    be aware that the NT 520 s not compatible with the F30 BMW platform. They finally admitted after alot of complaints even though they advertised as such. They now want you to buy the NT 530 to do the F30 cars.
    Also according to them.. it cannot be upgraded to include other vehicle. " A POS that i would stay away from. This email is from Foxwell Teck dept."

    Thanks, good info. Mostly I just need for a Ford. But it I should want to go car shopping and read codes... purchasing modules would be a problem.

    I bought this scanner back in 12/18 and did the GM update. It brought the unit up to the 2016 model year. Foxwell has not had an update for GM since 12/18. I just checked again this morning. I have two 2018 vehicles and the scanner wont recognize several of the cars features. Ive been emailing Foxwell every month and they have been useless. They just keep saying to be patient. Well, my NT520 Pro is (3) model years behind. Not happy.

      @@davidjacobs8558 Its a great scanner and does what it says it will. But the company says lifetime free updates which is a great selling point. But now mine has a 4 year old update (updated to 2016) and the company is selling the new ones updated to 2019. So they have the update, just not releasing it. Pretty annoying.

    Did you torque the chassis bolts already? I'm passed 12K and I need to do it.

      Yep, I did. The instructions can be found on the 4Cforums. It's not too difficult.

      It can do the generic OBD stuff for any car, but you'll want to load the software packages for each type of car you're working on to get full functionality. I have mine loaded with Land Rover, BMW, and FIAT/Chrysler.

      How much does it cost each package software

      @BookAutowerks  2 роки тому

      @@christiancook6886 $60, but check with Foxwell. Not sure what their current rates are.

    Hello, managed to register the device. I want to ask , updates cost 60$ , but how long does the license last? on what period?
    And are updates coming up now? is the device still outdated?

      Once you buy the modules they don't expire. They never did make the update to the Alfa module that I requested, so it doesn't seem they are too interested in providing updates. Maybe that's different for cars with higher production numbers... I still use the scanner often.

    Can you get the 38 pin to 16 pin adapter and test it on a early 90's Mercedes

    • @BookAutowerks
      @BookAutowerks  4 роки тому

      Best thing to do would be email them service@foxwelltech.com and ask if they support your vehicle. Might be tricky with an early 90s one...

      @@BookAutowerks 90's Mercs can have both OBD and 38 pin each with different sets of functionality. Many 38 pin adapters don't work I read. Is the 38 pin wire that comes with the 520 Merc specific?
