The B hamori standing completely still while you decorate around her lol, reminded me of when cat/dog owners dress em up and the pets are like 'ugh fine I'll let you have your fun 😡"
All animals with exoskeletons (invertebrates) molt. Like when u order soft shell crabs from a restaurant. They are soft bc they just molted. Pretty cool right? 😁
Same here. Makes since tho. I used to raise Gulf Coast Toads, very low maintenance animals to raise but they can get ill quickly and can get various skin conditions I.E. do your research as for all pets also I find them at times to be even more reclusive and shy. As they love to burrow and hibernate and honestly you might get scared a few times in the process of learning about them as I had one I called Rex who hibernated much longer than any of the other's and no it was not stress or anything as I contacted several "professionalish handlers" but it's just a rare here had or one of his quirks. Losing them of old age is what got me out of raising them. It's very hard to get so attached to a creature yes even a toad.. also they are amazing as they treat their owners to nightly A.S.M.R./WHITE-NOISE as during "mating season" they make beautiful sexy-time noises.
That mantis was huge! The level of sass also was surprising lol! I really like the enclosure for her. Do you plan on ever doing something like that again but with a tarantula?
I love you UA-cam videos, I’ve been watching them everyday for the last 5 or so months. Yesterday I bought my first tarantula sling it is a grammastola pulchra! ❤️
Have watched a number of your spider videos (not that I'm a big spider fan, but I find them fascinating) but this is the first time I've seen a mantis on your channel. I do think that mantis' are cool, as they are the only member of the insect family that can actually turn their heads on their shoulders. Years ago (many years ago) my boyfriend grew pot in the back yard and we had alot of mantis's that would get on all the plants (maybe they were onto something), and I actually brought one inside and made a pet of him. His name was Fred.
I currently have a baby mantis in my exo terra with a female wolf spider from the female mantis I saved and cared for a few months back before she passed away, she was in the last stage of life when I saved her from a spider web, I tried to get her to go back to the wild but she never did. It was amazing how she instantly knew that I was no harm to her and was as fascinated in me as I was of her, she always watched me as I moved around the room and was always at the closest point to me in her enclosure and loved being with me and riding on my head to look at everything around her and hunting flies that came close to me. They are amazing and have shown me that they are intelligent and capable of thought that was believed to be incapable than first thought from some insect species. I highly recommend them to keep.
I've been super into Mantids lately. They are great and they will be something I always keep. Great video. Keep it up! When is your next episode with podcast? Enjoy listening to you and Martin.
Your Brachypelma Hamorii is officially one of my faves of yours now :D She was so adorable just staying completely still through all the moving, she honestly looked fake! It made me giggle. Also your mantis is gorgeous!! Can't wait to see what others you get
I have never seen a mantis give a threat posture like that before although I was bitten by one when I was about 12. I tried to pick it up. Found out that was not a good idea, lol. She's gorgeous Kat!!! Tyfs God bless you
tarantulakat: she makes me nervous around my fingers tarantula: doesn't move at all despite being picked up and relocated multiple times, spun around, and being brushed by fake plants.
oh when the mantis showed her wings that was amazing and yep cocoa fibre isnt the best substrate esp for digging spiders when its always damp it can grow mould but when its always dry the spider tunnels can collapse. I mostly use ProRep Spider Life mixed w/ top soil
9:34 the lil rock comes out of no where lol. I love watching your vids! I’m actually waiting patiently for my first T sling watching your videos trying to prepare myself lol. Thank you for all of your content ❤
I have 6 ghost mantids and I adore them! Getting a Spiny Flower and Orchid in a week! I am a Mantis and axolotl hobbyist and just love animals! New subscriber and I am loving your videos Kat!
I'm dieing laughing 😂. My GP slings are the same way! I'd hold some of my Pokies b4 my tiny GP slings. They hate me. I have 4 of them and only 1 is nice (but bolts). All of them are around 1in. They must be Salem's cousins 😂
I love your channel Kat. Hornworms, the stuffed crochet spider, everything. I wish I could afford the small pink crochet Tarantula. Rose Hair totally. It's hard to be friends once someone gets so many subscribers but Love ya anyway.
I have a lot of respect for her, but also for some reason I am absolutely terrified of mantis’. It’s really cool, I’ve never seen this type of coloring.
Omg please please more videos on ur mantis!!!! She is beautiful!!! There's something about mantis that I fall in love with!!! I'm doing alot of research to finally get one!!! Any advice welcome or if u know someone who keeps them forward me please i want to learn as much as I can about them before I get one!!! But defo more video of ur mantis cuz she is one sassy queen lol 😂😂😍😍
Your videos are great! I was wondering if you could someday do a care *sheet* video on mantises and tarentulas, like as a beginner with which species you should start, and everything you need to know about them! Your videos really are fun to watch, keep it up!
I like how I’d been calling Kat a goddess all this time because she truly is a beautiful woman, and it took this long for anyone else to say something XD
"He always turns around and has to make it dramatic". The clue is in the sentence: "He". Men are just the biggest drama queens🤣🤣🤣👑 Love your mantis. Had a giant African mantis. Huge. She would kick the roaches if she didn't want them🤣🤣🤣 looked hilarious. Omg, just noticed. 7.22 face in your coconut. PS:loved the skull made of skulls you sent to Petko😂😂😂
Hi! Beautiful mantis! One thing I have to say though is, that enclosure isn't the best she could have. Metal mesh destroys their feet, and they would probably prefer some sticks instead of a corkbark as they won't use it to actually hide. I would reccomend replacing the mesh with a soft fabric mesh and adding thick twigs for her to lay her oothecae on.
Hi Kat I love seeing your amazing animals keep up the great work you always make my day hope one day to meet you and see your amazing tarantula collection and other reptiles as well 💯👍
That was some feisty mantis! I jumped the first time it did its threatening pose. Did it hiss when it did that? I couldn't tell from the video, but I'm hard of hearing too.
do the things on her 'arms' hurt when she was walking on you or was she more using her legs than her 'arms'? i've been watching quite a few of your videos now and you defo have a certain way of setting up a new home for your spiders. One thing that has been baffling my mind is how do you get sanitized leaf litter? wouldn't it crumble to bits? or is there something i'm not getting? Also when you say they are kicking hairs, i don't see it... is it obvious or more secretive? (sorry for the questions but I really am liking the content and i love to learn~!)
Where do you live? Not in a weird way or anything but I can never have my tarantula's enclosure open for to long because where I live it's cold. So yeah, where do you live, not specifcs just country.
The B hamori standing completely still while you decorate around her lol, reminded me of when cat/dog owners dress em up and the pets are like 'ugh fine I'll let you have your fun 😡"
Beautiful! Mantids are literally the coolest insects on the planet. I wouldn't be surprised if they are secretly aliens from out space lol.
I collect mantids and I am pretty sure that they are, actually. Lol
Sup dude lol
Like the octopus!
Sonny Breugelmans I suspect pigeons are government spies 🕵️♀️🐦
I love how passionate you’re and how gentle you’re with nature it’s therapeutic watching people treat “life” right
thank you 🙏

Same lol
All animals with exoskeletons (invertebrates) molt. Like when u order soft shell crabs from a restaurant. They are soft bc they just molted. Pretty cool right? 😁

I am going to re-do my A avicularia enclosure, she molted again and has really junked the place up with old webbing and poop d:
That Hamorii was so cool and chilled out! Loved it
I love you UA-cam videos, I’ve been watching them everyday for the last 5 or so months. Yesterday I bought my first tarantula sling it is a grammastola pulchra! ❤️

I have big fear of mantises, but I have to say that this one is quite beautiful... ❤ Her wings! 😍

I love how sassy the mantis is. Oh my gosh.
If you pause the video at 7:21, you can clearly see a human coconut head.Greetings from Croatia :)
You should get wheel bugs, they are fun to keep and feeding is great.
"He always turns around and has to make it dramatic". The clue is in the sentence: "He". Men are just the biggest drama queens🤣🤣🤣👑
Love your mantis. Had a giant African mantis. Huge. She would kick the roaches if she didn't want them🤣🤣🤣 looked hilarious.

tarantula is in the way! kat uses ctrl Z!
I love tarantulas!! There so cool
I just woke up just to watch your vid because you're amazing and a cool mama
I'm not a big fan of coco fiber anymore either. I started using Jungle Mix or the Dig It substrate from Josh's Frogs. :)
Happypalma. That will be a Pokemon someday. It'll be a Ghost/Psychic tarantula which eats funyuns and collects hedge clippings.
Your mantis is beautiful.... wow
I also have a dead leaf mantis female in the same enclosure!!!! lol
Great video!!
what kind of voodoo magic did you use for that molt!?
Cool video, you really take good care of them. Mantis wings look Awesome. All the best. 🕸️ 🇬🇧 ✌️

TK is so damn Beautiful
Keep up the hard work 😍
Would that enclosure for the mantis work for a phidippus audax?
where did you get the pink spider plush? I waaaantttt
That was some feisty mantis! I jumped the first time it did its threatening pose. Did it hiss when it did that? I couldn't tell from the video, but I'm hard of hearing too.

Does Tarantula Kat reply?
I had read that you should clean their cage every 6 months or so, is that not right? Thanks!
Now this video was unexpected but heck yeah 😊
do the things on her 'arms' hurt when she was walking on you or was she more using her legs than her 'arms'? i've been watching quite a few of your videos now and you defo have a certain way of setting up a new home for your spiders. any advice on millipedes? I'm looking into getting one
That enclosure is super tiny for a mantid that size. Mine is half that size and I have 30x30x45
🖤🖤
*”Final Form!”*
“Grammostola with an attitude problem 😅😅😅😅😅”
Me: Is more for snakes and reptiles
Also me: Watches anyway
Your hamorii is so still
$35 for that enclosure? Where ?? I'd pay easy. $80 in Canada
those nano terrariums cost anywhere from $70-110 brand new in Aus :(
Where do you live? Not in a weird way or anything but I can never have my tarantula's enclosure open for to long because where I live it's cold. So yeah, where do you live, not specifcs just country.
$35 dollars? That is like $100+ in Australia!
use live plants. i use them in all my enclosures
I’m pretty sure she dwarfs my female D. truncata
You must have a duet with someone else love spiders like exotic lair
