It is the story of an ugly man who hid in a castle alone, was planting flowers, there was a poor girl sneaking into the castle to take flowers and selling them the wrath of the man but he was watching her every day because he was curious about the girl He started chasing her while he was wearing a mask because he is so ugly, and he started teaching her how to grow flowers, he could't uncover a face because he is so ugly and you will be afraid of him He started making a flower that was not there before and locked himself up to try to do that, and after his success he started to fill the garden with this flower, but the girl disappeared and did not creep back into the castle, and after he searched for it he discovered that she had died .

This is more of a story of missing chances.
The story never revealed that he would be ugly or not. He is wearing the mask, cause his family was jalous of him and treated him bad. So he decided to isolate himself in a castle and wearing a mask, thinking he's ugly.
He didn't had the chance, to teach her to grow the flowers. It was just to his intend. They've never met. She's stolen the flowers from his garden, so she would always escape, if he would show up.
He was mad at first, when he followed her to the city to see, what she did with his precious flowers and felt soon guilty as he saw, how poor she was.
why is Jin so underrated.. tho people started to recognize him as well, because we have 4 (FOUR!) amazing vocalists and each of their voices are so unique. I don't think I know a boy group with vocalists who have such different voices. so I love how Flo appreciates Jin all the time. he deserves it. 💜

there is a village called "La Citta Di Smeraldo" which means 'The city of Smeraldo' located in the Northern, Italy.There was a small isolated castle. In the castle, lived a grotesque-looking man. Nothing was known about this man. He was a duke's illegitimate child.
But one day, a woman appeared near to the man's castle. The girl, dressed in rags. Jumped the fence and stole some flowers. The man was furious, spent the entire night watching over the garden.But, when he fell asleep. The woman came again and stole some more flowers. It happened for a few days. Until the man pretended to fall asleep and watched the woman come and go away. He was curious. Without realizing, he began waiting for her. At night, he followed her. He covered himself with cape. And he found out, she was poor and ill. And she sold his flowers to struggle on.He wanted to help her. He wanted to teach her every method he knew to grow flowers. But he didn't have courage to approach her. Because he knew she would be scared of how he looked. All he could do for her, was to keep growing his flowers. So she could keep coming to steal and sell them. The man decided to create a new flower. A flower she could sell for an expensive price. After several times, he created a bud that had never existed before. And filled his garden with it. But the woman never come back. No matter how long he'd waited. The man started worrying and went to the village with his face covered to look for her. But it was to late. The woman had died.

I think this might have been the song that really made me fall for Jin's voice, he truly shines here. I mean they all sound beautiful of course and when you combine their voices it's like a choir of tormented angels lamenting how cruel life can be...Jin's silvery tone just stands out to me

Flo, I'm confused. When you watched the life performance of this song there were eng subs though. You even commented that the lyrics were so good. But it's ok, I love to see your reaction to this song again. It's such a beautiful and sad song. The emotions are so good.
Also at the end there was a little mistake in the lyric video. The lyric video showed that Jimin sang the "But I want you" part four times. But he actually only sang it two times, which is the first one, and the very last one. The 2nd and 3rd time it was Jungkook's voice. 😊💜

It's not actually a mistake Jungkook's 'I still want you' it's considerate a vocal background at the end you can hear that it's slowed down.

So, I understand a lot of people's confusion with this song because of not doing research.
But I'm here to tell:
“la città di smeraldo story”
Smeraldo is a flower with a heartrending story.
This story begins around 1500s-1600s This story tell about Ugly guy (So Jimin didn't say that Jimin himself is ugly, they're singer in the view of this guy) that hides from people in his dilapidated cottage alone, because his appearance makes him get hatred and violent, so he grew up without opening his mind.
His happiness is planting flowers in his garden.
One day,
A girl appeared closer to his cottage,
she jumped over the fence and into his garden and stole his flowers,
he then got really mad and kept his eye on his garden and that girl,
but when fell asleep, she still stole his flowers again and again.
So, he pretend to be asleep and kept his eye on the girl who steals his flowers and suspected her so he waits for the girl to come again,
She comes again, and this time he follows her to watch her.
Now he knows why the girl had to steal his flowers, because she is poor and she steal the flowers to sell for herself for a living and her life.
He really wants to help the girl, and he slowly started falling in love with her.
But he's afraid the girl will be scared by his appearance, his features and his face.
He knows the girl doesn’t like his face, so he sums up one way to help her,
and that is to let her steal his flowers and he was determine to create The Flowers that not appear in this planet because she will get a lot of money from this flower.
He start to create the flower in his cottage, he failed again and again but he doesn't give up his determination, finally the flower was done, he successfully created the flowers!
He brings the flowers into his garden and he waits for the girl to steal it….
But, no one went there,
there was no sign of the girl…
For a long time…
The girl doesn’t come to his garden...
At last he knows the truth…
The girl had passed away.
You don't need to know the lyrics, for this to hit you straight in the feels. First time I heard it I cried my heart out. Their voices have so much power in this 😍

You need to read about the story behind ‘THE TRUTH UNTOLD’. The story of the Smeraldo flower is a very beautiful but very sad story. The song is told in the mans point of view from the story. You will understand why Jimin says “I must hide because I am ugly”. The song makes me cry every time I watch/listen to the live version. The album use singularity as intro, then fake love, then this. The order should be considered. It's a whole story. About a person hiding under ice lake, then discovered by another person. The hidden one wanted to fake the love, the other one thought that still fake and made him lost himself. But because of how much he love the other one, he finally decided to fake it too. Remember the fake love mv, v was hidden underground and all those screens flashing on him, the wall has save me written on.
An this song, right after fake love, the hidden person again, in the sand castle(in fake love jk appeared in a space has sand on the ground). And tae only sings the first part and a little bit in the middle. JK sings almost all I still want you part, think about it. Also, if you listen to jk's song euphoria, a song about two person sharing the same pain, founding Utopia behide close door(closet). Rainbow and the promised forest(in fake love, there's a part says the forest only has one person).
Anyway, if you read those songs lyric, and even some previous songs like blood sweat tear and DNA... There's a really big love story hidden behind. And don't even get me start with the new songs. Like I believe inner child is probably a propose song. The holding hands, turn to one, sharing world... Just thinking that song as not talking to himself but another person, then the whole song is different.

This is a story about a man who lived in a castle and was alone because he thought he was ugly. Once a woman went to his castle and gathered his flowers. At first he was angry, but in the end he became curious, and he began to wait for her. He found out that she actually sold these flowers in order to earn a living. A man fell in love, but he didn’t want to show himself because he was too ugly (line: "you know that i can't show you me give you me / You know that I can’t show you myself, give you myself).
Therefore, the man decided to plant a flower that did not exist on the planet, so she could sell these flowers at the most expensive price. In the end, he managed to fill his garden with them, but the woman stopped coming. Then he found out that she was dead. So there’s a line in the song “and I still want you / but I still want to (see) you ...”. I think she speaks for herself.
Hence the name of the song - "The Untold Truth", that is, the man did not have time to tell the woman about his feelings ... This song is too sad.

I read somewhere that the basis of this song is an old legend or fairy tale. One man lived in the castle and was ugly, flowers grew in his garden and every day he saw a beautiful woman who gathered them. he found out that she sold them in order to earn a living. Then he decided that he would plant the rarest flowers for her, because he could not say openly about his feelings, because he was afraid. Because he was ugly .... It seems he didn’t wait for her. and then he found out that she was dead. Such a sad story.. 😢
This song is about " Smeraldo Flower Story " . The message in the story was to love yourself. In the story, the man didn't love himself which caused him to have such a low confidence and couldn't moved forward. If he had loved himself, he could have had the courage to show himself to the woman and helped her before she passed away and confess his feeling for her.

Can you believe that there were people in the Australian media last year, saying that they can't sing, they found a clip of Jimin's voice cracking and played it. ARMYs were really angry, thousands got in touch with the channel that aired it (myself included) to complain. They issued an "apology" but it wasn't really, they just said they didn't mean for people to take offense. They clearly need to hear this track, if nothing else of BTS', just ignorance.

I know it's a little late, but I still want to explain the meaning of the words:
The song talks about a guy who did not like his looks people would look at him weird and shy from his looks he decided he was too ugly and locked himself in the castle and did not go out he did not like himself.
Over the years he was a flower grower in the castle garden He loved his delicate beauty he did not grow them over time.
One night he saw a girl walking into the castle garden and picking his flowers the guy was very angry with her but over time he watched her in his window and fell in love with that girl.
One day he decided to find out what the same girl was doing with his flowers, put a mask on his face and went out into the village.
The same guy decided to grow the most beautiful and rare flower variety for her so you can pick the same flowers and sell them in cash and thus you don't have to be poorer.
The guy managed to grow the flowers over time and in the end he got beautiful flowers he was waiting for the girl that night but she did not arrive he waited night after night but still the same girl did not arrive.
He decided to go out to the village again he put a mask on his face and went outside to see the same girl but he found out that the words "but I still want you" talk about him still loving her even though she is dead and he still wants her.
This song started their album about self-love and confidence and that for the sake of loving another person everyone should first start loving yourself and it's told.
