Переглядів 59214 днів тому
Well, this came up just this past week and I figured I would show you what I found. Took a while to do all the research.. but here you go! Some categories are still visible even if the family is ABOVE the cut plane! Go figure! Enjoy! Happy Revitting!!!
Concrete Curb under a Railing (part of railing structure)
Переглядів 43621 день тому
You don't need to place a separate curb under a railing. You can actually build the curb directly into the railing family. This just came up yesterday for an accessible ramp need. Enjoy. Happy Revitting!
Design Options: Demystified
Переглядів 3,5 тис.Рік тому
There are many times we need to view 2 (or more) ideas in our designs. Design Options allows you to see them both.. and then hopefully decide on one and move forward. This Revit Tip will show you the simplest way to use Design Options. There are other aspects to Design Options, but this video is the basics. Happy Revitting!

Change MEP colored Ducts (and pipes, etc.) to Black
Переглядів 6 тис.Рік тому
So very often we link in an MEP Revit file and all their ducts are a different color: Blue Supply Air, Magenta Return air, Green Exhaust, etc. And all their pipes are colored too...Domestic Chilled Water, Hot water, Fire Suppression system, etc. So how do we change them to be all BLACK.. so they look and print correctly? SIGNAGE: Create, Place and Schedule (with Automatic Room Names)
Переглядів 3,7 тис.Рік тому
Signage can be a real bear to deal with in Revit if you go totally manual. But if you use the right parameters, and a little bit of family know-how, you can get your schedules to report the Room Names and Numbers. This can save tons of time when things change... (you notice I didn't say IF things change, haha). If your company needs BIM/Revit Assistance.. you can get help without hiring an in-h...
WAREHOUSE CONCEPT vs Bloated Template
Переглядів 2,2 тис.Рік тому
As we add our 'favorite' items to our templates.. they can quickly grow to an unmanageable size. This concept of using a 'Warehouse' file can dramatically reduce the template size, and thus help your projects start as small as possible. Give it a try. FLIP ARROWS vs SPACE BAR: And how they work together

I FOUND A 'GLITCH' IN REVIT: Draw order matters - Go Figure!

But there is a way to fix it if it happens to you in your project. This Revit Tip will explain. If your company needs BIM/Revit Assistance.. you can get help...

Hi Mike I just watched your video on “Worksharing Basics: Creating Central and Local Files,” and I must say, it was nothing short of exceptional. Your ability to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps is truly remarkable. The way you explain the process of creating central and local files in Revit is so straightforward and easy to grasp-it’s evident that you have a deep understanding of the software and a talent for teaching. Having worked solo in Revit for several years, I recently faced the challenge of onboarding a new team member. Your video came at the perfect time and provided exactly the clarity I needed. It’s clear that you have put a lot of effort into making your content both informative and accessible, and it shows in the quality of your explanations. Your videos are, without a doubt, some of the best resources out there for learning Revit. I truly appreciate your dedication and skill in creating such valuable content. Thank you for being the best Revit teacher on the internet-your work is greatly appreciated! Keep up the fantastic work, Mike. I’m looking forward to learning more from you. Bilal Abbasi

Awesome video demonstrating how a simple model line conveys what it needs to convey in an elevation view. The model lines illustrate the muntin pattern without exhausting countless hours modeling 3D muntins that will never show up in an elevation view. Your step-by-step tutorial showed me exacting what I needed.😊
