Brian Johnson & AC/DC: The Definitive Story Of How He Joined The Best Band In The World
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 бер 2021
- Brian tells the 'official version' of the answer to the question he gets asked more than any other - "how did you come to join the band AC/DC?"
A twist of fate saw the course of his life change forever....
No matter what happens in music, AC/DC will always be current
It is amazing that after so many years when they release a song in 2020 I know that is AC🗲DC.
Please tell me that was pun haha
A timeless treasure...Cheers!🍻
They bring me down to earth
I see what you did there!
Man I could hear Brian talk for hours, what a great storyteller and a wonderful guy. Maybe a Brian Johnson podcast!
A Brian Johnson podcast would be great. He is such a natural especially when it comes to interviews.
YES PLEASEE
Was thinking the same, so hyped on this channel! Can't wait to see more of the show!
Brian was a guest on a podcast called Rockonteurs with Gary Kemp & Guy Pratt in January. It's on UA-cam, episode 19.
his channel is going to be huge in couple years. I am sure
¨The bigger the German the smaller the swimsuit¨ never heard that one before but i am taking it with me for future ventures
Same!
Agreed
Use power with extreme caution! Who knows what could happen these days if you trotted that line out. =D
Never heard t before, too. And I am german
Wooooohoooo!!!
His voice impressions are hilarious too
So damn funny couldn’t agree more
"I´m too old, I´m thirtytwo"... Those were the days :)
Brian Johnson is probably the only man in the world who could have filled Bon Scott's shoes and kept the band relevant for decades afterwards. This was evidently his destiny. He fit right in with the band, support, and fans alike. 👍
Brian is great.
Just said that my self.. Spot on.. His humour is classic acdc.. N the voice well.. No one else can do it can they. This be straight he is the only guy for the job... Axl done OK.... Would love to see a acdc duo with Axl n Brian... Think it could sound good
@@stewartchampion4260 I was surprised, Axl actually did very well. I really liked hearing him sing the songs. I know most of the fans didnt like him, but I thought he did a great job. But here's the point I was sorta making in my comment above - Axl evidently didn't really fit in very well with his personality and attitude. Whereas Brian just fit in perfectly. Even though Axl could sing incredibly well, I highly doubt he could have came in after Bon and kept AC/DC going strong all these years later. That is a very rare thing.... which I think Brian was destined to do.
@@BaltimoreAndOhioRR I agree with ya. I did think axl added something to those bon songs tho.. They do suit his voice.. Eva way what a band hay.. Take care
Brian Rules
haha, the german English was perfect :D
his cockneys not bad either
Cockney was even better.
My goodness. Not only is he a rock god, he's an amazing storyteller!
“Past me sell by date” hahahaha I love Brian Johnson
If/when Brian writes his memoirs, I'd pre-order the audiobook version in a heartbeat. I could listen to Brian talk for hours.
He released his memoirs about a year ago titled “The Lives of Brian” right around the same time as your comment here. I’m guessing the title is a nod to Monty Python 😎
@@CFarnwide I came here to say that… 😅 I literally bought the audiobook because Brian reads it. I was lucky and got the physical copy for Christmas
Brian mate, your impressions were killing me 😂😂😂😂😂
I can not tell you the name of the band but I’ll tell you the initials 🤣
"Ze AC and ze DC..."
"...You mean AC/DC?"
"OH NO I HAVE ZED TOO MUCH!"
hahahaha!
ahaha my gf asked me tonight what does AC/DC stand for. I said AC/DC
@@lemonlover6666 That's the sort of question/answer that causes spontaneous human combustion :D
just imagine if she messed it up & said it's A B B A, LOL
"Scheiße!!!! I have said too much" .. I just shat my pants laughing when he did that german impression
After 40 years, what's incredibly remarkable about B.Johnston is his graceful speech. Not once in 40 years has he been offended by the remarks of "he's not as good Bon."
Listen to "Back in Black" album, headphones "LOW" next time you sleep, vocals are truly amazing!!
Eventually everyone will have to know who really is
AC/DC.
Nobody said Brian can’t sing, but when bon was with the boys they rocked. Powerage is the best album they’ve ever made. Brian hasn’t had the best albums with them. Sure he’s had a few but from high voltage to highway bon will always be AC/DC
That's right, nobody said any of this or that.
Calm down lol
@@Cooz. "Let there be Rock" :)
@@Cooz.
Much prefer Brian.
Amazing. He joins AC/DC at 32 years old, and they were already pretty big and just on the verge of being huge, and he helps them become the best hard rock band of all time. 40+ years going strong. Everybody of all stripes and tastes love AC/DC.
Awesome German accent. “I’m not going to tell you ze name, but ze initials are AC unt DC.” Hilarious!
"Scheisse! I have said too much!" :D
VOT IZ YUR NAYME?
I met Brian at the airport in Miami a few years ago, such a lovely guy. I recognized him having a drink, at down near him, and we eventually got to talking. Absolutely fantastic guy. Just a real bloke, took time to talk to me and was extremely gracious about me fanboying, I grew up on AC/DC, I discovered them in 2005 when I was 13 and I've been a fan since, I have a tattoo of Angus's 68 SG. He made me an even bigger fan.
Brian Johnson has always struck as the kind of guy who would be really fun to hang out with. Outstanding racing car driver to boot. Legend.
Lovely Brian! Humble Geeetings from Maracaibo, Venezuela.
Brian does great impressions!
You have to love hearing a guy that has been on both sides of up and down tell about the big break he tried to turn down.
When you were in geordie you played in my grandparents workman’s club meany moons ago
Thank you Brian. Love listening to you. You remind be of my Pop. He came to Australia aged 17 on his own from Middlesbrough after WW1
More Brian ... Give Us More ... We need these Stories. The World needs them. I need them.
I could listen to this guy tell stories all day. Where's the FN Pub?!!
Great story. Glad it happened. You da man!
Had the pleasure of taking you in my London cab either last year or 2019! Thanks again for the generous tip 👍🏻👍🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Keep on rocking Brian 🤟🏻🤟🏻
I have no idea what he said, but I was riveted.
How amazing would it be to grab a beer with Brian and listen to his stories! what a great guy 🤘
A movie about Brian Johnson's life would be amazing, he grew up in a time when rock music was fun and left you broke and penniless, "I'm too old to be in a rock and roll band" I laugh every time he says that, what a humble man.
My favorite part is when he got to the audition, he didn't bother trying to find the band or figure out where he was supposed to go, he just found the road crew drinking and shooting pool and he just joined right in with them!
It's a long way to the top! 😎
I love this man pure human ! where can we get more ?
I couldn’t imagine trying to fill in Bon Scott’s shoes , Thank you Brian Johnson and RIP Bon . What a great story . Cheers
Keep rocking Sir! AC/DC will never get old.
people keep asking because he is a great story teller. i could listen to him all day
I am old enough, to remember seeing brian singing in the local working mens clubs in NE england with Geordie
Saw AC/DC at the Day on the Green in Oakland, CA in '79 with Bon Scott and I thought that may be favorite AC/DC(it is live) and I've seen the boys with Brian, but my all-time favorite moment is when they played the Grammy's and all the little people in that crowd that thought they were something got to see rock gods in action! So satisfying!
Imagine saying no to AC/DC
Oh no. Wenn had missed B. J.
I could listen to this legend tell stories all day. So glad I got to see them live!
What a goer ,started in ac/dc at aged 32 what sustainability, Brian Johnson what a legend
It was Meant to be Brian, It was meant to be! You are an absolute ICON!
That was hilarious, musics gain was comedy’s loss. Your a top fella, keep rocking 👍
It would be great if you could do more of these short stories, I'm sure you have some that not many people know about, I'd love to hear some of those.
Legend...Sir Brian Johnson 🎤🎤🎤 Great Story n German impression.
We all had a buzz in the North East when it came out that Brian had joined AC/DC, their gigs at the Mayfair in Newcastle were legendary, when they announced the tour getting a ticket for the Mayfair gig was like gold dust, I couldn't get one, on the day of the gig I got a message when I got home to give my mates mum a ring, he had a ticket but he also had flu, his loss my gain, great show.
I did not know Brian could do accents so well. Great little bit.
Walked across the street into another life. And we’re all glad you did!
Brian, you the man!! Your voice talents are greatly underrated!! Great German Accent!! 👍
love these stories, keep it up mate!
Please do more of these sitdowns. I'm a big fan of the "Rockers and Rollers" book and I'd love to hear more about Brian's life from his own mouth.
Very happy to find this channel . AC/DC for ever !!!
Brian your UA-cam channel is just great! Thank you for sharing these stories and beautiful friendships with the rest of us. I clearly remember seeing you live in the early 1980's at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. I couldn't hear properly for a week after! You and the rest of your clan have been my #1 band me whole life! Please please keep doing more of these videos.
Really love listening to Mr. Johnson. Love the stories. So glad he’s able to be back with the lads.
Wish he was still doing Cars That Rock. Combined beautiful cars, Mr. Johnson, and all those stories.
Cheers, Mr. Johnson!
This was hilarious and what a great story. Hey Brian, if ya want a side gig, standup and impressions are waiting!
What a brilliant story teller. I could listen to him for hours
The best front man of a band that thanks his lucky stars
So humble and the right fit for a great band
He’s been there longer than bon
A true legend
Bon was awesome but the only other person who could have done it is Brian
Acadaca for ever
Love too the world 👍
He is great at doing voices!
Brian none tells stories like you!
I Could listen this man all day. "hey what you doing over there..."
Hello Mr Johnson very nice story indeed!Greetings from Greece!
Absolutely love that Geordie accent - I could listen to Brian chat for hours and still be transfixed
that is pure epicness
Not many rock groups can survive changing lead singers, though it CAN be done. AC/DC are living proof of this, with very few exceptions. I cant imagine a better person to continue their legacy, and working for decades to give us ear splitting ass kicking rock and roll. We as fans could not have asked for a better frontman! Cheers from Canada : )
He looks amazing
This is such a great story and Brian makes it even better with the telling!
Brian, I never felt like you got the respect you deserve. Can you go one freaking day without being told how great the other guy that did your job was? I feel without you ACDC would have been lost to history, and not like Led Zepplin. Thanks to your additions to the songwriting and your singing they will not be lost. Az good as the other guy was he could not have written, You shook me Even my screen name has been an ode to your band. Love ya man and so glad you rocked this world as hard as you did. .
Watch out for conspiracy theorists saying Bon was the one who wrote Back In Black (the album)
@@tomasgomes8793 yeah Angus addressed that. I'm glad he finally tried to straighten out all those people that think Bon wrote everything
@@ACoustaDC oh really? Could you give me the source? With a link or something
@@tomasgomes8793 I keep posting but then it doesn't show up I think it's blocking the URL just Google Angus Young addresses rumors of Bon Scott writing back and black and you'll find it
@@ACoustaDC googling riding back and black is not advised. You won’t find your answer there. Lol
I can still remember getting Back in Black from K-Mart when I was just 12. Every Friday night my parents took the three of us kids into the city and to Custer's Last Stand which was a drive in burger joint, then we would go to K-Mart to get one thing each. A toy, a magazine, a baseball....something. It was our allowance for doing chores. And there it was, Back in Black for $4.99. The limit was $5 so that worked out perfect. That was my introduction into the rock world. From there it was on. I wore that album out.
Absolutely fantastic
He seems to be a really nice guy
I am so happy AC/DC is back
on the road very soon
See you in Vienna an Bratislava
This is a great video. I was in a workingmen's club in Newcastle upon Tyne called Heaton Buffs which Brian played at many times with Geordie. It was announced that Johnna had joined AC/DC the previous week. The place erupted!
Brians' Hoover vacuum commercial is not to be missed!
his German-English (here called "Denglisch) is truly oustanding and very genuine (and funny too) 👍
Could listen to him all day 🙌
I've never been a fan of AC/DC, but of course, I respect them and this guy is in an incredibly great shape!
I have to ask then why did you watch this
A humble man, so happy he had found success
Deserves everything he has.
Lovely man
Does great accents too, so friggin talented
I thought Back in Black was the SECOND best-selling album of all time - outsold only by Michael Jackson's Thriller - not the third? Anyway, great story, brilliantly told. Brian's such a funny bloke.
I bet some people thought that he was Australian, before this. All the best musicians and singers in the world British
If I had a dollar for every time I bought Back In Back, simply from wearing out the cassette (starting on the day it was released). Todd and I would play a side, eject and play the other side. Then we got auto reverse! Todd is gone now but every song on this album always makes me think of my best friend and the summer of 80. For some reason, we thought all the high school girls wanted us to play it as loud as we possibly could though (lol) those Pioneer TSX 9s mounted inches from our heads. My wife now pays the price....what, huh.
Back in Black, a true masterpiece
Desert island album
He would be wonderful at reading audiobooks...!!
where is the full interview, could listen to this all day. Better then tv
What a great guy; & his accents are awesome👏 They don’t come, more down to earth than Brian Johnson🙏🏻
What a great sentence to finish that clip. Brian has always been my music Hero. Bon was a legend of course but Brian has brought the band forward for 4 decades and an absolute gent to boot.
More stories, Brian, they're great!
I love your channel Brian, lovely !! Great stories and really just the best stuff I've seen in such a long time. Thank you so much !
He could read the phone book to me and I'd be enthralled.
So awesome you have a channel. Your a legend and no body would expect you to have a channel. This is awesome it shows how down to earth he is. You seem like a really humble good dude.
The voice impressions are just brilliant 😄
I wonder if they recorded his audition of Nutbush City Limits . That would be interesting to hear.
Happy Birthday Briaaaaan.Lots of music love happiness and all the best in your life brother.Hope to see you again soon in Athens Greece 🤘🤘🤘
I can tell why people don't tire of the story.
Thank god for this video, now I can hear this story as many times as I want!
Love it!
Great video! BABAAM!!
hi Brian keep this channel going subscribed for all time way to get out there an touch base with the greats besides yourself. keep on its great to see you bring great memories to everyone. keep strong for all the rockers that love acdc
Awesome!
Good stuff!!
This is excellent! :)
Geordie was back in '73(?) the first band that I saw live. It was the opening act for a 7 band festival in the Rotterdam Ahoy. Oh those golden memories.
To play 3 chords louder than most, in a 4 time band. When all the rock & metal dust settles, they might be the most important band after the Beatles, Stones, Zepplin. Sabbath..Bon Scott will always be missed. My fav band 4 Lf...
Love the guy absolutely amazing genuine lovely lovely guy love acdc brian johnson xxx
every time I hear this story , your German accent gets better and better. rock on mate.
