  • In the late 1970's the Lubavitchet Rebbe ZT"L established a campaign called: Yavneh Vichachomeah-Bayis Molei Seforim. Stressing the importance for Evey Jewish home to have a Jewish library. We present here some basic, advanced and interesting ideas surrounding Jewish books, and laws and tradition regarding books and Torah study etc.
    We hope you enjoy.

What about those of us who do NOT think that ONE PERSON ( i.e. RASHI) should be the only voice of explaining the Torah or Tanakh?
Is there a commentary on the Tanakh that include the comments of many rabbis?
Concerning Artscroll. Great publishing!!!!!!!!!!! I know there are many road one can go down. I will just comment on ONE part. I bought a copy of the Artscroll Book of Sh'mot- with RAMAN commentary. ( I do not know much about RAMBANNNNNNNNNN, but I am glad that I got THAT part of the Torah.) I was hoping that it was going to be all of the Book of Sh'mot, but it was only chapters 1-20 and I was glad, as I thought about it, that it was THOSE chapters!!!!!!!! The reality of it is that ALL of the truth of G-d and Israel stands and fall on G-d actions in THESE chapters ( esp. 3, 14, and 20).

That's not Jewish it's Greek in the original language

@@theburningelement.6447: The New Testament certainly is a Jewish book. It was authored by Almighty God through Jewish men. It tells the story of a Jewish man, born in a Jewish village, within a Jewish country, who one day walks into a Jewish synagogue and announces He is the promised Jewish Messiah in fulfilment of the prophecies and promises of the Jewish scriptures. It doesn't get any more Jewish than that. In fact, the New Testament is the second part of the Tanakh. Do you consider the Tanakh to be a Jewish book? Most likely you do. So, then do you actually believe our perfect and loving Creator gave us an incomplete book? That God's Word ends at the Book of Malachi with a Jewish Messiah promised but never showing up? No. Our Most High God gave us a complete story. Together, the Tanakh and the the New Testament fit together perfectly, like jigsaw puzzles, revealing the larger picture. The Tanakh and the New Testament tell a single, unified story of humankind's creation, fall from God's grace, and ultimate redemption through the promised Jewish Messiah, Yeshua Hamashiach. All this considered, the New Testament is clearly a Jewish book. But more importantly, it is God's Word that was given to us through Jews. But you are correct in saying the New Testament was originally authored in the Greek language. There is a reason God had the book written in Greek instead of Hebrew. The explanation can be found in both the Hebrew scriptures and the New Testament. But I don't think you'd be happy to learn it.

Hello, May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED."
God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
