The future of power steering is here. No power steering fluid to buy. Didn't know that the 2015 Mustang came with electric power steering. Great video, cool Mustang, Thanks Bill.
You can also use the electronic assist from a Saturn (Mounts on the steering column shaft) and buy the sensitivity controller. If you hit a junkyard you'll probably pay about a $150 total.
this is looking like my next mod. I like the manual steering feel at speed, but parking with it gets old fast. Here's a question, though. Can this be installed in such a way as to create a "collapsible" shaft? The one thing that scares me about my '65 is the steel potential spear constantly aimed right at my sternum.
I did see a YT that shows how to create a collapsible shaft with one of these units. He was doing the 04-09 Prius swap I think, but it's essentially the same install. He didn't really explain how he did it but mentioned it as an aside. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that it's definitely possible. Keep searching you'll find it pretty quickly.
Hey Bill, do you think this electric power steering is best than the hydraulic borjeson? I have a 1966 manual steering mustang and I want to change to power steering but I don’t know which is better
Hi Bill, I already have a power steering in place at my 70 Mustang Coupe, but turning to the right is much lighter than to the left, that is an unsecure feeling while driving. What do I need to unmount of the old steering to use the electrical steering?
E Morrell We gave the basics of the install since every car will be somewhat unique. A full detailed install in this case would only be good if you had the same column and R&P steering as us which is unlikely.
I understand. you just have the best videos and they help me so much that i almost only use your videos now. the only times i even look at others videos are for the things you don't have videos for, that's all. you all are doing a great job. thanks for the videos.
Hey mate bit of a stretch looking at something like this to put in an ford falcon xb coupe (australian) and im wondering if something like this can be fitted to an xb? or is it mustang specific Cheers great vid btw
shokforums We plan on doing a full driving review of Project 50/30 in the near future, unfortunately weather and time was not on our side when this install was done.
Looks great, but it's I'm in the middle of one of these conversions now. It is a pain in the ass trying to get it to fit a stock 65 mustang. If I knew this, I'd have recommended a normal p/s conversion instead of this .Not worth the aggravation and time. Plus I don't like the fact it is using the stock steering column mount with no other support. This should have been engineered far better for the money it costs. Fail.
In the 64-66 Mustang, the shaft is not removable from the steering box, but yours looked a little more modern, did this have steering box from a 67-68 in it?
CJ Pony Parts cool, I have noticed that almost all the videos are listed as “65-66” does the 1964.5 have something in Special that requires the use of different parts se can I use 65-66 parts without a problem?
@@mynamesmikedEvidently you fail to realize that people watch these kinds of videos for the info, not the music. So, rather than waste your time telling people what they should or should not do, which is indicative of a wasted life, why not get off other peoples backs. I mean I know being a b___h makes you fell good about yourself, which in and of itself is pretty pathetic, but still, get a life buddy.

Dexter Conley Thanks for the compliment, the Mustang has had electric power steering since 2011 actually.
My Chrysler 300 is a 15, it too has electric steering.
this channel makes me even happier that i bought my 66 mustang 🥰

Really? What year Saturn and what sensitivity controller did you use? Do you have pictures or video of the finished product?
Also wondering what year make or model of Saturn as well. Thanks
Just the other day, I was thinking how awesome it would be to have electric power steering in my 82 GT like my gfs 2015 stang has....
Hey Bill, does this work if we have the solid shaft from the steering box to the wheel? i.e. a stock manual steering box?
Yes, all the 65-66 (some 67) mustangs I've seen came with a solid 3/4" shaft from the steering box (not R&P) to the steering wheel.

I wonder if this will fit my 61 Studebaker Lark?
I would assume it would require quite a bit of modification but might be possible.
Good video, but It would have been nice to show the after, as you've shown us the before... in terms of turning the steering wheel with 18" wheels.
Can I fit this with a Classic Performance Products Mustang II IFS System Grana Spindle kit, set for hydraulic power steering?
Hi Bill, I already have a power steering in place at my 70 Mustang Coupe, but turning to the right is much lighter than to the left, that is an unsecure feeling while driving.
What do I need to unmount of the old steering to use the electrical steering?
Will this kit fit a early 1`967 MUSTANG WITH POWERSTEERING build DATE 1/12/1967
We sell kits for 67
I never seen this ride before but, sweet Christmas this car is beautiful! Is she single lol.
Do you need to replace the rack and pinion? Or is that all you need
Rack and pinion will help but it will work with original steering as well.
What steering rack should be used with these kits? Would factory work fine? Aftermarket manual rack?
We have an aftermarket rack and pinion in this car but it will work with factory or aftermarket.
Will this work on a non mustang application?
we need all of it the entire video from start to finish of how to

+JuiceyDoosey Can't say I ever tried but as long as there is enough room and the shaft diameter is the same size it might
+Bill Tumas
cheers mate will look into it
Come on, you have to show it being used as you play with the adjustment, don't leave that out. It would be the main selling point.
shokforums We plan on doing a full driving review of Project 50/30 in the near future, unfortunately weather and time was not on our side when this install was done.
I'll be looking forward to it, these electric PS kits are gonna be big in the classic car market for sure.
i saw this car at the Philadelphia car show few years back
What would happen to the steering if that electrical powersteering fails? Will it be almost impossible to turn?
+96MustangBoy1 We drove it once with it off and its just like driving a normal power steering car with the belt off. Difficult but possible.
+Bill Tumas is there a kit for the sn95?
what springs are those on?
So where to buy and how much ?
Epas sells them, about #1500, give it take.
Looks bulky down there. I wonder if the feet or leg ever bump into it.

+crazycracker289 It has a rack and pinion conversion kit on it.
Agree
What's the installation time?
It's a 5-6 hour install typically.
Does this work with a 1964 Mustang?
PartyPoison785 - yes it would
CJ Pony Parts cool, I have noticed that almost all the videos are listed as “65-66” does the 1964.5 have something in Special that requires the use of different parts se can I use 65-66 parts without a problem?
Fitment on the 64.5 is almost always the exact same as the 65 so many times parts are listed at 65.
I have to agree, all that hype and no demonstration.
EPS = Best way to remove most of the steering feel from a car. SMH
No power steering at all. More road feel
Great presentation but PLEASE get rid of that DREADFUL thrash guitar music - it only wants to make me stop watching!!!
So stop watching

1:55 - Actually, wider, lower profile tiree, at a given speed, are easier to turn than narrrower, higher profile ones.
