    Too bad the inside isn’t like the 1950s. Those were soooo freaking awesome.

    If it had features from the 50s you’d have me, but it’s missing that along with cheap parts that are designed to fail every 3 years

    • @jcmorgan26
      @jcmorgan26 11 місяців тому +5

      Yep. If they were producing a fridge identical in build quality to the 1950's equivalent but taking advantage of the modern advancements in compressor technology, new refrigerants, etc then that would be something notable but it is obvious that this is the same plastic-filled, low quality, cheaply manufactured crap that'll less less than a decade but made to look cosmetically like the well-built machines of the past. It's a modern refrigerator in a costume, not a 1950's fridge with modern advancements

    Proper retro fridge would t be using plastic for the shelves. Would have more compartments, and easy roll out shelves that stay level.

    Its a fashion brand, not an appliance brand. Its made with modern planned obsolescence and will fail and be expensive to fix.

    The inside is so cheap and disgusting when compared to the originals. The original would still be half the price of that plastic atrocity this day and work better and longer. Literally paying for the outside.

    Kinda not the point. The best thing about old frigs is they would last 50 years. If these are built like modern frigs then they are still pieces of junk.

      The inside is cheap plastic but being advertised as “having modern technology” which is true but modern fridges with their “modern technology” are of way lower quality and are cheaply made, compared to the original 1950s fridges. They’ll still slap a higher price tag on them, as if it’s a better product for being new. They just don’t make things like they used to. these old fridges are of such high quality that a large percentage of them still work like a charm too. They aren’t even all that hard to find online. Don’t be fooled y’all!

      @@Knowone1mportant though we tend to romanticize the enduring nature of vintage refrigerators, it's crucial to recognize the potential drawbacks associated with these older appliances. Classic refrigerators, often from the mid-20th century, may indeed possess a certain charm. However, they come with inherent risks, such as the presence of lead-based paint and aged, potentially hazardous wiring. In addition, the drainage systems in these vintage machines, often accumulate debris, resulting in leakage, liner damage, and internal rust.
      Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a vintage Frigidaire myself, but while the nostalgia associated with vintage refrigerators is understandable, it's crucial to acknowledge the potential safety hazards, maintenance issues, and scarcity of replacement parts. The allure of classic appliances should be tempered with a realistic assessment of their long-term viability.
