I don’t know Brian Carter, meaning I’ve never heard him speak before today but I sense he’s a man of integrity.
If these guys & girls can’t win without manipulating tires, well then they just can’t win. And if they can’t repent so to speak. They need to be permanently suspended from the sport.
Like 98% of the time Kenny, that was a great interview.

You and Brian certainly answered many questions for me concerning the sequence of events and the protocols associated with the test failures. This was a great interview. I hope this gets out to all the racers. Sounds like good policing to me. I kinda wondered how specifically things were taken care of in that department. Best interview yet Kenny! This interview alone should help draw possible spectators in for the storyline here.
What does that do for those who finished behind them for the specific races where the tires were prepped?

After watching several interviews with Brian i have all the faith in the world in this guy he sure seems to have the best interest of racing in mind when operating all his series and i think his contribution to dirt racing is monumental and under appreciated, dirt racing is flourishing right now and he deserves a lot of the credit in my opinion. As racers (35yrs) we all look for advantages if you havent tried to bend/ break the rules you havent been racing long enough watch the interviews with the ex racers and their stories of cheating are endless they usually smile from ear to ear when telling them ,its part of the culture.Design a series, while doing so think of the ability to tech efficently and accurately if you find a violation penalize accordingly and move on.its always gonna happen in racing and life in general, getting caught is embarrasing im sure but apparently not enough to stop it!! The problem i have is when racers including you gasp and act all surprised about this stuff its actually comical EVERYBODY has tried something sometime that could be considered cheating weather they admit it or not, and of course its extremly easy for non racers to jump on and say oh id never do that, Bullshit !! How many times have you heard a new guy wanting to start racing or start his kid racing and they say oh we just wanna have fun we dont care about winning we just always liked it running good isnt important blah blah! then talk to em a year down the road and theyd sell their soul to run up front no one likes to get beat, its no fun at all so you try anything you think can get ya there !! Then throw money /fame in the mix and we all know what happens then!

This is the best interview yet Kenny!! Very upfront on everything except one thing. Nobody talked about the penalties enforced. I looked at BP's penalties and it does not near seem stern enough to me. BP is also claiming he didn't do anything to the tires so what is the real solution? To me he just seems oblivious to his penalties, is there a way his team put the chemicals on there and didn't say anything? I would assume that as a driver you always know what's put in or on your car. If it's less than 1% of drivers, penalize the hell out of them until they can play by the rules!! Even with the penalties given to BP he is still oblivious so that proves the penalties were not strong enough.

Why not pull samples off of every single car in the A main before the race ever starts? Then just send in your top finishers to be tested. That takes half of the argument right out of it. Especially if it’s just a grooving iron sized sample, that sample, will not affect performanc, and you’ve done it to every single car about to start the race.

Went to the Woo sprint car race in Kennedale Tx. It was near 3am when i got home. No fault of the Series they ran there cars through pretty darn quick once the track got the lights back on. A transformer blew and it was a 2.5hr delay. And this was my first time seeing them race and what a show they put on. Carson Mecido (sp) was the winner and set the track record fast time. Also not one driver was to busy to not give me an autograph. Also talked for few min. and they actually asked me about track conditions. I told them it usually got dry slick but the amount of rain and as wet as they had it before the race i didn't think it would slick off. I have had a few laps around it in a stock car only. Great guys each and everyone of them.

Kenny good episode. A couple of questions I would like to know the answers to.
    1. Why can’t they come out with the chemical compound that was found in the test that made the benchmark miss? (I can guess the answer but would like to know officially)
    2. The three tires that were outside the benchmarks-where were they in testing order of the over 60 that were tested? If they were tested together sequentially I would be more suspect of the findings.

Why not let the racers do whatever they want to their tires? It would eliminate any reason for the expense of testing . It is the same as finding horsepower, changing engine builders, trying different carburetors, improving the chassis, buying bigger haulers, and so on! Why do you allow all of the above, but not tires?

I am new to watching NASCAR. I don’t understand this violation. What does simple green do to tires? And why is it not OK for everyone to do it if it makes them last longer or perform better? Shouldn’t NASCAR mandate simple green or anything similar for all tires? I was under the impression from watching the Indy 500 years ago that the manufacturer just gave every team a pile of tires all the same for each team.

Pierce mentioned in his FB post an abbreviated explanation of how he believes the tire testing goes and the fact of the competitors tire being tested is "altered" from the benchmark sample provided from Hoosier. Why does the competitor not have a right to the test result to see how it differs from the benchmark? Seems like there would be less controversy considering the lab has never been wrong even while purposely trying to trick the lab as mentioned by Brian. Transparency seems to be what most are upset about especially the competitors, maybe expounding on that issue would help people accept test results better.

    • @syntheticsoneindependentam9939
      @syntheticsoneindependentam9939 5 місяців тому

@@mikepaulson745 that's a good point. Seems like there could be some better processes implemented that are more trustworthy. I liked the idea of having the tires wrapped or some sort of way to know a tire has never been touched before purchased by racer, maybe some kind of impound where tires or at least RR is prepped in impound area at track and put on car just before features or qualifying. Is there an appeal process that can take place to give racers a little defense that is meaningful? I think just assuming that because rumors start going around in pits that so and so is soaking so now top caliber guys start soaking also is a stretch and then stand behind one tire test facility can raise concerns. Should let racers pay to have tires tested at other facilities like they let them pay to have competitors engines torn down in rare cases at least in the local level growing up.

You gotta remember also that alot of these guys are hired drivers, they fly in and drive and leave so they aren't working on the car and they aren't setting them up most Def not monkeying around with tires. So if the owner says soak that tire and the driver may not know but someone on that team knows and the driver is at fault because he is driving the car.

You don’t have to buy prep . You can make your own. Lots of homemade brews out there. It’s used heavily in kart racing and it’s legal. Look up any kart parts supplier and it’s there. I’m not sure if outlaw karts can use it. Maybe Kenny Wallace’s son in law knows.

I think the main thing is release the chemistry that was off. Bc Carter said you can’t beat chemistry. These number of things were found and are related to this product and are illegal. These companies are gone. Or we can just get our tires at the track. Seems a lot simpler.

Kenny, why not just allow everyone to dope their tires? Would equalize things, reduce rules, and avoid controversy.

Kenny, should I inflate tires with Nitrogen or Compressed air?
Should teams be allowed to use heating blankets on tires or heating cabinets?
Can tire mfg treat tire so other chemicals will not penetrate without changing color of tire? Somewhat like the outer layer of F1 tire?

Question for mfg, can you ultrasound the tire to detect attempts to alter the chemistry of the rubber, as a quick field test, before sending samples to lab?
Maybe develop a mobile mass spectrometer

Was a test performed before they received delivery of the tire? How does the owner know the tire was clean before he bought it?
