*Spleen is the largest lymphoid organ with extensive blood supply, filters blood and serve as a blood reservoir.
*surrounded by a connective tissue capsule that divides it into compartments called SPLENIC PULP.
*white pulp consists of lymphatic nodules with a germinal center around a center artery.
*T cells form periarteriolar lymphatic sheaths(PALS)around central arteries.
*B cells are found in lymphatic nodules.
*Red pulp consists of splenic cords and splenic (Blood )Sinusoids.
*During fetal life is an important hemopoietic organ.
*White pulp is the site of immune response to blood borne antigens.
