Whenever I look back on old Family Fortunes, especially hearing this particular version of the theme tune, I keep thinking about jam doughnuts. Probably because I often used to eat strawberry jam doughnuts when watching the show back during the 90s. We'd just get home from Sainsbury's and then after getting the shopping unpacked before Family Fortunes started, I'd then sit and eat Sainsbury's jam doughnuts and enjoy the show every weekend.
Bob Monkhouse only hosted until 1983?! Wow, I can vividly remember him on it yet I'd only be 3 years old by the time he stepped down!! My memory must be awesome! Now, where did I put my keys?...

Just to correct you It was recorded at Central TV studios, Nottingham. I know because I was the musical director and I wrote the theme.
Do you have the clean version? Without the narration and the studio clapping?
This is indeed a rumour. The sax player was Chris (Snake) Davis.
Best ever version of the theme tune!
