@@ethanwhite145 ik it's terrifying
This season could be summed up by the fact that the only person in the final 5 to never visit the Island of the Idols won it all
Precisely. Twist was uselesssss
And too many idols actually add variance to the game and make the game more luck dependent.
Never wanna see anyone ever from this season again. Whole cast was so bad even without the controversy.
titan slayer Kellee was Great. She definitely got voted out with two idols because she thought the vote was a moral decision not a strategic one. She was probably the breakout star even though she was the merge boot. Dean Kowalski was also a great player in my opinion and kind of developed into an interesting villain. He betrayed a lot of players. He became a complex villain as his edit resolved around him turning on those who wanted to use him. He snitched on flip plans and turned his game up on the final lap. It was abit of too little too late (he left Lauren, Tommy and Janet too long in the game). DK Villain is a welcome returnee and even Jason the pre merge vote seemed to have a Mike/David potential edit but wasn’t given a chance. Janet and maybe even noura could return (Noura is the crazy person I hate but survivor loves (Phillip, Debbie).
@@zachnolan3378 Dean was my favorite person from the season and in my opinion should have won. He just woke up too late in the season and just didn't have the social game.
The biggest loser has to be Dan's 13 yr old son. That kid gonna have a hell of a time getting through puberty.
Andrew i was thinking that he got the worst of it. He was the first kid to be on the live ones visit and his dad did that. Back at home is friends r probs making fun of him and his life is ruined. ok not ruined but just different
@@tommytsongas hate to be "that guy" and correct you but Shane's son on season 12 came to the loved ones visit. I can't recall his age, but I think he was no older than 13 at the time. Regardless, I agree though. It's a shame Dan's family may also have to deal with the fallout of his actions...
He was 13 yrs old...they Made a big deal about it because hes the youngest person to ever be on survivor. Not to mention, they knew the whole time that Dan was going to be kicked off the show for inappropriate behavior And yet they involve a minor Knowing good and well kids are mean as folk and all of his friends and classmates are gonna be like your dad is a sexual predator throughout all of high school. Survivor &c BS you disappoint me for allowing all this boescheppe the happen. Way to Place the entire blame on Dan and ruin his family's life in the process, take responsibility CBS and survivor.
@Crebs Park Dan got removed for touching a staff member long after kellee had already been voted out. But I guess you probably don't even watch survivor.
Crebs Park unless you have proof of such, all we know is that he was removed due to being inappropriate again after his first warning.
Dean was one of the most entertaining players I’ve ever watched after seeing the finale. Not because he was super good, but because his personality was just hilarious.
I wanna see him back
DkChillin for second chance 2
I feel so bad for kellee and all the shit that happened to her. But I'm really bummed because that's all anyone will remember her by and not her two idols and brilliant Jack blindside. I really hope she comes back.
Not forgetting she got voted out WITH those 2 idols. I really don't think there's any reason to bring her back, her gameplay was below average. Noura, Elaine and Chelsea would be far better returnees.
Disagree. She is a crybully.
I feel bad for her too
Alice Moore that’s cringe bro
T Mac I can’t stand people like you lol
For one thing, I would like DK chillin’ to come back, the way that he turned it up in the 4th quarter was impressive to me.
Chris played 1/10 of the game and won... dean did not play till the merge and lost? His merge game was on point. Every backstab was great, and in the end he just was the most interesting character by far.
Can you do a cast assessment and predictions episode of winners at war? I’d like to know who you think will be the early vote outs, who will form alliances, and who will make it to the end
Noah Richter Yep, I plan to make several cast analysis videos in the pre-season.
Peridiam did you make those videos in May for season 40?
The Neiman Channel The story videos? I didn’t. But I did consider it for a while.
@@Peridiam You better talk about Pre-game alliances
Especially that between Rob, Tyson, Kim, Tony, Sandra
Peridiam who do you think will win winners at war
After Kellee went home .. the whole season felt weird to me , I just wasn’t that interested.
Facu Bogao she was robbed
She’s the queen of IOI.
Kellee and Jamal getting the boot back-to-back was painful.
You summed up the Dan situation extremely well and my girlfriend and I went through the same thing. We were ready to drop the season after the Kelly episode and we grew frustrated when Janet was labeled as the bad guy in the very next episode. I'm glad she can look back now and know she was a hero.
One thing I wanna see in Winners at War is Rob end up first on the edge of extinction and then start building the best shelter ever in survivor yes even better than
Island of the idols shelter
I want to see Sandra use one of Rob's lessons against him successfully lol
B C OMG that would be beautiful
This would be cool but the Edge has no bamboo or palm fronds ;(
The weird part for this season was mostly just that so many people covered up island of the idols but then it was never mentioned. Were there some castaways that didn’t know about it until the finale? I doubt it but they didn’t air anybody mentioning it to really anybody
Tommy won without ever going to the island of the idols
supposedly production didn't allow them to reveal it
They were told not to say what IOI was when they return
I would guess that everyone knew by some point but producers wanted to keep showing the cast be surprised when they “realize” Rob and Sandra are there. Which is probably why there was no other mention of it.
@all of you, they didn’t even focus on the fact that some had been, some not. It was just strange. And yeah, Tommy winning is some irony.
Besides dan, I did really like this season.
Justin My thoughts exactly! Think of how different it would be if he wasn’t there. I’m actually a bit more of a character appreciator than a gameplay lover, so this was a great season for me. Chelsea, Jack, Jamal, Elaine, Tommy, Dean, Noura, Vince, and Janet were all a lot of fun imo! (yes i know I named like half the cast, sorry)
The beginning had so many blindsides
this season sucked balls, let's be honest. from bullying Karishma over and over again and threating her like shit, nothing exciting happened post merge. Kellee got voted too early on. Girls turning their backs on janet while she only tried to defend them and stood with a harrasser. Most boring winner witht he most boring top 3. Nothing enjoyable about the post merge + all the fucked up shit that happened.
hamza sbaai honestly survivor has evolved with the advantages is taking over survivor like seriously that’s why this is a really good season that will show other seasons to have more advantages
Yeah the season overall was good but I thought the finale was pretty bad. And yeah dan ruined stuff
Noura: Karishma is crazy
Me: look who's talking
Pam Burke lmao so true
*what they are doing about it moving forward*
Me: Not casting Richard Hatch for Winners at war which therefore means he’ll never return to survivor.
JPB productions only if Cochran could also comeback
He blew it with the Sue Hawk thing, after what Dan did? No chance he returns.
Wild Card Watson Because the people she touches usually either like it or they’re touching her back aswell. Kind of a dumb comparison here.
@Wild Card Nation you can't compare Parvati to Dan. The issue isn't that Dan touched Kellee, it is the fact that she asked him to stop because she was uncomfortable and he kept touching her.
Parvati's touching was consensual.
@Wild Card Nation may I inform you on a word called consent ?
I’d love to see Chelsea, Janet, Kellee, and Elaine back. I’d even be okay with Lauren and Missy returning to see how they’ve grown from not only their mistakes but from the way they played their first time. Overall I thought the women this season was some of the best casting in a while, regardless of how things turned out
T Mac being good at the game has nothing to do with them being good casting. Noura was hilarious to watch and Karishma was funny sometimes as well. Elaine did pretty well considering she was a target on day one and made it pretty far, won some immunities, played some advantages etc. Janet made it incredibly far given her age. She’s the oldest woman to make it to the finale. And Lauren had an incredible social game. If she makes FTC she wins, probably beats Tommy too. Idk what you’re talking about.
T Mac ok agree with Karishma and Janet, but they literally had to get rid of Lauren because SHE WOULD WIN! They literally say it!
T Mac I hate Kim K and Jake Paul, they’re just annoying and obnoxious. Noura’s delusion and craziness was funny imo. Karishma wasn’t necessarily hilarious on her own, it’s mostly the memes. She had a lot of funny quoteable/meme moments imo. I don’t think I need to see her play again but she spawned some funny memes imo. These are all personal preferences no need to get your undies in a bunch
T Mac yeah... I said I agreed...???
I dont mind seeing Karishma for Second Chances 2
i understand that the game of survivor has changed, i really do, but the amount of idols and advantages in the game has become insane. also, the way “big moves” talk has taken over every single tribal council is annoying. as we saw, tommy won the game without a single idol or advantage in the game. he didn’t even go to IOI for goodness sake. survivor is a social experiment at the core. that is how you win the game, you build relationships with people knowing after you vote them out, you have to ask them for their votes in the end. i understand that there are other aspects to the game like alliances and immunity challenges besides the social game but it truly is a social game. we got to see this so much more in older “old school” seasons and i just wish we could see some of this from the newer seasons. i hope that soon we get a “back to basics season” in the near future. i don’t mean no idols, i just mean not so many idols that every other person is finding one. but i do think they should get rid of all the extra advantages. i also want them to stop focusing so much on big moves and more in the relationships that are built and the actual “survival” aspect of the show.
Idol Nolifier...
Yeah I 100% agree. I was really hoping season 40 was going to go back to basics, bare-knuckle survivor with maybe immunity idols and that's it (but make them harder to find). The reliance of some players on cheap advantages to carry them through is too much
You could check out Australian Survivor. Content 3 days every week and a lot more camp life. But yes, I'd love to see another Philliphines esk survivor season. Only idols on the beginning beaches and no extra things.
Watch Australian Survivor, it has the perfect balance between strategy, entertainment and camplife.
Survivors United where can you find it for free?
Island of the Idols is the Jekyll and Hyde of Survivor seasons. The pre-merge was really good in my opinion. It was exciting and had numerous edge of your seat votes. The merge onward was just unpleasant. It became extremely predictable from then on out, and committed the cardinal sin a season can do: it was not fun to watch. If you liked this season I think that’s fantastic, and I’m glad you did. Survivor for me though is about escapism; to relish in an hour’s worth of challenges, game talk, and unique personalities. I did not enjoy a single episode after the merge and could not get invested in it, and that’s too unforgivable in my eyes.
I was able to like it aside from all the unpleasant controversy, I’m not too affected by that type of stuff but I 100% understand why someone else would be and your feelings are justified. The part that annoyed me about this season is less talked about, the constant advantages are still here. I’m glad Tommy basically called out production at FTC by saying that just finding advantages doesn’t make you a good player, and he played a great game without needing them, and everyone on the jury (except aaron for some reason) was willing to hear it. Aside from all that, I desperately hope Survivor can avoid the complex social issues in the negative light that we saw them this season, so everyone is able to enjoy the show in coming years
I just love how this season broke the mold about old hags. let me elaborate. Janet broke the mold because old woman aren't usually seen as big players. But during the premiere, I was shocked by how Janet was strong and had such a strong game. Similar to Elizabeth.
I completely agree with you, honestly, this pre-merge for me has been one of the best! and then the post-merge or dark era began.
I liked the season overall, I just fast forwarded all of the cringe parts in the 2nd half of the series.
Personally I think if all the Dan stuff was put aside it was a good season. It had an interesting cast and good gameplay. I do agree the merge was a little more predictable, but it still had some interesting moments like Karishma's idol play and the crazy tribal council with Dean exposing the plan to blindside Tommy. Personally I thought Noura or Dean should have won, but Tommy did also play an epic game. For the past 4 seasons there has been 1 female in the final 3 and she recieves no votes. Noura, Laurel, Angelina, and Julie
Missy and Elizabeth made the situation 10 times worse by abusing it and using it to their advantage
I loved Dean’s final tribal performance, I think the votes would’ve been much closer, and he might have won, if Dean didn’t lie when he said he didn’t promise anyone final three.
The merge episode... Ugh ruined the whole season
Among the finalists - Janet deserved to win this season.
Lauren* deserved to win. 💕
missdelrey lauren is so overrated
mikeytherealist Janet did nothing all season
@@thart1338 if you think Janet did nothing then my friend you are lost on how Survivor SHOULD be played.
@@thart1338 In a season like this, doing nothing is a bigger compliment than you might think. Dan made women uncomfortable with repeated unwanted touching. Kellee got voted out with 2 idols. Missy and Elizabeth used a woman's emotional situation against her to vote her out. Noura blew up a number of people's games just cause she couldn't handle pressure. By comparison, Janet did nothing. She played a clean game start to finish, made no enemies at all
I wish Rob and Sandra were giving more commentary throughout. Also, kind of silly that one of the few players who didn't go to the Island won. I think the theme was a disappointment for my wife and I.
gkc I get that too. It feels like whenever an episode was at a low they would come on and lift our spirits for a good two seconds and go right back to rather boring tv, negativity, or something unnecessary
Binging Survivor here and was reading up on Island of the Idols, and when they brought up Rob and Sandra being mentors, at first I thought they were actually going to be designated to one tribe.
I would imagine Rob and Sandra pick an egg and smash it to reveal a color (like in South Pacific) and then Jeff would them reveal that they were not playing, they will teach them how to survive and how to be an efficient player. How that will work since talking to the mentors would put a target on their backs, I don't know, but that's what I thought what was going to happen.
Ultimately, what a letdown of a theme. But at least they were the highlights of the post-merge. I was thankful that they were there during the Dan situation, totally sucked the fun of the entire 1 and a half hour.
The Season was ruined by the inappropriate gameplay, and life lessons were definitely needed for some, (those like dan)
@Fart Party Plus what the-
I’m so excited for season 40
The only person not to have had mentorship from Rob and Sandra won the game. What a fail.
DK chillin’ is a legend being him back
Maybe we need to do a redo on top 5 obvious winners lol
Just throw Tommy as the thumb nail
Yah lol and make a sigh pointing at him saying obvious winner
game file plays lmao
game file plays is it bad I low key thought dean was gonna win at the time? I guess it’s because I’m blinded by his advantages he received, within the game
@@bradleyamesse9192 its not bad
Other than the Dan incident my least favorite part of this season was
KARISHMA
Mr. Mole lol just stuck around for nothing
Sam Antha exactly
I agree with your placement of this season. The inappropriate touching really soured it and people made mistakes but that doesn’t stop me from loving these characters! The pre merge was fantastic and while I wish the merge and post merge would have played out differently, it still ended up being okay in the end. Overall, a season with lots of potential that unfortunately fell flat, but still more enjoyable than several other seasons.
Merry Christmas to everyone but Dan
Max Nunley lmaoo
Wild Card Watson ok but when you're point blank told to stop and don't you're a shitty person
Wild Card Watson your right, but actions are descriptions of a person, and he fits into the creepy lane tbh
@Wild Card Watson if that were the case I bet he'd be touching the men just as much as he was the women. Unless this mysterious illness only makes you grope women. Golly, that would be a convenient way out.
Wild Card Watson his intentions are irrelevant. he was told multiple times that his actions made numerous people uncomfortable and he still failed to stop
Fantastic review. My daughter and I were very upset after the merge episode, with Kelly voted out and Jan being made the villain. We agree with your analysis completely and the show exposed how easy it is to sweep things under the rug. Like you and your wife, we believe Jamal addressed the issue best. Jamal is someone I would love to have a conversation with; although we would not agree politically, it would be enlightening to hear the foundations of his beliefs. Thank you for your thoughtful analysis on Islands of the Idols.
Alison Robinson Thank you for the comment! I would love to see Jamal again. He’s very good at explaining himself, especially with complex subjects. I’m glad to hear about your perspective - and I agree with you, we don’t always have to agree on everything but can still remain civil about it. Communication is so vital, and it’s so easy to lose that - especially online.
Thank you! I thought I was a fan, but you’ve got me beat. Especially after you mentioned that you transcribed the merge episode. Keep up the great work. Look forward to more content.
Why is there an idol in every corner, the average Joe is finding idols now, even when people started looking for them without clues it was very hard to find, for me personally I loved the last idol which Dean found like a treasure hunt, at least hide it better I guess
Philip Thomas this 👏🏻 is 👏🏻 truth
The best Christmas gift of all! Thank you Peridiam!
Peridiam, you couldn't have said this any better.
First of all, you're right that it's very important to look at the social issues that were going on throughout the season. It's a game of social politics, and to ignore what happens out there is just the worst thing one could do. Next, I'm glad you dissected the merge episode very thoroughly. I also went back to watch and analyze it (though not as heavily as you), and completely agree with your assessment on the Dan situation. As for production, I really liked how you pointed out that while they messed up, they do care. There is a big difference between making a mistake and being wrong, and not even caring for the contestants. There's some people out there who probably think they don't care- that how they respond is all for ratings and money. And yeah, that plays a role. But I think they learned an important lesson, and you talking about learning this important lesson is just the best thing I could hear. I'm also glad that you said you tried to take the positives out of the season. While we can't just ignore the negatives, we shouldn't ignore the positives either. And while we may have had another male winner, it was so refreshing to see someone win by playing the social and strategic game from the top, instead of relying on idols and advantages and playing from the bottom.
This was absolutely a great assessment of the season, and I just want to say thank you.
David I agree and my idea concerning production was changed when we got to see the confession with Kellee as she talked about the Dan situation and they let us hear that production was asking her how she wanted them to proceed and if they should help her. Before that interaction was presented the show did make it appear that the camera's were just filming.
I love this so much. You captured what I was feeling post-merge so well. It was like watching the episodes with my eyes closed but brain turned on, and it sucks because I really liked a lot of the people on the season.
This season is difficult to place in survivor history. It's tough to watch. It's tough to rank. Pre merge was amazing. Great gameplay. Great characters introduced. Great editing. Overall just great. Only issues were the whole dan thing as looking at the premiere episode now makes me feel sick. I also personally, found the social issues brought up a little preachy.
The merge episode was disgusting. I hated how it ruined so many people that we got to know over the 7 weeks. I hated how everything was handled. I feel like there is a lot that needs to be explained about what happened during the first 22 days. As viewers I feel like there is more that needs to be addressed. I want to know how everyone during the merge was feeling at that time. I'm just depressed how it was edited/handled. So many of the lives of these contestants lives were affected by this merge episode. I think within the next few weeks we may get these answers from the contestants when they are free to talk about their experiences.
The next merge episodes (10-13) were boring and predictable. Maybe episode 10 was fun, but the fact they left out and didn't care to discuss what happened the episode before. The next three were really boring. Sorry. They had their moments. But I was just not invested in them. The end of episode 13 needs to be explained, because I'm still questioning what happened and we as viewers were never explained what happened.
The finale was amazing. I loved it. I was sad about Janet leaving and agree fully that the idol nullifier shouldn't be played up to final 5. But maybe final 7. Tommy was a great winner and I'm happy that we got a player that won solely based on social play. Dean was great and a fun player. Noura was a queen. Lauren was great. Janet our robbed queen. Elaine a fun character. Karishma, probably my favourite of the season. And many other of the cast were greta additions to survivor.
Overall, it's a middle of the road season for me.
Merry Christmas Peridiam
@Morgan Marshall Thank you
This season shows precisely how "real" Survivor is. As a show, you never want to show that there was a predator making people feel uncomfortable, nor that you mishandled the situation, nor that a coin toss ended up deciding the fate of the most beloved player of the season. However, Survivor is as "real" as reality shows get, and did not have an option in portraying the failures of the IOI season. While this was frustrating, I think a lesson was learned, as the reality of the show bore its ugly, yet eye-opening head.
Peridiam, I belive you should do a video called: Survivor Second chances 2, Since you did a video about who you would put for Heroes vs Villains 2, i wanna see who would be there for Second chances, mainly because there is speculation about S42 being SC2

Merry Christmas !
I liked this season a lot. If Dan hadn't been cast I'm sure people would appreciate more some of the great characters we had - look at Noura, Janet, Kellee, Karishma, Elaine. Dean was my favorite of the season, I think he is so underappreciated. I could see all of these returning, plus Tommy.
Dan overshadowed this season with his touching. I mean, Kellee going home with TWO idols is virtually not even mentioned because of Dan.
some thoughts: i understand why tommy won, but i really wanted it to be dean. i also think kellee was robbed of some great gameplay if the whole dan thing had been handled better. hoping they bring her back. overall, not a stellar season, but not bad either
the whole dan situation makes it really hard for me to actually like this season, that and the fact that they tried to edit it about women empowerment only for the woman in the f3 to be ridiculed for her game and for it to basically be a f2 between the two men. also, the whole scripted bullshit with ioti annoyed me because it was so obvious that they knew rob and sandra were there, which we saw when elaine and elizabeth talked about it. id never seen a season take such a bad turn so quickly before like we saw here. it was... something.
The whole thing with Kelly and Dan was confusing at first for me, and especially since I read in the paper that a few of the women came forward after the fact to say that their own accusations (all butt Kelly's) had been strategy, not real life. So I was really confused as to whether it HAD happened at all, and I was angry that women would take advantage not only of the Me Too movement for a f*cking GAME (much as I love Survivor, mind you...), and of Janet's integrity. She certainly wasn't the bad person in this situation, though: I admired her for what she did. Mama bear looking after her girls, you know? I'd have done the same thing despite being, probably, half her age or less.
I think she just disliked Dan a lot and was annoyed by everything he did and the other girls falsely encouraging the "harassment" idea most certainly didn't help. After it all went down, even if she realized that things blew out of proportions, it was to late to admin that the situation wasn't really that bad.
It seemed to me like after the talk she had with Dan, he did limit his touching (which was not even inappropriate to begin with: simple massages, laying on someone's leg - someone with whom you are currently living with in harsh conditions), the only other touching I saw from him towards Kellee after that was in the merge episode and it was just hair touching/hair picking from face which seriously can not be considered harassment, annoying at most.
I think that she just got annoyed at him and after chit chatting with the other girls which falsely claimed they were feeling kinda harassed too, she figured this could be used to vote him out, that's why she didn't want help from production when asked and that's why she felt comfortable enough to not use an idol when having two.
So my impression is that, although she did feel some true discomfort because of Dan in the beginning, he did limit himself, it wasn't that bad and she tried to use the situation as game play too.
Following all that and with what occurred (from the contestants, producers/Jeff/cbs, etc) they couldn’t back off or change the story because of the action taken and it would be even worse pr (missy and elizabeth learned and are apparently backtracking again from what I read), so they are forced to keep pushing it, to minimize bad pr, minimize lawsuits, and some of the contestants might even get under the table settlements, by which I mean not disclosed to the public, from it as well, whether as a please don’t sue us type thing, or please keep quiet, etc., though Dan wouldn’t have to be worried about because you don’t need details or proof to sink someone of his demographics in the good ole us of a. All it takes is an accusation. Few will apply any critical thought as they would rather just run with it exalting righteous fury and indignation. The whole situation is a cluster from top to bottom that could have been resolved completely differently and so much sooner to prevent the potential victimization to begin with or, at the least, any potential continuation from the first instance.
Man man man this video is powerful..
Merry christmas peridiam 🥺🥺🥺
Yay Merry Christmas!!
Okay, I typically watch your videos and sometimes I agree or disagree with what you say. This is the first time I have watched your video and went, "every feeling and thought I had about this season is align with your thoughts." So thank you for making this video.
Absolutely. I’m glad to hear it!
Part of the problem is we didn't truly get to see Lauren or Tommy's personality. We knew Noura well enough and kinda Dean but other than being a teacher I have no idea who Tommy is. I know even less about Lauren.
could you do a video talking about all the players in the next season? this is only my third season watching and don’t know any of them
Peridiam, thank you. Your review is not only the closest to my personal feelings of the season, but puts it in a way that makes sense even to those that don’t dissect the show like me. Your analysis was brilliant. Thank you
I would love to see Noura again, She’s a challenge beast and such a character. She deserves another shot
Danicia Ashmore she’s kinda dumb and rly crazy tho but I know what you mean
salty cucumber your name applies to your comment
Weren't the first couple of reunions (not hosted by Jeff) pre-recorded?
Aside from the Dan controversy, this was overall a really good season especially premerge and even though the post merge was not as good as premerge, it's overall a season to watch at least once. I just hate how one person which in this case Dan had to ruin the entire post merge
GamingFanactic911 *Ikr it’s sad honestly*
@@rainischalk-late3540 and what's even more sad is his kids are going to have to see him as this for the rest of their life. They can probably get over it but with millions of viewers knowing about it, it will never go away and it most certainly will never be forgotten
If the producers had just dealt with Dan quickly like in most American companies would, it wouldn’t have ruined the season. They would have just yeeted him off the show and it would have been forgotten by the next episode.
But they dealt with it like Hollywood does, which is to mollycoddle these gropey people, to accept their lame excuses that would never fly anywhere else, and then to make a big deal out of it when they finally do the right thing way too late.
@@Ojisan642 yeah they should have done it right when it happened and not let it ride out.
Peridiam I want to know what your thoughts were on the little 30 second "previews" they started giving at the beginning of each episodes?
Quetzal00358 It was fine, I guess. It’s not really a big deal for me, and it does save on time. I already know everything that had happened in the previous episode and when I hear them tell me what was important to remember, it always skewed my framing of the season.
I’ll miss it because I’m so used it, but I’m also fine with it going.
Peridiam do you think the reason they got rid of the “previously on survivor” was because of the issue with Dan?
Quetzal00358 I doubt it.
There are a lot of players from this season I'd love to see back. Elaine, Jamal, Janet, Kellee would all be nice to see back sometime.
Can you do your cast assessment for season 40? I'd love to hear about that.
In a couple weeks once we get closer to the season.
This season is definitely a bottom 5 season to me. From the inappropriate gameplay, sloppy handling of issues by production, and "a very special virtue signaling" every other episode to try to make up for Dan's behavior it was awful. I will say though I'd gladly watch Noura again. As you said shes a breathe of fresh air. Merry Christmas Peridiam.
Yep, if anything is going to eventually sink this franchise, it's going to be PC culture.
Michael Knight Survivor is a social game. Social issues have been brought up before and it won’t be the last time. Get over it.
@@MrEmpoleon2010 "so so issues"??
Okay, whatever...rain man.
I wish they built it up that Dean could win because I knew the whole time that Dean wasn’t winning the editing was a little flawed because of that
@peridiam did you ever sign up for survivor??
Oh, and yes, I would LOVE for Janet to return. Yes, you read that right: Janet. I'm with Coach on this one: I like players who display honesty and integrity. Season 41, anyone?
Can you make a non-spoiler survivor playlist? I want to watch more of your survivor videos but I’m not sure which ones are generally spoiler free. Maybe none are.
I love that you added the running Yul joke :DD
Have you watched any fan made survivor seasons? They’re pretty great! I would love to see a video on that!
You got any good recomendations there? I'm watching this minecraft survivor one by EliteChris35, and was hoping someone could point me in the direction of others.
I'd love to see Noura, Dean and Elaine play again.
When is the vid of season 40 coming out??
I'm glad you addressed the whole Dan thing forefront would have lost a lot of respect if u didn't. Tommy has been the most predictable/boring winner in a long while but whatever.
For second chances for sure Nora, Kellee, Jamal and Janet!
@ omg what a big incel you are...
@ oh if only you were a female... how would you feel if you have to worry about getting fucked in the ass 24/7???? must be nice not to. let Kellee tell her story and throw dan the hell out I admire her courage to because it's so scary when you're in her situation. I had a very handsy teacher in jr high and all the girls were terrified to say shit and wanna know what he did? He molested someone so maybe its always best to speak up..
The pre-merge SLAPPED
then everything went down hill FAST
Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
It's very sad that this season had to be surrounded by so much negativity because without that, this actually could've been a really good season.
But that being said..... HOLY CRAP WINNERS AT WAR!!! 🎉🎊
This season sucked.
Thank you for this Christmas gift.
Everytime I think I've gotten over my Survivor addiction, Peridiam pulls me back in! I'm excited for season 40 and your predictions. I have my own, but I'm curious what you think, as a fellow strategy watcher.
Trumpy Dog Haha I plan to DIG DEEP before S40 starts. Reallllllly excited for it. After New Years I’ll be looking to ramp up with S40 vids.
@@Peridiam It's gonna be a fantastic season. Since CBS switched to their own streaming, I haven't seen any seasons past Game Changers. I've kept up because of your videos. But this WaW, I may finally spend the extra money to catch up and watch live. Have a great new year!
Trumpy Dog You too!
To me, the show feels like a set, very fake. Too much lighting, too much editing (and editing that doesn't even give a sense of continuity), and practically no actual survival scenes. Which is sad... because when watching the ponderosas, you can see how much weight these dudes lose and that it is such a tough game... Visually, everything is starting to look the same since the location hasn't changed... the challenges feel samey... and this dialogue of "big moves" is starting to get really grating. These aren't issues with IoI specifically, just issues with the show in general. I haven't even mentioned the excess of advantages, because I think most people agree they don't feel special anymore since there are so many (yay inflation!). Alright, cynical comment done. IDK how survivor is gonna move forward
I agree. Terrible season overall.
Great assessment, this was a terrible season.
Irrelevant but I want a season of 0 vote getters, I really want to see who ends up getting 0 votes in that season 😂. My money would be on Sugar, Angelina or Noura.
It would be awful gameplay but great tv lol
Definitley sugar
@@absurdandy4122 I mean they would have to bring Spencer, Tasha, Fishbach and Russel cuz these four could carry the season strategy-wise by themselves. Hannah would also do well I guess.
Fishback, Tai, Spencer, Troyzan, Sash, Becky, Hannah, Noura, Sherri, Sugar, Chelsea, Angelina, sure
But noone cares to see Cassandra, Natalie, Albert, Tasha or Laurel again.
I would also say yes to Dreamz, Monica, Gervice, Ken, and Dawn, but would they even want to come back?
Need to point out how good the editing is. The sophie transition was great
Very excited for this video
I want to know your thoughts on dan vs. Hatch, Ted and John Robert
It may have just been me? But I think you said (in here) that Dan's last name is Skupin (confused with "Mr I fell into the fire Michael Skupin" Instead of "Touchy Feely Dan Spilo" )
I purely enjoyed the ups and downs in this season. Pure chaos. One thing I didn’t like (I’ve only started binge watching seasons this past year or so) is that I never felt like people were physically struggling. I liked in older seasons where food and water was crucial, really kept that survival type feel.
Tflameee i agree. I'm by no means a survivor afficianado, I've watched a handful of random seasons. But I much like the earlier ones where they are suffering physically. They don't do that anymore, it seems.
Dan ruined his life people are never going to let this go away
I’ve been waiting for this for a week
Alright! Let’s get into to it!
People say this is the absolute worst season ever, but like... I personally say there are much MORE worst seasons that this. To me, people seem to be too hung up about Dan ruining the entire season, when personally there have been relatively good moments in this season and aside from Dan, the casting choices were pretty good.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not SUPER good, but I personally this season was alright if you take out the whole Dan situation.
also people seem to forget that richard sexually assaulted sue in all-stars yet mostly everyone thought she was joking around, and in thailand, ted sexually assaulted ghandia and never even got removed for it, and personally those two seasons were just... ugh in general
Wasn’t Ghandia exaggerating her claims?
Sue was being ridiculous and even she pointed out later on that she may have over-reacted.
The dan situation wasn’t even the worst, it was how every episode the game and strategy seemed to be overshadowed by the “social issues” that kept being brought up
Can you do a cast list for old school (1-20) v new school (21-40) just for fun
Love your commentary. Keep it going!
Judy Judd Thanks!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Merry Christmas. The "Survivor:Island of Idol" season was between a 6 due to the whole Dan thing.
Kelly definitely deserved better. I always hated how all the girls were on her side when she spoke up about how Dan made her uncomfortable, then turned their back on her immediately and denied it. They almost used her allegations as a way to advance in the game and that is not okay. Janet was right in standing up for Kelly, risking her own game and going out on a limb to make camp more safer. Elizabeth, Missy, Elaine all said they felt uncomfortable too, and if they truly did not they should not have lied to Kelly like that to make her feel safe in the game.
It’s not almost. That’s exactly what they did. They used inappropriate sexual contact as a strategic tool AGAINST the victim. That’s revolting.
Peridiam, you summed up all my feelings exactly. The complexity of this season was something that was interesting to navigate. I think we had a good cast (in general), good story arches, and a good winner.
One thing I don’t like about survivor know is that people have to make big moves to win even if the big move hurts their chances to make it to the end.
Sandra in her first season always stayed with the majority and never tried to make a big move and she won by sneaking her way to the end.
Did you seriously think you could slip in a Witcher reference and no one notice??
I didn’t, but that’s cuz I dont watch that show 😂😂😂😂😂
Honestly it dissapoints me how Kellee's story with Dan actually hides the fact that Kellee played a great game. In my opinion she played so well. I would love to see her in a future season.
OMG Is that Yul?
I love how Jack said “Tommy played you” then was like 😬 I was dying
This is why I love and respect Peridiam. A true fan that recognizes issues and addresses them with responsibility and eloquence. You just exposed everything I had in mind and what I thought about Season 39. I'm glad that you are part of this community, Peridiam! Good job, buddy! 👍🙌
I believe 100% in Kellee and all the women who felt uncomfortable about that man behavior. I stand with women! That's all.
Thank you for putting the WaW promo at the end of the video
Probably unpopular but haven't liked any of the seasons since Probst changed f4 to give Ben the win. Read Jeff fired almost everyone to take even more control of the production. His ego was big enough. The way the Dan situation was handled, was an epic fail start to finish. The reunion sit down between Jeff and Kellee felt inauthentic on Jeff's part, as if he was going for an emmy. Kellee was very authentic. Production should have put a stop to Missy & Liz as soon as they discussed using Kellee's uncomfortableness as a strategy. That was unfair to both Kellee and Dan. Survivor AU is so much better. I hope AU doesn't implement the stupid f4 firemaking, EOE or all of the stupid advantages. It's way too much. Survivor going the way of Big Brother with all of the production interference to steer the story. It's not the same show and that is sad.
I really liked David vs Goliath to be fair, and Season 35 was enjoyable to me until the finale. And from the exit press I saw of Jeff Probst, he wasn't the biggest fan of Ben either. But yeah survivor is going to crazy with all the twists cus it is feeling a lot like Big Brother
I mean, I'm the kind of person that wont hate any season. I like every season I watch, some I just like less then the others. I am still mad however about the Ben thing. That was Chrissy's game to lose, and they ripped the million out of her hands. She deserved it.
I think it's audacious to create the implication that the fire making twist was a last minute decision to save Ben.
Dylan Goldberg no offense but Chrissy still would of lost to Devin
tracieMac alright the take that the final 4 was put in so Ben could win is very bad
What were they looking at at 5:42 I can’t remember lol
I believe they killed a chicken, could be wrong though
