I'm a retired U.S. Customs/CBP officer. How many illegals have entered through the southern border since Jan 2022? 2 different CBP officers at the Nogales Port of Entry (POE) told me that 100 illegals have been processed daily since Jan 2022 (when Covid restraints were lifted). 25 each on the morning and afternoon shifts, and 50 on the overnight shifts (CBP has 3 shifts per day).
No vetting, just wave them through with an asylum hearing date given to them. THAT date makes them legal. That works out to 36,500 illegals a year just through Nogales (100 * 365). Did you know that there are 330 POE along the USA/Mexico border? If 100 illegals per day is being done at all POE (and CBP usually implements national policy at all POEs), then works out to 12 million a year (36,500 * 330) in 2022, 2023, and continuing through 2024. That will make 36 million illegals waved through an open door in just 3 years.
I notice how the Miami Mayor mentions 7 million illegals. I wonder where he got that number. Has ANYONE ever heard the Federal government ever publicize that number? The answer is no, because the actual number is so great that Americans would rise up in anger if they knew the real number. Think of it this way. In just 3 years, Traitor Joe will have increased the U.S. population by 10%. Good thing the economy is doing so great that we can afford to do this.😡

The economy is doing so great ? Do you even go to buy groceries? Everytime you go to the market you spend two hundred dollars for what months before you used to spend about sixty dollars! Agreed is to have a immigration which:
Point 1: It has to benefit the need of a country and
Point 2: People which enter have to make a choice - accepting democracy, equality of men and women and the freedom of speech, becoming a valid citizen (not acting in criminal ways) - or return back to where they have coming from
The problem which the US voters have that one of the candidates pushes this point (term: southern border), but didn´t solve it at the time he had the chance (presidency, Senate AND House in Republican hand) that shows he is not really interested in it and just blindsiding people and the worst he is clearly violating Point 2.

Right off the bat, that someone who has a green card (I-551) cannot become a citizen is false. Any green card holder, known as Legally Admitted Permanent Resident (LAPR) can apply for U.S. citizenship after maintaining status for 5 years as a LAPR.
Immigration problem? You have to draw the line somewhere, and that line has been drawn in our laws. We as a country, right now, allow more legal immigrants in each year, than all the rest of the countries on earth combined. The problem is, all of the special groups want their "pet" immigrants in regardless of the limitation of our laws. Laws that have been passed by Congress, signed by the executive and upheld by our courts, and laws that Congress is not willing, able or interested in revisiting.
You are never going to be able to keep all of these special interest groups happy so you will never solve the problem. If everyone got their way we would be flooded immediately. There is no problem with our system, the problem is with people who want what they want.
Take it for what it's worth, coming from a 23 year veteran agent/manager of the U.S. Border Patrol, INS, Justice Department and DHS.

Let's go deep state deep. Many modern countries (e.g., Japan, Korea, US) are facing a crisis of depopulation as birth rates decline and the younger generations are getting married less. China is in the same boat due to their one-child policy. So for the first time ever, we're seeing Korea and Japan open up to more immigration. They have to, in order to have the population in place to preserve the infrastructure they've already built. The US may be doing the same thing. I'm 100% against illegal immigration. But this hypothesis goes deeper than the usual "dems importing voters" (true) and "corporations importing cheap labor" (also true.)

Actually what you are discussing has a very meaningful solution. As the USA was primarily created by europeans of multiple ethnicities, wouldn't be logical to endorse and promote european immigration from certain countries and under specific conditions rather than receiving millions of illegal immigrants from elsewhere? Most probably if EU citizens were allowed to move permantntly in the USA, trust me, be there would be much less than all other nationalities that would want to move to the USA. Moreover, EU citizens are mostly highly educated, with a western mindset and can actually help a lot in improving the situation in the USA overall. I strongly believe though that both citizens of EU and the USA should be able to move and live in the USA and the EU respectively, with no or few restrictions whatsoever. Both EU and the USA could benefit from that.
