My wife and i went to belize in 1998 for our honeymoon. We were pioneers at the time. We were in the jungle on the macaw river. Best ruins we saw were in Guatemala at taikal.
We were there in Early February and thank gawd no Mosquitos.. just in the really shady area’s otherwise safe.. Always carry mosquito repellent on any tour outside a city anywhere.. it’s the smartest approach. Sun screen and mosquito repellent are like 1 and 2 on my list of things to take on tours. We learned the hard way!!
Was so excited to see this comprehensive coverage of Chacchoben Mayan Ruins as it has been on a to-do list for us. We too, have visited Costa Maya several times and have yet to visit these ruins. Great to get good idea of what we'd face while there so can be prepared (bug spray)!
Side benefit of being in Amsterdam this weekend…first comment while I shelter from the rain here and watch your day in Costa Maya. Loving your travels always!
When we went to Tulum on our first cruise it was so hot and humid. We were supposed to have beach time and you can see that beautiful water as we walked around. But, we got in a traffic jam and we did not get our beach time! 😡
Oh no, surprised they didn't say anything about needing bug spray. We never leave home for a cruise without bug protection. Hard to carry spray for carry on only for flying though. They do have mosquito wipes that work. Not sure if the wrist bands they advertise work. It's all about the personal scent as well as deodorant and perfume also. I'm A+, husband is O the "kids" are not O we all get stung/bit. I'm allergic and puff up like I have the measles or chicken pox. Thankfully, due to allergies all my life with the rash, it doesn't make me itch.

Fried catfish (on the buffet no less!) was the best thing I had on Mardi Gras!
With a degree in Anthropology I definitely enjoyed your visit to the village. Thanks for sharing
We did the same excursion last Feb and LOVED it. Highly recomment! It was not as hot and no mosquitos then.
Wow they’ve added so much to Costa Maya since I was there
Having a degree in Archaeology, this is an ideal excursion! Looks fun! 😊❤

That is one great bendy tree! The ruins are impressive, too!
Thank you for video
We had good dinners at the MDR when we were not going to Chibang Ha!
Also a sucker for Bleu Cheese 🧀
Blue cheese is the best !
I think violinists are popular with Carnival last two cruises on the carnival splendor 🛳️here in Sydney 🇦🇺we had violinists very enjoyable
We did a ship tour to Chacchoben and blue lagoon for lunch on the vlogger’s cruise. It was Feb so it was really nice. We loved it.
Chachobben has some shade which is helpful. We visited in early April so no bugs and not too hit. It’s also far less crowded than Tulum.

Me watching the strings performance, “Hey, there’s a 4th person! Oh, that’s her reflection.” 😂
Thanks for your video.❤

That maze at Costa Maya really cuts into our excitement for the port. Oh and minimum rides down that pier?
Even with bug spray, those mosquitoes are vicious!
Costa Maya is a literal tourist trap. The port area is nice, but they really don’t want you to leave.
