Beware of Scammers! People are pretending to be me in the comments and asking people to message them on WhatsApp. I will never ask you to message me privately and my course/coaching will only ever be for sale on my website Cassiyjohnson.com . Stay safe and thanks for watching
Everyone says your very first shirt or listing isn’t good and never sells. You should do a video showing your very VERY first listing and critique it and tell us what mistakes were made with it. I would love to see a video like that.
I’m two months in, 140 listings as of this week. I did a lot of things backwards to start, but I have found a production groove that works for me. I’ve had one sale, my daughter. It maybe an expensive hobby, but as a retired person it’s motivating to learn new things. My goal is to reevaluate after a year.
Thank you Cassiy. I'm a little over 2 months in and your advice has helped so much. 55 items (I know that's low), 22 sales, 0 sales the first month. I invested quite a bit now in various softwares, subscriptions, and good mockups. Right now this feels like an expensive hobby but I'm hoping for a good Halloween. I'm in 42 people's carts right now. Just buy already! Lol
My first sale was from a relative. I was trying to get a sale on my own but not having luck. I got my first stranger sale 3 days later and have slowly been getting more since.
I'm still trying to figure out my strategy. I was sending coupons to those who favorites my items but no one was using them. Out of about 25 sent zero claimed. I have since started running sales and lowered my prices to break even levels. If I give them any more of a break I'll be losing money. I may rethink how I'm doing things.
Very inspirational. I started just over a month ago and things are very slow. I just keep reminding myself that anything worth being great at takes time, patience, and a no quit mentality. Thank you Cassiy, your video really helped.
Congrats on getting started! I'm glad my video was inspirational for you and hope that you will keep at it and keep learning everyday if this is something you are really dedicated to building! All the best to you on your journey
I just launched my Etsy Store today and I had my first sale today and I was overwhelmed with joy, I shed a tear because I wanted to do this last year but I am tech challenged so it took me sometime to learn how to set everything up. I wish I discovered your videos last year. Your content would have saved me so much time. Thank you for these videos. I keep thinking I forget something what if they never get the product 😅. I have so many questions but your videos are really helping me answer them. ❤
i published my first tshirt today and It says I did everything correct but I have put every tag I listed in the search bar and I cannot find my listing. How was yours found on the first day?
Cassiy it would be great initiative to start a shop from scratch in this new market dynamic to show us how it's done, it would be such a great case study 🙃
I have been binging your videos for the last month and started my Etsy store around the time I started watching you. It's been a little slow going but I can already see my designs getting better from the first ones I put out now that I'm getting more familiar with Canva and Kittl. I also only have about 30 items but I work full time so it's hard to find the time when you get home after 6 every day. You're right about that euphoric feeling of getting that first sale though. I just got mine! So excited to continue on this journey!
I am playing your vlogs with each step for setting up and now my next is the shop page. You have made the process understandable and so inspiring! Congratulations on the Google article and I saw it after I began with you…that’s confirmation 🦋🙏
Thank you love!! So encouraging but realistic!! I truly appreciate your very simple to understand tutorials!! its because if you and a few other Esty influencers that I mustered up the courage to start my own journey!! I cannot thank you enough
I started w/ printables in July and still haven’t got a sale but finally started POD and listed my first item on 8/25, so 2.5 weeks in. I have 13 printables listings and 25 tshirts/sweatshirts. No sales yet but maybe one day! Thanks for this video ❤
One month in, just 3 sales from people I know...I think the problem is that it has become really difficult the get some visibility. I'm afraid the market has become very saturated with a lot of competition. Still I will keep patient and hang on. As you said, maybe one day! ;)
I think that is a really great start! Like I said in this video, only really 2 out of my first 100 designs sold at all that first month so I'd try some different niches until you find something that works for you! Some great ones to be working on right now are Halloween and Christmas since the search traffic is really starting to pick up for those! Try to be specific with your designs and avoid the super generic stuff like "Happy Halloween" "Merry Christmas" or "Happy fall ya'll" go for things like "One spooky teacher" or something that is much more emotionally connective that if someone sees it, they will be like "wow this was made just for me" or "this would make the perfect gift for x!". All the best
@@CassiyJohnson Though I know it is kind of premature (1 month in, 40 listings) I've been paying for some Etsy ads (3$ a day) and what I noticed is that since my shop his new and has just 5 sales, my Halloween products are not promoted even though I am paying for them to be advertised! My ultra-niche martial arts t-shirts are now at around 500/600 views (views not clicks), while the Halloween T-shirts and mugs barely reach 30 views. Something seems off.
I'm mega small, 3 listings per week! By the time I research, design, keyword research, prepare images - then do the actual listing - that can be half a day 😂
Love that you're always so positive ! and actually just love all your videos! I'm opening my Etsy store in a few days so yours videos help me a lot. I'm sooooooo excited about it. Love that it allows you to be creative compared to drop shipping. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 😊🩷
Me too! I also watch Fixed Point, his channel is great too. I thought I’d open in a couple of days but that was a stretch 😂 After creating a few designs, downloading, uploading, creating mock ups, etc, I now realise that it’s going to take a little longer to get my store ready for selling.
Opened my store August 20, woke up the next morning locked out. I got suspended before even listing anything 😂 Regained access about 48 hours later, and started listing. Had some family things to deal with so I haven’t posted much since opening. I have 40 listings total and just got my first sale yesterday!
Hello! First I want to say thank you for your videos, they are very informative and also kind of uplifting to me. I started my store about 2 month ago, and actually I opened it after I saw one of your videos. I got my 1st sale after a few weeks but that was a friend, and then my 2 sisters in law also buy something to show support I was kind of loosing hope but suddenly just 2 days ago I finally got my very first sale from a stranger and just like you said this was the boost I needed to keep going cause its hard to work and have no sales, but I know this things take time.
Congrats on your first sale from a stranger!! I know it took awhile but likely now you have an idea about what maybe worked for that listing and you can use that knowledge to make more different designs for that niche or make similar designs for other niches. You've go this
As always, I appreciate your content! I have used your advice often when working on my shop. I opened in late July and made my first sale August 9th. I have 5 total sales so far with 73 listings. I've noticed that I get a lot of favorites and ad clicks but it seems I'm struggling on actually converting those faves/clicks to sales. Waiting for the day when those orders come in on a consistent basis and my Etsy alerts aren't just for favorited items :).
Congrats on getting started and getting a few sales! I know it's not as fast as you were hoping but you should be really proud! Just keep learning and trying new things until you find something that works but remember not to sacrifice on the little details either. Make sure your designs emotionally connect to the niche, like if you are making a design for a gender reveal, use colors like pink and blue, or if you are making Thanksgiving shirts, make sure to use shirt colors that make sense for thanksgiving, these little details can make a big difference! Try to really make the design for the customer and what they would want instead of what you like. You've got this!
I started POD end of this August and I am using Etsy adds. I haven't had a sale yet but trying not to get discouraged. I sell t-shirts and mugs. I have about 40 items and adding every week new items. I hope I get a sale soon, Etsy adds has boosted my traffic somewhat. Thanks for the video
I started my Holiday Gifys 23 shop just 2 weeks ago and got my 1st sale yesterday!! It is an ornament that I designed using the tools you gave me I was already familiar with Canva but hadn't herd of Creative Fabrica or Printify. I LOVE LOVE LOVE designing! So this is right up my Ally. I have about 60 items in my shop and adding more every day! Thank you for your tutorials! I never would have tried this if I hadn't watched your videos. I have a lot to learn and am hopeful that I can build this up and have a successful 2023 holiday season. Thank you!!!!
I began POD back in November 2022. I've sold 2 shirts. 4 mugs and 2 of those were from a supportive friend. I've spent so much money on this journey. It's very discouraging
Hey Cassiy, Thank you so much for all the helpful information. I have been binge watching all your videos. I have had a shop for about a year but was only selling handmade stuff, 25 sales with 45 listings. I am building up listings to add for POD products to my shop. I still have lots to learn but I am a SAHM of older kids so I have all day and night to work at this.
I'm excited for you to get started with POD! I would recommend not to overthink it or wait to post the things you have made. There is only so much you can learn before you start doing. All my best lessons were learned after I figured out what was selling and what wasn't. Don't feel like everything needs to be perfect, you've got this and you will learn slowly over time just like everything else
Thank you so much for your videos and all the valuable information that you sharing for FREE!!!! The idea of opening an Etsy shop has been seating in my mind for a while and now I’m getting encouragement from you to finally start my shop😊
Thank you so much for this video, I've been wanting to open an etsy shop since forever (more than 10 years), I live in Chile so the costs of handmade products were horrible, but now with POD i think i could make it, and my excuse now is dealing with customer service and taxes and accountants, I'm sooo scared but Every day I keep studing your videos and videos from other generous etsy sellers and I'm thinking I'm going to do it, I'll start this year. Thank you again for your content, Love from Chile.
Don't feel like you need to have all of that figured out from day one, you can slowly learn as you go and there are lots of great resources here on UA-cam to help you as well
100% agree with you. I am happy, I happened to run across an article about your story. Will be spending some time watching all of your videos. I opened my shop 2015. I have had good success on a side hustle level, knowing I also have a full time job. Thank you for sharing your experience here.
I started my shop Oct. 19th, currently have 53 listings, and have spent probably around $130 on various software and sample products. I made my first two sales yesterday!
I totally agree, many people say that it’s free to start but if you really want your shop to be attractive you need to get all these subscriptions to other websites and buy mock-ups 😅 I have spent about $300 and have had only one sale from my sister. It has been two months and I am getting a little desperate lol 😂
So glad you enjoyed this video and I am excited for you to get started! Now is such a perfect time because you have some big holidays approaching and could get your store started off with a big boost! I would open in the next week or two so you can really still be early for Christmas. Don't overthink it or feel like you need to have tons of designs to get started, you just need one. The faster you start listing, the faster you will start learning what works and what doesn't. I would design 50% for evergreen niches like funny shirts, professions and hobbies and then 50% for upcoming holidays like Christmas right now, a little but of Thanksgiving and New years and then Valentines Day and the 100th day of school. This will help give you a well rounded shop that doesn't just make sales for the holiday and then die in January. All the best to you
I started my etsy shop (Fortunas Studios) with my mom on Sept 12! We're at 57 listings and no sales YET but I know this is a numbers game so we're powering through :)
Hi Cassiy, huge fan and follow your channel for tips and tricks. I started this year in Feb 2023 and have about 440 listings currently. I have 0 sales. Still trying to push forward and keep doing what I do everyday hoping that Q4 will give me a motivation booster. Trying to stay positive!
7 months in, 440 listings and zero sales?? Something is very very off there. You should pay for a store audit from an Etsy expert. That doesn’t add up.
Followed your free course so thank you for that. Started a month ago and no sales yet>. Its taking me forever to list one item and I think I am stressing too much about seo not sure lol. Looking forward to my first sale. Maybe in month 2
Thank you for video, very informative. 🎉Just getting started… but I find putting the design on the mock-ups as to measuring it to look same as how Printify places it on their shirts to be difficult. Also mock-ups seem to be different colors then POD. Got them from Etsy. Do you have a video explaining this? Thank you.
Last month I was able to follow your free mini course step by step and opened my Etsy shop! Thank you!! Yesterday I made my first sale (thanks to a family member😊) and didn’t know until just now that I was supposed to go to Printify and manually submit those orders for production. Do you have a workflow suggestion about this? Do you set a fixed time each day to manually submit orders in Printify? My store policy allows customers to cancel an order within 2 hours of placing it. Thanks so much!
Started a month ago and the few sales I have on record were to family. Organically, nothing at all yet. Still pushing strong and learning more as I go, but it's vital for anybody to understand that Etsy is an entirely different landscape right now than it was in 2020, in almost every aspect. There are many stories of first month to first 3 month results etc, from many YT creators, and almost all of them stem back to a time when things were vastly different. It's disheartening. But the metaphoric show must go on. One day, I tell myself... one day
People were saying when I started in 2020 that sales were way down compared to normal and that they would be so much better after the pandemic, other people were saying it was oversaturated, tried for a few months, didn't get sales and then gave up. Meanwhile people are starting their stores and getting sales like this every single day! I get messages constantly of people getting their first 10 sales, 100 sales or 1000's of sales. I just interviewed a girl who started last August and just hit 100k. I'll be releasing her interview soon! Please don't let these excuses of "they started in 2020 so it was easier back then" hold you back. It's just not true. Here is an interview I did with Natalie that started recently and has made lots of sales as another good example ua-cam.com/video/IGZO4dZewYA/v-deo.htmlsi=ZLKi2zDWqdO54cpI
Thank you for your great videos, Cassiy! Could you please explain more about the first few months on Etsy? Especially when Etsy holds back your money. How much money does one need? If suspended, does that count in? Any other potential pitfalls? Where to get this info? I am researching for a new shop :)
Hey Cassiy, I just want to thank you so much for your incredible tutorials. It has helped so much and has made some sales. I am getting a lot of requests for Toddler Sweatshirts, and Printify does not offer these. So can you recommend a POD provider that does. Again you are the best and enjoy you so much. Blessings to you.
Hi Cassiy. I been following you for over a year. You actually helped me start my first pod store l. Shopify. I made about $21k in revenue I am now gonna open a new store in Etsy and will take everything you yea h to build me a better business I’m hopes to leave my 9 to 5
Hi, Cassie I just started my shop about a month a go and I have sold anything yet. I'm very new on this and teaching my self how to do this on you tube videos. Your videos and motivation are amazing 😊. I'm going to keep trying and using your advice to make better designs.
@CassiyJohnson , your videos are amazing and so helpful, im learning how to do way better designs, and you teach in a way that is so easy to learn. Thank you 😊 💓
I opened my shop on 8/7 of this year. I had my first order on 8/13 and it was a multi-item organic order. I was so excited! I now have only 12 sales total (most from friends and family) and have been running ads since I hit the 15 day mark. I have over 100 listings now and am trying to add more each day. I am just under the sales minimum for star seller but well under the 90 day shop age. Most of my designs are seasonal (Halloween) and I’m wondering if that was a mistake the further we get into September. I’m going to persist and will see how Q4 goes before I decide if this is really for me. I feel like I’ve invested so much in time and software, mock-ups, etc. and have been feeling like a failure. Thank you for sharing your first month’s spend. It’s really helpful to see that there is a need for that up-front investment even if right now it feels like a waste.
Thank you so much for your videos! They are helping a lot. My journey has been very very slow. I started my Pod back in December 2022. I was not consistent and did not put much time in it. May of 2023 is when I started getting serious about it. I am two away from having 100 listings! I work full time and go to school part time so I try to put in time as much as I can. Hopefully soon I’ll get an organic sale!
@@CassiyJohnson Thanks so much! I now have 101 listings. I do have some Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas designs up already. I will implement the other ideas you gave me! I appreciate it!
Can you please make a video on the finance side of POD? as in more information on taxes and accounting, what you use to track sales, and business registration. As an Australian, i dont know where to turn to when it comes to selling to US customers, do i need to apply for GST (etc...)? No one ever covers the financial side of having a business and its one of the most important things to know.
good stuff... i actually wanted to ask how long it took to get a sale / number of initial sales. just decided to start doing this, ive been wanting to do tshirt design since i was in my early 20s, i am now 43, so whoa, nellie! but inspiring, just gotta let fo of my natural pessimism! but good on you and well done, hope your store and your journey only brings you more fulfillment!
Cassiy I started at the beginning of July and have only had a couple of sales through friends. I am in the UK and quickly realised I’d be better selling in the USA. I only have about 50 listings (which are mostly teacher and Halloween related )and really struggle with making different versions of what is popular. I also spend too long designing. I’ve turned on ads on my new listings and think I’ve got my head around SEO. No luck yet though. Love your videos though and look forward to new ones coming out. If you have any advice for me it would be greatly appreciated x
Love your videos. I have been binge watching them the last couple of days. Your instructions are so clear & concise. Thank you for sharing. I’m just starting my mug & tumbler shop. How many items should be my initial goal? Do you have a video on the process of when you receive a personalized Etsy order and it’s to be fulfilled by Printify?
I think a good initial goal would be to do 3 listings per day for 30 days to try to get around 100 listings your first month! And yes I have a video about what to do with personalized orders when you get them, here is the link! ua-cam.com/video/zfUQpqITuPE/v-deo.htmlsi=1UQQXhXpg5K7kh14
@@CassiyJohnsonIn watching your video about personalization I have made a mistake and not sure how to correct it. You said, make the design on Etsy first, I made the design on Printify first and then I published it to Etsy. Can you suggest how I need to correct this, or do I just need to delete all the personalized mugs and start them on Etsy? Thanks again for actually taking time out of your busy day to respond.
Hi Cassiy, I’m obsessed with your you tube, and listen to others but keep coming back to yours!I have set up a Etsy shop, but haven’t started to design and list yet. I want to get in on the Q4, but the one thing holding me back is the fear of the customer service end. I am artistic, but the tech side is not my strong point. Is this a hard thing to do, or is it pretty repetitive. I would love to hear from you, and thank you so much for all the valuable information!
Someone pretending to be me just commented back to you so don’t message them please! Congrats on getting started 🎉 the customer service grows slowly and I feel like was pretty manageable! I’ve got a video or two from last year about getting ready for Q4 that I think you’d find helpful if you go check them out. You’ve got this!
I have over 100 listings in my POD shop and am using great mock-ups and researching my SEO and have sales going every 2 days and have reasonable pricing and even doing Ads and have been doing this for approximately a month and still have yet to get a sale. I realize it takes time especially since most of my designs are for Q4 and we are just starting the season.
I absolutely love your channel. I have watched well over 100 videos about POD and you are one of my very favorite people to watch. I have a question. I have chosen a niche that is having a convention near my home. How could I capitalize on that and advertise my Etsy business?
I've thought about doing this before, actually went to a couple t-shirt design sites and was having a hard time figuring out how to actually design the shirts... would love to have a little guidance. Thank you for your info. This is the 1st video of yours I've watched, planning on watching all!!! Thanks
I'm heading to my 4th year selling on Etsy, and apart from Q4, where I got $1000+ revenue both in November and December, every other month, I'm still far from the $900 you did in your first month even this far down the line. I've had a couple of best sellers, but I am still waiting for something to skyrocket. I'm doing more research now and hoping to score something to finally pass this plateau I'm stuck on. It's not an easy task, and it's a lot of work, I'm trying not to get defeated. No instant results.
Congrats on keeping at it even though you aren't getting the results you want! My best advice to you is to make sure you have a healthy balance of Evergreen niches that could sell at any time throughout the year and then the other half being early for Holidays and making sure you are adding value. Finding bestselling niches and then turning them into group shirts is really one big thing that started to move the needle for me since those people would buy multiple every time instead of just one and I really stood out in the search results! Try to think outside of the box on how you can combine two popular things like a popular hobby/professions with an upcoming holiday for example. I know there is lots to learn but it sounds like you are heading in the right direction. Just make it a habit to everyday look at bestsellers in random niches like "women's shirts" for example and also bestsellers in the upcoming holiday, eventually you will start to see trends really early and can hop on these new upcoming bestselling niches while they are new! Hope this helps and you've got this!
@@CassiyJohnson super reply Cassiy, thanks so much for taking the time to respond. I think that is the hardest thing about POD: pulling all the relevant pieces out of your research and combining them within your designs. It's easy to see best-sellers. It's an art to stand out in a market gap based on them. Ultimately, our designs are unique, but we will not know if we have done things right until we get a hit. The hardest part is when we keep trying and fall short. I still feel like I'm walking in the desert. However, I'm super proud of what I've achieved. I can't tell myself I haven't given it a good try. I'll take your advice and see what I can do. I appreciate it a lot. I love your content. It is super inspiring.
@@CassiyJohnson While spending 30 minutes looking through some of the best sellers of 'women's shirts, ' I am starting to see the odd trend. One I wouldn't trust because it's a trademark, others that are a little too late. However, as I keep searching and checking search volume and competition with Erank, I'm sure I'll stumble on something soon. I'm going to limit designing in favor of researching first. Once I see a good potential, I'll go all in with design ideas and how to present them.
Would you recommend combining multiple styles into one listing or separate them into their own listing? For example, I create a design and create a listing for a hoodie and a sweatshirt with various sizes and colors. Then I use that same design to create another listing for Tees, Womens Tees, kids Tees, and long sleeve tees with various sizes and colors. Do you think this is a best practice or would it be more profitable to create one listing for each shirt style? I just passed 1 month, I have 36 listings. Each listing has 2-4 shirt styles. I'm making it a habit to post one new listing every day, with a goal of hitting 100 listings before slowing down with listing new things.
Very nice to hear honest feedback rather than pie in the sky insta-dreams. I've been open a month in an overly saturated market with no sales. I've become obsessed with tweaking my SEO. I think I've heard a million different opinions on what to do. I think at this point, I have to leave it alone and wait. Difficult to wait when you are constantly questioning whether your approach is right.
My best advice to you is to do your own research anytime you are not sure of something! Everyone has their own experiences and opinions on how to do things but the real proof is sitting right on Etsy for you. When I do my SEO, I look at the top 4-5 sellers in that niche and use the same keywords they used in my titles and tags that make sense for my design as well. Don't overthink it, if it's working for them then it will work for you too! I go to Etsy and research the bestsellers for every decision I make in my business! What mockups to use? Look at the bestsellers and then buy the same or similar types of mockups for that profuct. What price to sell them at? Look at 10 bestselling stores and see what is working for them. All the answers are out there so you don't have to guess or take anyone else's word for it
Hello Cassiy, I just came across you channel today. I've been setting up a brand selling on KDP and for the ROI it's not what I would consider brilliant, it's slow to say the least. I've been thinking about selling on Etsy for a while now but every time I looked online ie. UA-cam I didn't like the people or channels I saw. Seemed to be the same old get rich super quick, sit on a beach and only do 2 minutes of work a week crap. But then, I see a shinning light "you channel". I subscribed straight away and have already watched about 8 or so of your videos today and loved everything I've seen so far. I'll defiantly be going through all your videos and looking into any courses you offer. My goal for online business is $100,000.00 per month, which might sound crazy to some people. But if you shoot for the stars and don't quite make it at least you'll have a beautiful view in space. Anyway, think you're awesome and thank you for all the content, looking forward to all future videos and content. Cheers IrishDave.
Hi! Thats so cool, quick question. So did you have a etsy store and a seperate website with your products also? Like 2 different things, does one send to the other?
I so appreciate all your videos. Can you help me with pricing? What’s your pricing recipe? What % net profit after all Etsy fees and COG do you set for your items? I have to pay the 15% offsite ad fee on Etsy and I'm not yet getting enough sales to warrant paying the pro Printify fee. So I pay the higher price for the items on Printify. Do you charge shipping to cover it in your COG? How do you price your items to compete with so many sellers doing constant sales? Somehow it's not penciling a profit at what the competition is charging. Do you have a video on this? Thank you
I think as soon as you get your first few sales then it's worth it. Once you are selling around 5-20 items per month depending on how much discount you get off each item type, then it pays for itself. But it doesn't back date so you need to have purchased it before you got the sales to get the discount. So totally up to you if you want to buy it after you get your first sale or wait until you are for sure making enough in a month to cover it. But I do have a free month available coupon with code CASSIY30 if you want to use a free month to try it first
Thanks for another great video!❤ I started this Juli and until now I only sold 5 items, 3 to ma besties 😁... I have almost 200 listings right now and I upload new ones every day. With checking bestsellers and special mockups and and and... I will stay positive and continue, but I really don't understand why it is soooo slow... 😢 I do have really good designs, being a designer since a long time anyways... But I know I will rock it one day 😊🎉 Like I said, I will stay positive ❤ Ommmm 😅
I haven't seen your designs but I will tell you that a lot of people with a design background tend to "over design". It can be different applying those skills to something like apparel because a good graphic design doesn't always translate to a good t-shirt design. I really stress that simple sells. My first bestselling shirt I am talking about in this video was just a gray shirt with white text and that's it. I'd recommend really sitting down and spending an hour going through tons of bestsellers on Etsy and see if you pick up on what they have in common and how you can implement different design techniques they have into your designs. Hope this helps some and best of luck on your journey!
@@CassiyJohnson Thank you so much for your reply!! 😍 Yes, you are right! I did watch so many of your videos already where you are talking about that and I did focus on that, also having many "easy" designs because of your great help online ~ ❤️ I will try to focus even more on that again.. Thanks again! I really appreciate you taking the time to answer me! 🥰🙌 God bless you ~
Started my Etsy Shop and already got 700 Shirts up. Still only 10 sales in two Months.. I don't know, if the design is bad, or it's a summerhole. I have 2-17 views a day. I hope it turns better to Christmas. Anyway, Thanks for always be encouraging! You give me hope to leave my awful job.
From the perspective of someone opening a new shop, how did you drive traffic to your store without spending on Etsy ads? I am making new listings everyday but I barely get any store visits :(
Another great video Cassiy! I opened my shop in July and have 110 listings and only five sales so far. It is disappointing, but I keep plugging away. I follow all your content and it has gotten me this far, but I am considering your road map course, and wondering if it would benefit me now that my shop is already started. Also, I live in Canada, so would your course apply? Thank you for all your help.
Congrats on your first few sales!! I know it's not as many as you want but at least now you know that it's possible and can start to understand which or your deigns get sales and which ones don't. My course does cover how to set up shop but the majority of it is to help you build systems and habits to make this a repeatable business to get you consistent sales on Etsy! I'd love for you to join my in my course if you feel like it would be a good fit for you
Thanks Cassiy I have been signed up to your course for a few days now and am loving it! So much great information. Thanks for all that you do.@@CassiyJohnson
I went public with my store in June to friends and family and then announced it to Facebook in August. I have 14 sales so far. Would love some tips on what I can do to speed up progress.
Hi, quick question I am in UK so can I still set up everything the same way and sell in USA 🇺🇸 from here. Love all your video so informative 👍🏻 thanks Barry
I just started at the beginning of this month, so I’ve been doing it for almost 2 weeks. I haven’t had a sale yet, but I only have ~15 products up. My goal is to list at least 10 items each week, more if possible. I do feel like I’m getting more views as I go, even without sales yet.
Hello Cassiy, I had my shop open for two months now and I had had one sale only (purchase from my sister) I am not sure if I might be doing something wrong 😑 I saw a video where a UA-camr suggested that we don’t add comas to our listing title and I have not been doing it so I wonder if that might be confusing for people who are looking at my listings. Also, I mainly have Halloween/Fall shirts, gardening, teachers shirts and mugs for all three as well. I started adding Christmas shirts as well. Would you have any advice for me? Thanks 😊
I work full time and don't have the mental energy to invest in my etsy store like I want to.. I feel so scattered.. It's been open for a long time now but still just in the starting stages.
Thank you Cassy for another informational video. I have a beginner shipping question! I have had my shop up for a 4 months and noticed a lot of my listings lately are all the sudden asking to change my shipping profiles. I thought that was updated in Printify. But have been choosing the priority 1st class on etsy. Is this the right way to do this?? Or should it be done via Printify? My 1st sale, a month ago, took 3 days once I put the order through and my 2nd sale, a few weeks ago, took almost 10 days! This makes me nervous for the holidays!
Cassiy, I really love your videos. Thank you! I have a question about graphics... if you are buying the graphics and they are not "handmade" and you are not physically creating the product (shirt, mug, or whatever) how does that work with Etsy's handmade policy? I have read recently that Etsy is beginning to crack down in enforcing their "handmade" policy. I thought all designs had to be completely original.
As long as you are still creating the overall design using elements that you purchased, then I think this still falls well within the handmade policy! Etsy has no problem with people using a printing partner
Hi just getting started with POD! Love your videos! Thank you for all the knowledge and insight!! *One question if I may? … I noticed my shipping times are much longer than other shops in Etsy. For example another shop shipping is within 5days yet my listing is showing shipping as soon as 17days!!! Please help!!!😅 thank you so much in advance ❣️
Please do a video talking about how to handle returns/customer service calls. I opened an Etsy store and only got up about 10 listings but then got worried about how to handle my customer service calls while I'm at my day job and I stopped. I work very busy, stressful full time job and am so concerned that people are going to be calling me while I'm at work and I simply won't be able to take their calls. And I can't afford to hire a customer support person to manage those calls. I'd love to know how you handled this while you were working? This is the one thing holding me back. I don't want to do all the work to get my store with hundreds of listings and then have to shut down my store because I can't handle all the customer support calls. I realize that I may be worried for nothing but nobody talks about this so it looms large in my mind. How many of these calls do you get in a day/week? Thank you!
Watching and following your mini guide. On making markups. When I click create a design, an edit photo is not on options with customize size. What am I doing wrong.
Sorry that changed recently, I’ll go update it soon but here’s the new instructions! 1. Create a design 2. Import a file (at the bottom where the add an image button used to be) 3. Click the image you want to add 4. Click "use in a new design" 5. Select "Custom size" at the top 6. It should auto populate the size and you just click "create new design"
Beware of Scammers! People are pretending to be me in the comments and asking people to message them on WhatsApp. I will never ask you to message me privately and my course/coaching will only ever be for sale on my website Cassiyjohnson.com . Stay safe and thanks for watching
Hi,
This is Imran. I need your help will you?
Everyone says your very first shirt or listing isn’t good and never sells. You should do a video showing your very VERY first listing and critique it and tell us what mistakes were made with it. I would love to see a video like that.
I’m two months in, 140 listings as of this week. I did a lot of things backwards to start, but I have found a production groove that works for me. I’ve had one sale, my daughter. It maybe an expensive hobby, but as a retired person it’s motivating to learn new things. My goal is to reevaluate after a year.
Yes I agree!!! People who started around Covid were lucky 🙌
i started last week and already have a revenue of $57. I would recommend making things you like and care about, it makes it easier and more fun.
Lol
What was the difference between your first and second sales
My first sale was from a relative. I was trying to get a sale on my own but not having luck. I got my first stranger sale 3 days later and have slowly been getting more since.
Probably waiting for discount code
3d halloween craft u cut out on cricut like masks, hats, fake glasses, 3d spiders
I started my shop roughly 3 weeks ago have 17 listings and got 3 favourites from strangers and 0 sales, I’m glad that I found your channel ❤❤
I just started my pod business yesterday and it's all thanks to you Cassiy! I'm pretty nervous but excited to start a new journey.
Congrats on getting started, I am super excited for you
Good luck. I'm planning to start in the next week or so!
I love your videos - you are so authentic and supportive. I've got one product up and am shooting for your 3 a day for 30 days advice. Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed the video!! Definitely come back and let me know how the month ends for you and if you reached your goal
Did you reach your goal @geekrific
I have to applaud you for the determination....keep at it. Don't lose the flow and keep hustling. Never settle with OF and any bad things.
Thanks!
Appreciate your content so much I am using the tools you give with each vlog❤️🦋🙏
So glad you are getting good value from my videos, I appreciate your nice comment
@@CassiyJohnsonI just tried twice to purchase your calendar but once I complete the PayPal portion, nothing happens. Is this item still available?
Thanks for this video ❤
about the same situation here... lets keep going!
By the time I research, design, keyword research, prepare images - then do the actual listing - that can be half a day 😂
Great video, Cassiy! TVM
I thought I’d open in a couple of days but that was a stretch 😂
After creating a few designs, downloading, uploading, creating mock ups, etc, I now realise that it’s going to take a little longer to get my store ready for selling.
I've been working on setting things up this week and am going to list my first 15 listings today!
Wow 15 in one day, way to start off strong!!
Opened my store August 20, woke up the next morning locked out. I got suspended before even listing anything 😂 Regained access about 48 hours later, and started listing. Had some family things to deal with so I haven’t posted much since opening. I have 40 listings total and just got my first sale yesterday!
What a rollercoaster!! Sounds so similar to my story. Glad you kept at it through all of that and congrats on your first sale
You've go this
Cassiy! I saw you featured in CNBC Make It article, im only a subscriber but im so proud of you!
Thank you Cassiy for the incredibly smart, honest, and valuable information! I've watched several of your videos now and will keep going!
I love your channel and your encouragement to beginners starting a new business. Thank you for your knowledge and support.
So appreciate you! I am diffidently going to start my store in the next week from scratch. Again, Thank you so much.
Holiday Gifts 23
Yesss don't wait another day! Now is the PERFECT time to get started
Great job learning so much and getting so many listings up in your first few weeks, sounds like those first two sales were well earned
I'm surprised that you did not have to spend money beyond the $800. Thank you for being realistic about upfront expenses to potentially come into.
Happy I could share this to give you a realistic idea of what it looks like and what costs go into it
I totally agree, many people say that it’s free to start but if you really want your shop to be attractive you need to get all these subscriptions to other websites and buy mock-ups 😅 I have spent about $300 and have had only one sale from my sister. It has been two months and I am getting a little desperate lol 😂
This was inspiring! I'm so grateful for your tips! I plan to start in the next few weeks!
All the best to you
Thank you so much for this great video! 😊 very inspiring and truthful on your beginnings! An honest approach. Thank you!
I started my etsy shop (Fortunas Studios) with my mom on Sept 12! We're at 57 listings and no sales YET but I know this is a numbers game so we're powering through :)
Definitely want to get this started in these next couple of weeks.
I started in May, didn’t get a sale until 2 months in. I’m at 20 sales currently, 300 listings. Hoping Q4 is everything I want it to be! 🤣
@@SummerBaby728 didn't know something like that existed. Can you point me to the right direction?
Hey saw the cnbc article about you! Congratulations!
Aww thank you very much!! Super cool to be featured on there
Hi Cassiy. I started my store on Etsy on 8/5/23 and got my first sale on 9/15/23.
I haven’t looked yet; do you have a video of how to start your creative juices? What kind of designs and/or ideas might you suggest?
Thank you.
Just now trying to think of a side business. This is interesting. Need to dive into more of your videos to get educated more.
Congrats on your first sale!! Here is a video I made on what to do after your first sale and I go over how you can set this up to be automatic instead
Started last October and I made my first sale after 3 weeks which was organic and some friends also bought that in first month:)
One day, I tell myself... one day
Same here almost 3 months nothing
Exactly. Many of them started during the pandemic, or right before, it is definitely a different landscape, but I won’t let that deter me.
Shopify. I made about $21k in revenue
I am now gonna open a new store in Etsy and will take everything you yea h to build me a better business I’m hopes to leave my 9 to 5
Hi, Cassie I just started my shop about a month a go and I have sold anything yet. I'm very new on this and teaching my self how to do this on you tube videos. Your videos and motivation are amazing 😊. I'm going to keep trying and using your advice to make better designs.
Congrats on getting started
@CassiyJohnson , your videos are amazing and so helpful, im learning how to do way better designs, and you teach in a way that is so easy to learn. Thank you 😊 💓
This is an excellent video. Thank you so much. I am excited
Just read the article on you on CNBC- congrats!
Christmas, birthdaynumber sales
It will happen! Keep at it!
Great job on getting started
@@CassiyJohnson Thanks so much! I now have 101 listings. I do have some Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas designs up already. I will implement the other ideas you gave me! I appreciate it!
Hello, I really admire you, you are famous even in Vietnam, I saw you in a business magazine in Vietnam, I wish you much success and luck.❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Do you have a video on the process of when you receive a personalized Etsy order and it’s to be
fulfilled by Printify?
I love your video's
I have over 100 listings in my POD shop and am using great mock-ups and researching my SEO and have sales going every 2 days and have reasonable pricing and even doing Ads and have been doing this for approximately a month and still have yet to get a sale. I realize it takes time especially since most of my designs are for Q4 and we are just starting the season.
Keep at it! It will happen!
What happens if someone returns a product from your site? How do you go about this? Do you have a video or any info? Thanks :) great videos btw 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks
You are a gifted teacher:-)
Should I post my listings as they are created or all at once on a specific day of the week? Is there an optimal day to post during the week?
Thank you. This was helpful.
All the answers are out there so you don't have to guess or take anyone else's word for it
Woud you use those similar tags even thought there a millions of others using the same tags?@@CassiyJohnson
Thank you
Hi, do you recommend to subscribe to printing premium as a beginner?
I am so glad you are loving it so far!!
I went public with my store in June to friends and family and then announced it to Facebook in August. I have 14 sales so far. Would love some tips on what I can do to speed up progress.
Can you do a video on pricing? How do some Etsy sellers sell products like shirts so cheap?
I think you'll find this video super helpful! ua-cam.com/video/DSdBNp2nZuk/v-deo.htmlsi=3vkVGcx0NGIl4-lg
I am definitely interested
Hi, quick question I am in UK so can I still set up everything the same way and sell in USA 🇺🇸 from here. Love all your video so informative 👍🏻 thanks Barry
I just started at the beginning of this month, so I’ve been doing it for almost 2 weeks. I haven’t had a sale yet, but I only have ~15 products up. My goal is to list at least 10 items each week, more if possible. I do feel like I’m getting more views as I go, even without sales yet.
Hello Cassiy,
I had my shop open for two months now and I had had one sale only (purchase from my sister) I am not sure if I might be doing something wrong 😑 I saw a video where a UA-camr suggested that we don’t add comas to our listing title and I have not been doing it so I wonder if that might be confusing for people who are looking at my listings.
Hi I’m interested in more information on starting a print and sell 🤗
Thank you!
Wanting and trying to get started doing print on demand.
Hi Cassie did you get your shop suspended after the article? Or just take it down?
What article are you referring to? I saw her shop shut down too, not sure what happened
Watching and following your mini guide. On making markups. When I click create a design, an edit photo is not on options with customize size. What am I doing wrong.
Sorry that changed recently, I’ll go update it soon but here’s the new instructions!
1. Create a design
2. Import a file (at the bottom where the add an image button used to be)
3. Click the image you want to add
4. Click "use in a new design"
5. Select "Custom size" at the top
6. It should auto populate the size and you just click "create new design"
Can you please show us an example of your first tshirt you designed at all? Just curious.
