- The Admiral and I hop in the Regal XO for a weekend getaway to a favorite SW Florida boating destination at Cayo Costa ‘s Pelican Bay. It’s a windy day with waves and swells in the Pine Island Sound as we pass Sanibel, Captiva and Cabbage Key making our way to the sand bar. It’s often a big party on the sandbar but this time the dolphin were enjoying themselves.
Travel with us on this series as we get away for an overnight stay on the 26’ Regal XO. We travel to the famous Tarpon lodge resort in the next video!

Nice to see your wife, the admiral driving your boat. When we had our 28 foot regal I never mind my wife driving either. I often went below to take a a shower or do stuff while she was captaining. Also amazed that your regal with the outboard and half thehorsepower of our I/O. is much faster and easier to get up on the plane as our regal. Nice video.
We don’t with much just the two of us aboard so it gets up and goes!
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs it sure does! Perhaps the outboard is half the weight of a I/O as well. You don’t see too many midsize boats up here on the Erie with outboards. I’m going to look for one. As you said before outboards are easier to service and no messy bilge
It’s definitely a florida thing but more and more boats are being made with them.

fun stuff, nice video. Due to my speakers, JBL Party Box 1000 X 2, wind noise quickly becomes uncomfortable. What you did to end the buffeting on the island worked! When you started to drive the boat back, however, the buffeting was back.
I have an External Bluetooth microphone I use at times such as that. Can a small foam windscreen and I tuck it under my shirt so it seems to work. I’ll use more often but it’s hard to hear others at times.
I was out on my boat yesterday (Sunday) and the miserable mile was truly miserable. Tons of boat traffic. Had one boat less then 6 feet off my stern the whole time. Went out by St. James City and Picnic Island fishing. How long did it take from Cape Coral to Pelican Bay? Looks like a nice spot to take the family.

@@pseebs890 well, no kids ( her ex husband pays child support). They sold NY house and bought a much cheaper one $600k ish in Fla on a polluted canal in a hurricane belt). She is still working remotely. Good for them but we aren't talking Rockefellers here.
