    Here is something to consider. When I moved to south Florida, and kept my boat in Miami, I had it hauled and bottom painted, as soon as I got there with it. It was a Wellcraft St. Tropez 32 with twin 454 Crusaders. Out of the yard, I could get it up to 32 knots quickly and easily, but we putted around like you guys, mostly. About four months later, we take it out, and I can not get the thing up on plane. Like you, I think something is wrong with my engines. I get back and tell my harbormaster what happened, and he says, "When's the last time you had the bottom cleaned?" I was like, you know when I hauled it our four months ago. He says, "You haven't been cleaning the bottom? This is south Florida. You have to continually clean the bottom, even with fresh bottom paint." I didn't believe him, but I hired a diver to come clean the bottom of my boat. After he was done, I took it out and it jumped up to 32 knots again. After that, I just sucked it up and paid the diver to come clean it once a month. That may not be your problem, but its one thing to consider. Enjoyed your video!

      You are the winner! You’ll see that in an upcoming video. I’m made myself a hookah dive kit to take care of it myself.

    I saw two different types of steaks when you opened the grill, chopped steak and tube steak. Both of which are delicious. Good to see you guys, and Matey, back on Happy Ours again!

    ❤Nice to see you back in the big boat. Last time we had planing problems we had to replace spark plug wires. Not hitting on all cylinders. Almost ruined our 😅vacation

    Do you ever use a transom anchor along with a bow anchor to help with sway? Love your channel 👍

      We only used stern anchor when trying to keep the stern to the beach. Did that often on the Hudson River when we rafted up with other boats at Croton. You may have seen those videos.

    I would check and see if one of your props is spun. So this same thing happened to my boat last season under load it wouldn't get on plane. WOT and it was not getting up. Took the props in a the starboard was spun.

      Inboard motors don’t have hubs like an IO or outboard. I discovered the problem. Coming up in a special episode later this week.

    Seems like you keep having carb issues with that engine. Or am I just mistaking a cold start for a fuel issue?

    • @AdventuresofHappyOurs
      @AdventuresofHappyOurs  Рік тому

      Was just a cold start. It’s actually running good now. Dumped a bottle of redline in it which makes it smoke a little.

      @@AdventuresofHappyOurs I am not sure on smaller boats but on an 85 foot if it take me 10 feet of chain to his the floor i put down 3 times that amount.

      7 to 1 scope is standard but usually you can get away with 5:1 in light seas. 10 feet of water= 50 feet of anchor rode which is about what we had.

    One of these days we should meet up. I'm tied off at Bonita Bill's Waterfront Cafe.

      Anchored there? I saw they removed all the mooring balls by mantanzas and moved them to pink shell side. Can you anchor in the old mooring field? We’re deciding on a place to go this weekend.

    • @sailingoblio8237
      @sailingoblio8237 Рік тому +1

      You can anchor down by Pink Shell. The mooring field on that side is available without amenities. I'm actually tied at what's left of the dock here at Bonita Bill's marina. I followed your blog when you were going south as I needed to move my sailboat to Florida from New York city.

    Seems like the bottom might have growth if engines are running well, but the boat can't get up to speed.

    • @AdventuresofHappyOurs

      What’s astonishing to me is the bottom was just painted a month prior and hullshield installed.
