Hey Miri! Thanks for watching! They are just random RGB LED strips from Amazon that I ran on the back of the shelf. The way the wall and the "boxes" worked out, it made a really cool effect. Just want to verify - You put the Kvissle into the cubbies of the Kallax right? I've got so many Kallax/Expedits. This looks like a great way to utilize that empty space.
Love those ikea organizers, look perfect. But how do you have so many minis but I did not see an owlbear?! And would you categorize one as mammal or bird?!
I'd love to store my minis this way, but I'm afraid they'd get a lot of dust over the months or even years during which I don't summon them to my table, and dusting 1000+ minis is quite unpractical XD Do you know any way to deal with that issue?
Probably something with a door to seal them in. I know that Ikea's Billy Bookcases have a windowed door option and additional shelves could be added fairly easily.
I've had these drawers for over a year and those are doing fine. The larger minis such as the dragons or giants just need a little can of air a few times per month. We don't have any pets so maybe that helps?
Unless you’re running some sort of filtration system in a cabinet, you’re going to get dust. They aren’t airtight. It may limit it, sure, but not enough to crusade against open air storage lol
Nope! The larger minis in the exposed cubbies do a little but the kvissle does a great job of keeping out dust. We don't have any pets so that works in my favor, I suppose.
I am curious as to the size of our minis. I see so many people print minis and splay minis and they all look so huge. You can see so much detail, but it could be the camera. I just got in to DnD and in to 3d printing I have printed maybe 50 minis mostly in the medium/large realm they have 1" bases (hero forge). But they look so small in person. I wonder if I am printing at the wrong scale.
Howdy, John! Welcome aboard! A medium mini's base should be 1", a large should be 2", a huge should be 3" and gargantuan or bigger should be at least 4" in diameter. There are minor variations (25mm scale vs 28mm scale vs 32mm scale) but in that ball park.
@@FryMinis yeah I miss spoke. My small - medium are 1”, I don’t have any large, and I have one huge that’s 3”. They just all look so much bigger in people’s YT videos. (And so much detail too)
This is great, but I don't have as many minis, OR the shelving - I'm thinking of categorising and labeling the miniatures themselves, just 2 characters underneath each mini, a letter and a number. then I'll have a chart with all the categories so when I pick up a mini and I'm not sure what it is I can look at the chart, find it's lable and there will be a description of what the mini is on the chart. I'm thinking C = characters, D = Dragons, G=Giants, H = humanoid monsters, M = other monsters...
