8.5 seconds of freefall? Maybe if you add up each bounce. I was 6 seconds between platform and bottom of first bounce, the last two seconds weren't exactly freefall because the bungee was slowing me down. 4 seconds of freefall for me, but it's all I needed. The first second was the most beautiful moment of my life. Don't go to NZ and not do this.

I felt that way too - I've counted a few peoples' videos and I usually see about a 6-second drop, some of which is dampened bungee-cord.
