Today we are continuing to add music and sound to our podcast episode. We will add both background music and music in between segments, as well as sound effects, using only our phone and the Anchor app. This is very easy to do and you need no prior knowledge about how to do so.

@Clark Stewart you can always upload music to your account. Make sure you have to use it first
Thank you for both your videos @PixelPia . I heard that if you use Spotify music on Anchor, the episode will be distributed with Spotify rss feed, not with Anchor rss feed. So, what happens to your old episodes in case you switch platform in the future? I'm afraid we have another reason not to use Spotify music in Anchor.

I am happy to hear that, but when it comes to music from movies there is a problem called copyright. It would be extremly costly to buy the rights to movie music so I advice you to look for alternatives

Thank you, I am filming on my phone a Samsung Galaxy note 10+, the audio is recorded on my laptop using the FIFINE studio condenser mic.

Thank you for this! Aren’t there betters alternatives fit background music? Anchor (forgive me) has terrible options. When I go to Pixaby, the quality is amazing and the artists are great. How do we get royalty free options into our podcast - easily??
If you have downloaded a royalty free music you can upload that as any other audio file when using Anchor

As an indie artist.. how do you add your own music (published or unpublished)
You can upload your music files the same way you upload any audio file if you just want to use it between segments. If you want it to play as background during the episode you need to edit it into your audio file before uploading. Hope that helps 🙂

I guess your asking if you can do it from Anchor, the answer is no.
