i make to visualize in the file the projection with hidden lines of the beams. Thanks a lot for your content

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  2 роки тому

      That would be a view range thing in that you would have to see the beams of the linked file and you can override how you want to display those in the visibility graphics.

    Thanks. A question I still have is: When you're in the Revit Links tab and you click a drop down on one of the revit links you see "() - Not Overridden"... What is that??

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  2 роки тому +1

      That is a little confusing, but it is essentially an instanced version of the revit link. Basically you could show multiple instances for a revit link where they each show different things.

    Hi, thank you for sharing...How can I show tag from same drawing and same area in the plan but different view. ?

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  2 роки тому

      I would copy them all and paste them in same place on a different plan.

    First thanks for the video. I have a question about replacing the VIEW TEMPLATE- If I change the view template to "none" and edits the VG links, and changes back to the right view template, the link changes are not saved.

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  2 роки тому

      Right, this makes sense. Applying any template will override any settings even if there is no template. That is the point of applying a template.

    Really helpful, but I came here looking for info on how to change the 3D appearance of linked Revit files. I can only see them n "halftone-hidden line removed" mode. been trying to sort this out for frickin days now.

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  3 роки тому

      You might look to applying a material in object styles to apply to the link.

    Thanks for the video. Question: In your video, in the Revit links tab, it shows the "Interiors - Link.rvt" file. To the left of it, there is a "+". When I click the "+", it shows underneath the "Interiors - Link.rvt", a check box "1 ()" that says "Not Overridden". Can you please cover what that is all about? I'm confused. Thanks.

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  3 роки тому +1

      The thing to know with that is it is considered to be an instance of the link above. By default there is a single instance when you load a link. You can add the same link again and you will see another instance of that link appear under the model in the visibility graphics. This means you can have the same model shown in the view twice but you would likely want to have different visibility options applied. The instances will just use the settings of the main model if you do not override them specifically.

    I can't select cad link in revit

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  2 роки тому +1

      Check that you have the select links button at the very bottom right of the revit window toggled correctly. That is likely it.

    Hi dude! Thanks for the video! Hey... I am inserting an revit structural model and the whole model looks pink colour... It is terrible and disgusting when it supposed to be concrete color... And you know? When I rotate it in 3d view in real time it looks concrete color... Then when I render it in the vray plug in it looks fuc**** pink 😅😞🤯.... How can I render the structure in concrete color instead of pink? I have touched many options but i am not able yet to stick it up.... Many thanks and cheers

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  3 роки тому +1

      Haha wow! My first guess is that you have the model overridden with a material in object styles so I would check that first!
