That was awesome. One thing I just don't get is how so many people, so lucky to be there, are wandering aimlessly around instead of in their seats listening with full appreciation.
I'm glued. Only 2 things I'd enjoy more , this with Jimmy and JPJ AND ALL THAT WITH JOHN BONHAM. This harmony is simply put , amazing. I want to feel this live.
Plant has really reinvented himself. I really admire the fact that just because he may not have the vocal range that he once had, it has not kept him from pursuing other musical genres. Although his voice is not as high as it once was, it is still beautiful and rich. and can give audiences their money's worth. Also, having Allison Krauss as your singing partner doesn't hurt either.
Allison is so classy. I saw her bluegrass show live. She could make anyone look good. Not that Robert Plant is bad. She makes him better. The Queen of Bluegrass!
Awesome, my wife and I had front row tickets for Allison in 95, and she said one of her favorite things to do when not touring is to play AC/DC with her brother. She's a twisted musician just like most of us. This is great!
i'm sitting here by myself watching this and even still, i'm compelled to stand up and applause this, absolutely amazing! krauss' voice is perfect for this legendary LZ song!
Fuck this brought tears to my eyes and shivers down my spine... I saw mr. Plant live a few years ago, i'm not a huge Zeppelin fan, but that was the best live of my life so far. And i've been to a lot ones... Damned I missed the 60's... born in stupid '83 :(
Six months later, while the roadies prepped this same stage for the Derek Trucks Band (at about 12:30 am), John Paul Jones and Warren Haynes laid down a "Going to California" for the ages. If you go to a show in Asheville, you will be surrounded by knowledgeable, friendly fans, and you will leave feeling very warm. What a town for music.
I loved hearing Plant wailing YOU HURT AND ABUSE TELLIN ALL OF YO LIES ! like he did onstage in 1970 but I also love to hear him singing like this , with one of the best singers in the world at his side. He has done some amazing things in his life and this is one of them. Alison does this song so well
Much like most people don't realize how great of a drummer Karen Carpenter was because of her voice, Allison Krauss' excellent fiddle playing often gets overshadowed by her great haunting voice as well. Also, before you roll your eyes regarding Karen Carpenter, I am referring to her superlative skills as a big band drummer more than her drum work on any Carpenters' song. There was a reason why she was one of Buddy Rich's favorite drummers at that time.
This deserved big production. The stage is a mess. No fog, no lasers, no staging, no backline. Maybe this was a low key gig, but Robert Plant playing this song with Allison Kraus, absolutely requires epic theater.
Saw Alison twice in Toronto. The first time with the Raising Sand tour and recently in 2018..she is flawless, classy, professional..a solid show everytime. Her work with RP is no exception. She is one smart lady.. She has set the standard lately on being whole and complete on stage.
I agree completely. Love their version. I get chill bumps listening to those two sisters harmonize. I don't think they ever received the attention they deserved. Talk about talent!! Wow!
I caught Allison Kraus & Plant ( along with T. Bone and the rest of that excellent band ) at Mohegan Sun. Plant was great but I never knew that Kraus could hit multiple octaves, she actually reminds me more of Annie Haslam ( Renaissance ) more so than Sandy Denny. It was an excellent concert, it is what current live music is and people need to take into context that recorded studio moments are the best take in many, but they are only reflective of that moment and should not be how every current performance is to be judged. Time moves forward, musicians change and it is very difficult if not downright unrealistic to expect today's performance to be exactly like what you've heard on the recorded version ... Often times the live version surpasses the past recorded version ...
You are one lucky man. You got to see two of the very best at what they do. Their presence, their sound, is almost surreal. She does sound similar to Annie, but with a more earthy, not so orchestrated feel. And believe me, I'm not knocking Annie at all
Excellent! Really nice version. Sandy Denny sang with Robert Plant on the original album version and was great. And I just want to say that Allison did really well here as well.
I agree, but I think alison does the song justice, just as she does in anything she tries. This is a great version of the song, and I really would love it if these two got together again. If Robert could get together with AKUS, I'd love to hear him with Dan Tyminski.
Sandy Denny The Original vocalist on this track with Robert, was an amazing female vocalist. Robert Plant knew if he would of ever had a backup singer, (which was entirely rare,) Sandy Denny would get the nod. RIP Sandy. Her music still lives on as well. Plenty of Sandy Denny music out there, plenty.
Nothing will compare to LZ’s version with the only guest singer ever to record with Zepplin, Sandy Denny. Alison Krauss does the best job I’ve ever heard Re-creating this masterpiece. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss together are pure Magic!
@@artiewithers6980 Not reluctant. He even didn't know him until he was advised to check him. And then he went to see him singing, and he says he was blown away at very first moment he heard him. (That is the summary of how they met in many interviews with Jimmy Page I listened, or read)
I am 58,and Miss Allison can stand with Robert Plant and wail anytime.
She is the perfect match for his vocals!!!
That was awesome. One thing I just don't get is how so many people, so lucky to be there, are wandering aimlessly around instead of in their seats listening with full appreciation.
I totally agree.
They don't know what they're missing
They're playing at the old folks home..
Because they are drunken fools with no understanding of higher art.
I'm glued. Only 2 things I'd enjoy more , this with Jimmy and JPJ AND ALL THAT WITH JOHN BONHAM.
This harmony is simply put , amazing.
I want to feel this live.
Allison Krauss can sing with anyone, she has such a beautiful voice!
One of the best
Yep her and dolly the most beautiful voices god ever created
One of my favorite zeppelin songs...I cannot believe I was there, hearing Plant sing it..Incredible
Alison &him is the shit
I saw this at the Greek Theatre. Tears. Positively tears. Real ones! So sweet and so beautiful.

What? This song is a Led Zeppelin classic
@@antonimartinez9961 I imagine LS means the Americana stuff he does with Allison Krauss
I will Forever Love The Voice Of Robert Plant! Alison Krauss is awesome for this song!
Bring it back!!! That part of evermore is one of the best parts of the 4th album. Great re-do of this song.
That was fantastic! Robert and Allison sound wonderful singing together!
This is really good! Allison’s voice pairs well with Robert Plants!
I love it that he's still doing the Hair Toss.
Incredible performance.
Allison is drop dead gorgeous!
There's no mistaking her for a woman.
Allison is so classy. I saw her bluegrass show live. She could make anyone look good. Not that Robert Plant is bad. She makes him better. The Queen of Bluegrass!
i just got back from their concert 30 minutes ago. good god i'm in love with that pair now :)!
now 12 years and 30 minutes ago...
I just got back as we'll! It was so wonderful and grimm ❤️
I bet!
I am more in awe of Plant's singing, over 3 decades after the original recording.
Awesome, my wife and I had front row tickets for Allison in 95, and she said one of her favorite things to do when not touring is to play AC/DC with her brother. She's a twisted musician just like most of us. This is great!
Check out her brother's albums if you haven't. Great stuff.
Robert Plant is such a genius! The one and only Golden God!
i'm sitting here by myself watching this and even still, i'm compelled to stand up and applause this, absolutely amazing! krauss' voice is perfect for this legendary LZ song!
You can't get any better than these two amazing artists.
Me too
Much as I like Alison krauss it's not a patch on sandy denny

Holy shit, that was an incredible performance!
True professionals. They look exhausted and still pull this off. So happy they’re doing another project.

Cool to have stumbled upon this video, she breathes life into this song better than any other time it has been performed IMHO....
