The young actress will hopefully one day, grace our televisions, in a big budget film.
    Her acting was immensely superb.

A mother was deathly terrified of public school education.
She insisted on providing maths, science, and history with her own adaptation.
Her husband's dead, "All lies!" she said, her daughter none the wiser.
Now mother's tied up, her girl unstable, and poor dad's a bag of fertilizer.

I love the poem at the ending.
    In the woods
In the woods is where I go
    Whenever I am free
And when I go in the woods
    I see the in-between
We don't know how the place works
But we do know that it's there
We all know it's the door
    That opened here to there
Because that's where there is the space
    That caught us in-between
The things we see right here
And the ones we haven't seen
And when we all go through that place
    The world will turn around
    There
Foxes fly, water is dry, and the trees are upside-down
The flies are in the sky
And the sky is on the ground
So we must keep on exploring
    Until the day we doubt
    But the way into nightmare
    Is our only way out.

Not one monster, not one scare, but I was still unsettled, drawn to the edge of my seat. This was phenominal, in a world full of movies about monsters with endless pop ups and cheesy atmosphere, this is a masterpiece. A huge round of applause to the creators. The last horror movie/short movie to litterally make me feel this unsettled and uneasy was Gerard's Game, and this has topped it. Bravo!

Home education is a large commitment in terms of time, resources and finances, it attracts more middle class families with the ability to afford help, tutoring or even guidance later on. Obviously there are exceptions, but still. That's extremely narrow-minded of you to say.

@@markferguson3745 I'm one of five children who did very well with home education. Education Otherwise and various other sites have online boards where you can access the abilities of the parents or guardians educating their children. While there are some sketchy cases, the majority of these boards seem to be families concerned with the welfare of their children when it comes to overcrowding, individual learning needs, accessibility, lack of one-on-one support, bullying, abuse of guidelines or legislation in education, an overly generalised, mandatory attitude to learning on all/specific subjects, lack of appropriate resources, and various other factors.
Prejudice is not an attractive trait in many people, and the same applies here. Get to know the people you're criticising. There will always be some radicalism in or out of school, but those numbers aren't prevalent here in the UK.

Well done! It didn't scare me...it was an unsettling feeling. Yet it left me softly thoughtful. Also I felt triumph for the girl - letting her mother live in her illusion but protecting her own self from any further brainwashing. I feel a sequel to see where she goes without a guide into reality is needed. And she obviously has some psychic abilities once faced with particularly newly dead beings. The things she can hear in them. The in between she can see. Also why is her house surrounded by death? She'd be a great detective or forensics for homicides....all just thoughts it left me with. And ideas I definitely don't mind anyone using. It would put a great - perhaps scarier take on her unsettling upbringing.

Opinion: this is coping with abuse/ trauma on an epic scale more than most of us could imagine in our worst nightmare. That little girl fabricated her own idea of religion through the horror that was her “real” life. shows incredible strength. Bravo~

Bravo! This should be made into a full thriller movie. I was captivated by their delusional state of minds and how the mother was programming her daughter to think the same way. As humans we need to understand that children are like huge sponges. They absorb what you tell them at a early age. I find feral children so fascinating as well because they had no one to teach them. This is why it's important to truly make sure the children's upbringing needs ro be done correctly. I pitied them towards the ending.

Horrifyingly, hypnotically creepy--probably partly because a household like this may actually exist somewhere. Kate Reed's pupils appear dilated throughout the film, which only adds to her eerie, spaced out portrayal. Great acting (even Richard Ginn, lol) and an imaginative story.

So basically the mom taught her all these backward things in order to scare and control her, and convince her mother knows all. But by the end it backfires, instead reeling in fear of the bacteria her mother warns her they can't defeat, she dives head first into those ideas. The way out from under the control of her mother was to go deeper into the nightmare of her beliefs, where not even the mother was willing to go.

+PinguSmokesWeed it's cool he's out now on the tag. It's actually quite shocking that three years later he is still having trouble with this charge because the original charge was an offensive weapon because he was walking along the street and he almost tripped over a broken umbrella so he picked it up to put it to the side of the road to stop anyone else tripping over it and the police saw him picking it up and arrested him for an offensive weapon, he was remanded for three weeks for social enquiry reports then given three years probation, but he was breached for missing a couple of appointments and a warrant was put out for him and he got remanded again for another week then let out on the tag with a curfew for five months
