What are your thoughts on the new mega servers? Are you happy? Are you upset?
SOD isn't wow. it's some horrible nightmare that isn't part of reality. so idk how this is going to change wow forever. it'll change the few people that play sod maybe. it's sad they have to merge them all so soon. but sod = season of dogish for a reason.

dont care either way I loved sod in the first two phases. I quit and have now moved on.
I am on a larger server. I work from home so i often play on overnights. Even with a larger server i can usually get to the rares and achievs i want easier while most people sleep. I am going to miss that.
Can't wait for the BRE shit show. By the time you find a decent layer, the event is over...lmao. Possible solution, extend the event to the searing gorge zone also.

Naming your character is huge for rpg. Blizzard over time cares more about the mmo than the rpg element to the point where retail has no rpg element left.
The only thing they did good in retail was transmog. Now that was great for the rpg side of things.
Unlearning my gathering professions now, because I'll never spot an untapped node/herb in the wild again

I’m on Lone Wolf EU, not a dead server and it took me days to find Dire Maul groups for 0.5 quests this week, there’s a few MC raids going but they aren’t reliable. Long gone are the constant stream of Raid Pugs in Phase 1, I welcome the merge.

Living flame and lonewolf discord populations adds up to around 35k.
Well, the biggest reason why I haven't touched Cata Classic yet is because I was forced to move my characters to another realm and I couldn't keep my names... I hate it when they do this, especially now that they haven't closed the servers yet I was playing on. One big mega sever is great, but let us keep our names!
How do you think that is supposed to work, though?

You forgot to mention 250Ms players against 5Ms rogues expecting ppl to have fun.Even in pve lag will kill wow sod
RP servers on retail are not shared when out in the game world which makes it great for questing or hunting rares. I do think the current expansion zones might shared somewhat though? Definitely not across all realms though.
Ye, my bad on that tiny bit of incorrect info. I assumed it was fully cross realm, but makes sense that RP realms are separated.

Guess Bliz wants to lose another 10% of their player base.... for no good reason beyond wanting to have less servers to maintain.
it sucks for PvE literally brings like 100 horde players to wild growth. Thats it. alliance will get a biot more but doesnt help horde out at all.

When you realize the server you thought was alive was so dead that they are taking all the other servers combined to make 1 actual playable server. I mean it made sense in era, people playing SoD should take this as it’s dying and by the end of its lifespan will be completely dead.
many people including me wanted to be able to move from pvp to pve or from pve to pvp and we don`t have that and it`s total bullshit and this won`t be good for the population and i really hope they will change it before it starts
seasons was fun for 3 seasons buti didn't care to come back for the 4th
I think in general people are just done with the same iteration of yet another classic version
they just need to put all their resources in wow classic + at this point to get people interested
there's been so much re-do's since classic wow that people are just done with it I think
I've been playing on pennance AU since SOD launch, and we've only had at most 200 horde players since p2. We are excited for this changed as we've seen 2 different servers with more players get shutdown meanwhile we've been forgotten about. My only concern with 2 locale speific servers is we are gonna get hit with network latency. We used to get 10-40ms we will now be stuck with 150+ ms that im not to thrilled with but ill take it over being alone
This really does nothing for horde on WG unless they allow PVP - PVE transfer other with all WG can get is the 300 horde from penance lol

I’ll be honest, I was kind of hoping to be able to transfer my lone wolf horde characters to wild growth, but looks like that is not happening.
Also means there's only gonna be 1 AQ event.

I think most negatives of a mega server happens when you need to merge like SoD will have to. But any other new launch like Fresh or other things will mostly just benefit from a mega server if it's there from day one.
