Taco Stacks is crafty‼️💪🏻 🤭🙂 WOW 😲 You have impressed me. And you say your not crafty. Good job, looks good. WTG. ~ Texas
Oh my gosh. That is so cool. It has such a natural weathered look to it. Your video is the best and easiest I have seen to get this look. Thank you for posting it!
Have you tried this technique with red oak wood baseboards?
Would this work on paneling?
For those wondering he used an oil based stain and a water-based acrylic paint according to both manufacturer info pages.
i am scrolling the comments looking for exactly what you said^^^^^
thanks! do you think the water-based stain would work here with the same result? Or the magic here is mixing the unmixable liquids?
thx for that info
Painter here…I was wondering if that was a latex white lol. Latex over oil hmmm haha. As long as he applied a poly over it to lock it down
I was looking for this 😅 thank you
I've seen it done by staining the wood, leaving it dry and adding the paint on top. Once dry, you hit it with some sandpaper to distress it. Your way seems to be the easiest. Love this type of videos.
This technique is original. I have never seen it before… It looks so beautiful ❤
I have been refinishing furniture for over 50 years as a hobby, never saw that technique before. Thanks for sharing taco!
You don't think there will be adhesion problems?
@@101thebus No. Because of the process, although I would follow up with a satin or flat clearcoat.
This was no joke the fastest, easiest and best technique I’ve tried, came out absolutely perfect, my mantle shelf looks amazing and I did the entire thing in less than 5 minutes! Thank you !!!
oil based paint or water based????
Dude that is off the chain!!! Thank you so very much for sharing and showing us how to do this the correct way. My daughter is remodeling their home with rustic farmhouse decor and I have been watching video after video after video trying to see how to distress the wood correctly and yours is the best out of all of them that I have seen. So simple and easy and looks better than any other that I have seen. Wow. Thank you so so so very much from the bottom of my heart. I instantly subscribe when I began watching your video
That’s for all of your videos. My husband and I enjoy watching you over the last year or more. We have learned a lot and now selling on eBay part time as a do have a full time job. Love your new crafty video I’m sure you see and hear a ton of unique things in your travels. Please share more....
Thanks
I can’t believe how easy that is...I always thought doing something like that was complicated and time-consuming, but apparently not. 😁
Martha Stacks..Who knew you were so crafty?! Nice Job.
Oh my goodness I absolutely love this technique.Beautiful results 💕
Absolutely fantastic video. Just what I was looking for for my next project. Also great because you got to the point without any drivel. Much appreciated.
What a wonderful hack! Thank you! It gave me a great idea to try it with colored paint instead of the stain. Came out just the way I wanted. Beautiful with a deep purple and navy blue I had laying around (for a headboard).
Antiques made daily! Great project plan. I have also seen where small nail holes are put into the board first. Have a great week! 👍😎
Very good Taco brought back a lot of memories for me I use to do a lot of DIY jobs when I was younger I will say I did go a bit crazy stencilling but always loved the before and after Thanks Taco I feel like going and looking for an old piece of furniture now lol Take care as always loved that video x

Thanks,
I used to do furniture restoration and staining.I had books from early 20th century with examples of different types of faux woods.
People with cheap doors would stain them to look like expensive wood.
There were graining rollers which worked along with brushes to create fake knot holes and patterns.
If anyone is interested, I believe that Mohawk furniture refinishing has supplies.
Nice job Taco, effective and and cheap!
Cheers,
Rik Spector
