Really good... Just some insight for fellow creatives.. This is relevant to writing or playing any type of lyrical, melodic, or rhythmic line in music. You gotta let it simmer. Music is not a race. Have a water, a snack, a smoke, take a pause in the process - don't rush- get comfortable. You can try to attack the music and plug in and try a million different things but you might as well listen and do it in your head for as long as it takes to get the vibe right -that 15-40 minutes seems accurate so you can think through different things and come back and forth to think about what is going to work best but you don't plan the whole execution, just the angle of the attack, in a lyrical case the character, the emotion of the story. I feel like Lil Wayne is himself in every song but a different character in every song because every song is different. Critics might not like what he says but he is serving the music and the people that listen to it, and although it's often materialistic or sexist, that's his honest perspective and that's the foundation for an excellent writer. He is a vivid reflection of a part of the culture and it's not really accurate to even put his or anyone's music into a box and say it's good or bad... Thanks for posting!

I’m proud of myself and my new music. I really feel this interview, he said “I could do two verses and not really feel the song much.” I’ve got 40+ unreleased songs with proof of that, my guy. Just bc you write a song, doesn’t mean it should be released. You should only release your best work. ESP in todays music industry, there’s a million people just as good as you if not better. Do your best, release only the best.
