Your hair loves gel girl. After I apply leave in conditioners and gel..my hair gets excessive white residue which in your own words is 'frustrating'! What am I doing wrong?
LIDIA LAURENT try switching up your products. Or maybe leave out the leave in conditioner. Thank you love 😘😘
LIDIA LAURENT The products probably doesn't play well together. Try putting your leave in and gel in your hands and rub them together and if it turns white the products don't mix, if it remains clear they mix. I got this method from mo knows hair wash and go with 3c hair video😀😀 It may require you to test more than one product but it is better than adding it to your hair and finding out they don't mix.
no matter which gel I use I don't get the definition you have. Do you think I need a deep conditioning first?
Camisha Wicks I find that turning white is ok but if you mix them and it turns thick and cottage cheese like, then I will not put it in my hair. She mixed the cantu and gel and I find that cantu doesn't work well with gel for me at all. Cantu with gel leaves whites balls all in my hair. It's said because I love cantu alone.
I love this gel, its one of the very few that doesn't make my hair hard and crunchy.
Peaches100 I think you can scrunch your hair to get rid of the gel cast aka "the crunchiness" or you can apply oil over it.

It didn't work for my daughter at first because we was using a leave in conditioner but once we skipped that it worked beautifully
I purchased a small jar of this and did a dry wash n go. It really defined my curls and was not hard or crunchy at all. I'm not one to use a lot of products in my hair. I simply washed my hair and used the mane choice 3n1. The next day I used this gel. No problems for me.

This gel does not mix well with Cantu products. When your gel and leave in clash, they basically cancel each other out, or the leave in renders the gel useless because instead of coating your strands it's clumping up and flaking. This will make you think the product doesn't work when in reality it does.
As soon as I saw the Cantu I thought ‘that’s the problem.’ Lol
So what leave-in would you recommend with it?

I tried this gel for the first time yesterday and I had to switch methods, I was using a leave in but I noticed that it was taking way too much effort for me to define my curls and I usually don't have to do much, so when I was on my last section I used the gel by itself to see if it was a total waste of my time because I've been on a mission to find this gel and by itself it works so much better! After it dries it will feel slightly crunchy like barely but after an hour or so I had really soft defined curls. Maybe try it on it's own and see what happens
Yes Im noticing the other bloggers using it alone gave them a better result so when I get my hands on some going to do alone.

I agree totally. I had a similar experience. It is absolutely NOT a level 10 hold as it says. It also doesn't give me as much definition at the root. Glad the hype is calming down. Not worth it.

I think she didn’t use a diffuser because she wanted longer looking hair. Diffuse is great but the hair will look shorter.

I got that same result with the eco with coconut oil. Terrible hold and frizzy. Eco with olive is definitely bae!

If you use the gel on dry hair it works better. It seems like it has something in it that don't mix with freshly washed wet hair... The BEST GEL IS THE original Eco styler Gel ITS the BEST 👍💯PERIOD...
i dont know why some ppl act like it was so serious that they had to order it but without looking for it I came across it in a larger beauty supply store and I paid $3.49 for 16oz

I absolutely love this gel. I go backend forth from this jail and the coconut eco styler gel.
Finally i thought it was just me lol. I dont like this gel for my wash n go @ all but i do love it 2 slick my hair back. its not horrible but no where near holy grail.
I actually LOVE this ECO Styler gel. I do however pair it with the ECO Styler Black Castor + Flaxseed leave in conditioner and it's a perfect match. Maybe that's the difference.

Your hair looked good still. But the gel didnt work good for my roots either. The only thing that i did like was the fact that this gel did not flake at all vs the olive oil or argan oil eco styler, those two flake really bad in my hair, but works really good.

I added water to my hair and then put some ECO in it. I woke up and my hair was all dry. It was brittle and everything. I added water to it after that and it was soft again. I'm happy I found this video cause now my hair is amazing.
I bought the 3oz to try it out for $1.49. I really like it!! but also my hair is short rn so I will see if it still works once it's longer.
I use the eco styler with argon oil it's the best for my hair. I few months ago they stopped selling it near where I live so when I was going to order some I came across this flaxseed castor oil kind and ordered it instead. I was very unimpressed. I had the same issue with shrinkage and no hold at the roots. Yes it smells great tho.
I really like using this gel and I can't use the other eco styling gel you mention. It flakes way too much. I have hair beyond 4c hair, and I think the flaxseed gel works better

I agree 100% With everything that you’ve said here this eco-Styler is my least favorite though I did find it to be moisturizing there’s like little to no definition and hold for me. It also looks dry even though it’s not. It was interesting. Every video I watched raved on this but it didn’t do much for me. Great video!
I Love the gel. It gave me the best wash & go I've ever had. I've been natural for 5 years but never really managed to do wash & goes, I just started a few months back . I though the xtreme wet line was the best for me but I just tried this one and it amazing. 4 day wash & go so far. I did try the olive oil one a few times and it was a disaster, I had to wash it out immediately each time. maybe it was my technique at that time or my hair ( I have changed my hair routine since).
I will give the olive one another try one day just see.
I have that same problem with some of my products. Hair not being defined from the roots. I know it wasn't to your satisfaction but I still think it looked good.
This gel seems to work best for people with looser curls. Im 4a. I love this gel!

I love this gel so much, so gentle on my hair. Having oil in my hair (jbco and olive oil) makes the gel a tad thicker to my liking.

Hello I'm trying to redefine my curls but having trouble with it. Yesterday I used ors olive oil co wash and deep conditioner but once it was drying my hair was no longer curly and beautiful like yours. I dried it with my hair dryer any tips
This is the same problem I had. Won't smooth the roots. Bummer!!! Wanted to love it. Just okay for me.
I use this gel but I can only use a little bit of the leave in. The hold is light and if you use a lot cream or leave in you will not get a lasting hold

Like you my curls are not their usual juicy selves and the roots of my hair are not behaving at all and we're not even gone talk about my edges honey ok!!!? Cantu and ecostyler do NOT work for me, I tried this gel with the cantu coconut curling cream and my hair was Soooo flaky
I do you keep your gel from flaking. I have used all the eco styles gels and they all flake up once my hair dries.

I guess I'm not the only one. this gel doesn't seem to do anything for my hair. it seems sticky to me when using it with Shea moisture products, I definitely had to shingle for definition but baby when I tell you when my hair dried it was a mess! it was a MESS. I'm so disappointed. especially since I'm not a gel girl I may have to try the other Eco stylers to figure out what works for me

TRY "SHINE & JAM" by Prostyle.. I got mine at Walmart..
It looks similar to Let's Jam.. But gives a flat, sleek super shiny strong hold.. without the oil that seeps out in Let's Jam.
The oil in Let's Jam makes the hair puff up some.. and doesn't give it as strong of hold.. because of the oil in it..

how long does yor wash n go usually last?
In the Wash n Go Series 3 I liked it when her hair was done without the blowdryer.
This product did well for my wash and go however, it left a nasty build up on my hair.
I thought gel dry hair out? yes or no is it ok to use?
Yes it can dry your hair out, that's why we use a leave in underneath the gel to protect the hair. Just make sure that your leave in and gel work well together or you will have issues.
Threec Turner Most gels contain alcohol's which can be very drying to your hair, the beauty in Eco Styler gels is that they're alcohol free. The Challenge is finding one that works for your hair type and that mixes well with your favorite leave in products. There are tons of them...my advice don't take anyone's word for it bc everyone's hair is different. Good luck
I hated this gel too. I had to work extra extra hard to get my curls to pop and my wash and go didn't even last 3 days at all
