Very helpful, your video and Jeremy's too. I've got about 2500 miles on my 1090 R, sometimes the gauge works, sometimes it doesn't. What I've been doing when it doesn't work is re-fueling at around 215 miles on the odometer. At around this mileage mark I still have around 1.2 gallons before being empty. I'm definitely doing this repair. Again, great stuff, thanks!
I have a 2016 1290 Super Duke R and my fuel gauge always shows empty. I removed the pipe but the floating unit wasn't stuck. I was surprised. It moved easily. So I reassembled the bike and the problem still exist. I have no idea what else could be the problem. Any idea?
uh8ey sand the float as I mentioned and just put it all back together. The float sticks at the upper most part of the fuel sensor. I sanded mine and it has been working perfect for 5k miles. Take your time disassembling and all will be fine. Good luck.

Had a new one installed by dealer under warranty and it sticks too. I am trusting you and Jeremy, here goes.
Pistol Pete I had 2 replaced under warranty and both had same problem. Did this fix and all is working well.

your fuel float is full of gas and is sinking it no longer floats in the fuel so It was always read empty.
@@sarahapa1 But how can the float be full of fuel? It cannot be filled. It's a compact unit.
It is a foam like plastic, it can absorb fuel over time. It’s a common problem.
@@jonathanosullivan2418 I'll check it. Thanks!
@@kinnantonDid you replace the float and that fix it?
This procedure could work with the 790 Adventure sending unit? Mine stopped working...
Excelente!! Muy útil!!
Fuel sending unit or fuel probe.
