Hi, I’m Patrick. I’m a freelance science writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and a master’s in clinical exercise physiology. I used to work in the clinical setting as a certified athletic trainer, physical therapy aide, and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. After working in the clinical setting, I went back to school and became a teacher. The goal of my content is to help normal people, not just pre-med students, learn about the human body. That might mean explaining a topic from an anatomy class or exploring a topic from medical history.

Hello sir, u may not see this comment at all but I would like to thank u from the bottom of my heart. My family was grown really poor and my dad was trying so hard to get a lot of money. My dad applied to medical school and I showed my dad ur channel to him. Because of you and ur simple and understandable anatomy videos, my dad has successfully made it to a doctor. Thank you so much for ur help and I really hope u realise how helpful ur videos can be.
❤
The most underrated channel!! Thank you for this!
Glad you enjoy it!
I was about to say that💯💯💯
The best and most simplified but still detailed explanation thankyou so much Patrick!!
Forgive me, I know at 8:32 I gave the impression that I was going to show longitudinal section slides of valves, but I couldn't find any public domain or Creative Commons licensable photos. But something's better than nothing!
Sir, if you don't mind, can you provide a reference on hold relax exercises or isometric exercises for the wrist?please
Thank you

What are you talking about?
Even though I need to go more in-depth on a lot of those topics as a med student I still love watching your videos as an opener to a learning session. Love from Poland and thank you for your work!
So clear and concise explanation of arteries and veins. Thank you!
Too too good! Thank you for such an easy, to the point, informative presentation! Keep doing such great work! Thank you!☺️
This is Literally the best histology video I’ve seen on youtube
the endothelial glycocalyx doesn't get enough love.
thanks for the video
Thanks for this video, histology slides are pretty tricky for me and I appreciate the simple explanations! Thank you also for giving mnemonic tips and including the reason for giving certain names to structures, I find it incredibly helpful. I noticed the analogy you established between vessel layers and clothing, I think it's outstanding how much you care about relaying the information to us in a fun and easy to remember way. Overall I enjoyed it a lot, great job on this channel!
thank you so much, saving me in anatomy class. You make a difference keep going!
thank you so much for this video. i now have a deeper understanding of vein and artery anatomy😊
great explanation.. thank you
Love you videos. They are great for ppl that AREN’T in the medical field. Most drs talk to you like you would know what epithelial is. Oh and that you have damaged them so here take this medicine. Thanks to you videos I now know what they are and understand what they do. Again, thank you for these awesome videos. Keep it going. I look forward to some new videos.
also loved the opening question, this was really cool
I just fell in love with your channel and your teaching. As a med and latin student I wholeheartedly believe etymology >>> mnemonics TOO!!
I agree mon!!!! This man is just so 😍
You're the best!
love love loooove.... you are amazing
Pls make many videos like this, your teaching is awesome
Thank you, I will! I've got a nervous system series coming this fall.
I need more videos related to cardiovascular pathology
Thankyou so much sir
Super useful information, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
@@Corporis I passed my exam just from watching your videos 😛 please continue making more and more :D
amazing
Dope content
I was wrong, I just assumed the bigger one would be the artery.
Anyway, this is a very comprehensive video.
That's a totally understandable assumption! We're so used to the big arteries (aorta, carotids) that we equate large diameter with arteries. Glad you enjoyed the vid!
Hi make a histology video for liver, lung and tumor!
Thanks
I wish I could give 1000 likes.
I have an inherited form of Raynaud syndrome. Instead of numbness and skin going pale, I get "raspberries" that are hypersensitive and if large enough can turn to scabs. Reasonable to think my veins are constricting/other form artery constricting?
I want more!!!!!
I've got more histology videos in a playlist for you!
The 2nd is artery , it has thicker walls am I right?
❤
1 = vein & 2 = artery ❤
7:30 vasa vasurum
Number 2 is an artery it looks circular and it's walls look thicker than one.
1 - Vein
2 - Artery
The artery is the thicker one and vein is the thinner one
2 artery
I knew which one was the artery, but I guessed it because the artery had a rounder shape, and I figured that was due to pressure pushing it outwards to a rounder shape. Is that also valid logic for this question or was it just a coincidence that I was right?
Sorta kinda! Histology slides are prepared from really thin tissue samples, so that image was a razor thin slice seen under a microscope. Obvs that means it’s not hooked up to a circulatory system anymore, and thus, doesn’t deal with the high pressure pumps from the heart. But the anatomy that accommodates all that pressure, the tunica media, gives it its circular structure. If I were your teacher I’d give you partial credit for that logic 🤘🏻
@@Corporis cool, thanks
1vein 2 artery
